So, earlier this week, the Filsinger Games tweeter feed tweeted a photo of Tom and Nasty Boy Brian Knobbs. Now, the Nasty Boys are one of the top two teams on my personal Legends wish list, so needless to say, this got me excited thinking about the prospect of Legends 15 getting Nasty-sized. Of course, its just wild speculation, and judging by the photo neither man may have been in any condition to negotiate... But hope springs eternal. I, personally, would even be okay with a solo Knobbs, like Warlord and Jannetty. He'd make a great enforcer type for a Jimmy Hart lead stable.

More random speculation: This year's set will include Kevin Steen. Possibly even as the "headliner". Also, Legends 15 will feature an updated Luke Harper version of Brody Lee and/or a new version of Austin Aries.

I can see Steen, and I can definitely see an updated Brodie Lee.
What's your thinking on Aries, though?

I've been expecting an Aries for a few sets now. Mainly, it's the fact that he's one of the biggest names who've never had a card released in a standard LOW set, only in ROH and LOTF, Steen being the other.

Okay, here's another bit of random speculation, though it's not exactly going out on a limb: There will be an ECW guy in the set. I'm basing that on nothing but the fact that something to the tune of 65% of sets have had an ECW guy in them, so it's a pretty safe bet. I'm guessing it won't be one of the big six that are missing from the game (Taz, Dream, Douglas, Dudleys, or Raven); but will be more along the lines of a Balls Mahoney or 911. If you held me down and forced me to pick someone... I'll say Nova to complete the BwO.

Nova would be fun. Maybe they can sign him at KOT.
Sadly, I believe 911 turned them down.

I actually did stat him up, Professor Sudden Style with his main offense being on level 1 instead of 3, but yeah, he's the rare guy where 15 moves would be tough.
Mind you, we managed to stat Vin Gerard whose basic move set was
attempt STF 13 times STF 2 times
Had to really dig to find some actual moves.

So I realize now that in my wild speculation list, I've filled up roughly half the slots... 1) Kevin Steen 2) Brodie Lee and/or 3) Austin Aries 4) Nova (or comparable ECW guy) 5) Brian Knobbs
With Saggs as a hypothetical 6th....
For my next bit of hypothesizing, I went looking for patterns in the recent sets. Legends Ten had Bill Dundee, Legends 11 had Bobby Shane, Legends 12 had PG-13, Legends Madness had the Grappler, and Legends 14 had Dutch Savage. All of these guys were, primarily, regional stars. Yes, Dundee and PG-13 had some national runs, I still feel comfortable applying that label to them. I feel safe saying this trend will continue, and there will be another name from the ranks of the regional stars. Now for the purposes of wild speculation, We've had a big uptick in the last few sets in terms of guys from the Portland territory, what with the aforementioned Grappler and Savage not to mention Roddy Piper. So I'm going to guess we get another PNW guy. Now, a lot of great names went through PNW, and the big two that are on everyone's want list have to be Billy Jack Haynes and Ed "Col. DeBeers" Wiskoski (with Brian "Crush" Adams up there too). But I don't think it will be either of them. I think it will be more like someone along the lines of David Canal, AKA Fidel Sierra "The Cuban Assassin", who held the PNW top title under three different personas between 1981 and 1988.

Good old Top Gun? He'd be a lot of fun. I'm definitely up for anyone Memphis or PNW. Two I'd love to have (and have no idea if we ever could) would be the Fabulous Fargos, Jackie and Don.

I'd be happy to see the Fargos. In addition to Memphis and PNW, I'd love to see more guys from the Dallas territory, as that's what I personally grew up on.

There's two lower card guys from national companies I signed a long time ago would be nice to see them get in a set.

So, giving it some thought, I have some opinions on who won't be in the set. 1) I don't think we will see a jobber or a lower card guy. Promoter Prime seems now to be the preferred way the guys who are signed but don't have much star power get released. While I personally would have been fine with seeing someone like "Illustrious" Johnnie Stweart in Legends 14, he insteaded was slotted in PP, and that's fine too. 2) I don't think we'll see a manager card. Simply put, the well is dry. We have, already in the game 13 of the WWE's list of the 25 greatest managers of all time (and the ones we don't have are rather suspect). We have Hart, Hennan, Albano, Cornette, Sunny, Sherri, Humperdink, Alphonso, Grand Wizard, and Ellering. We have wrestler first versions of highly successful managers like JJ Dillon, Harley Race, Mr. Fuji, the Million Dollar Man, DDP, and Blassie. We even have mediocre managers like Nikita Breznikov and Johnny Fairplay. There are a few glaring omissions from our catalog: Miss Elizabeth, Slick, Arnold Skaaland, Gary Hart, and General Skandor Akbar being the most obvious ones. I just don't see any of them coming. The one exception is a black & white LOW version of Percy Pringle III. I could see that one coming out. 3) And this is the big one. It won't be any of the big names from the 80's or 90's that the community always works ourselves into a frenzy speculating about, that, in turn, cause us to unduly crap on the names that do come out. It's won't be Barry Windham, it won't be Vader, it won't be Ric Flair, or Hogan, or Mongo. It especially won't be Lex Luger.
