Dutch Savage is a surprise and a guy I don't know very much about.

Reading a little about him. Some interesting possibilities here. Don Leo Jonathan and Dutch Savage sounds like a fun tag team.
We need to get Moondog Mayne in the game.

Moondog Mayne would be awesome. Also from Portland, would love Tony Borne and Ed Wiskowski of course.

Justin Boulka (pikemojo) signed him awhile back and the art is spot on (like the rest so far). Stanley is man in Legends artistry

We'd probably get Ed Wiskowski as Col. Debeers.

We'd probably get Ed Wiskowski as Col. Debeers. I think in that case, we'd release Col DeBeers in the main set, and do a Promoter Prime of Ed Wiskowski immediately, or vice versa. It's a tough call, since Wiskowski wrestled under his own name longer, and was successful teaming with Buddy Rose in Portland and San Fransisco, but he's probably more famous nationally as Col. DeBeers. All of this is unnecessary speculation, since he's not signed.

I actually remember Wiskowski from Mid-South of all places. I don't even think he did anything notable there other than being a mid-card heel.

big problem is the same as always, does Tom really want to try and recolor 200+ cards at this point? I'm not sure the answer to that. And who would buy the colored sets? I don't know how many current customers could afford the upgrade, or if there are enough new customers out there to justify the costs. I wouldn't color every card. My idea includes taking all of the cards and separating them into their respective "territories" (WWF, NWA, AWA, ECW, Over seas, Mid-South, Classic/Early eras etc...), pick the best of the best from each stack, color them, come up w new art for a few of them, update a few stats (minor to fit within each respective "fed") and repackage them as sets like Legends Main Event (WWE guys), Legends Hardcore (ECW guys), Legends Overseas (Foreign stars), Legends South (Mid-South) and so on. Sports throwbacks is always in style. Just like the indy sets, LOW is a giant mix-up of guys that can be re-filed, re-tuned, and re-packed (along with a continuing stream of new guys of course) to new and loyal fans both with just a few new wrinkles. You've got ALL this content there at your finger tips. May as well try and maximize it.

In that way, I could definitely go for it.

Yeah, I've been an advocate for the idea of repackaged "best of" legends themed sets in color for a while now. Beyond color, some of them would clearly need new art too, because the style Sonny Strait used on some of the early stuff would just not translate to color. He used far too many shadows and black areas. It would be worse than trying to colorize Bendis art in some cases, and I've seen the mixed results (and some minor artistic miracles as well) the crew has gotten out of that on COTGonline. No reason to reuse mediocre art (some but not all) when you've got top shelf artists on call.
DUTCH SAVAGE: this guy was one of the true legendary names of territorial wrestling. I doubt a lot of us have seen a ton of footage of the man in his prime because it is real hard to come by. But everyone who has ever read anything about Portland wrestling has read the name Dutch Savage hundreds of times. Steve Stanley captured the "tough SOB" look perfectly, too. With Rose an original Legends guy and the recent addition of The Grappler, the Pacific Northwest is now getting some serious representation in the game.
I'll be real interested to see rules for the Coal Miner's Glove match, too. That needs to make it onto any "Spin The Wheel, Make the Deal" event run from now on, and it MUST be the match type rolled no matter how little sense it makes (some will get the reference...Hell here most will get the reference. Love that about posting here).

From what I read, he played both a face and a heel for considerable amount of time. A tough guy face is something we don't have many of.

With Dutch on board we HAVE to get official rules for a coal miner's glove match now. Have to. That's the match he invented and made famous, and in Portland it was actually considered a last-resort, feud-ender because Savage was so good at putting the stips over.
