The Iron Sheik's Reign of Terror Continues...
Since winning the World Title Iron Sheik has been unbeatable. Thus far Steve Williams, Ted DiBiase, & Bobo Brazil have fallen to the CAMEL CLUTCH. DiBiase gave the champ his toughest battle to date and came within an inch of winning the title. DiBiase charged shoulder first into the corner and the champion dodged...DiBiase collided shoulder first into the ringpost and the champion locked on the CAMEL CLUTCH to retain. Can someone in the top 10 topple the Iron Sheik or will he continue to humble all challengers?
Evolution hits ICWA!
Two weeks ago The Destroyer announced that he had formed faction that shall be the dominant force in ICWA. He named the faction Evolution...and with good reason. He brought in his mentor Cowboy Dick Hutton, Danny Hodge, & Hutton's mentor... Ed "Strangler" Lewis!!! Three generations of wrestling greatness in one group... This doesnt look good for Bobo Brazil or for that matter, the entire ICWA.
The Destroyer/Bobo Brazil feud has reached deadly new levels
At the Weekend of Champions Supercard, the already violent feud took a deadly turn when The Destroyer & Dick Hutton viciously attacked Brazil after his match with World Champion Iron Sheik. The Champion had just defeated Brazil with the CAMEL CLUTCH when Destroyer and Hutton hit the ring and began to viciously double-team Bobo. Iron Sheik made his way to the back as the two men continued to beat Bobo down. They tossed Bobo outside the ring. The Destroyer and Hutton then spike piledrived Bobo outside the ring. The Evolution members walked away as EMTs tended to the fallen Brazil. Bobo was carried away on a stretcher. His condition is listed as serious and no word on how soon or if he can return.
Larry Sweeney: I've conquered King Kong...who's next?
"Sweet & Sour" Larry Sweeney loves to run his mouth and apparently he can back up every word. At a recent FTW TV show King Kong Bundy was signing autographs. Sweeney came into the ring and got on the mic. He began to to badmouth the legend, calling him a washed up has-been and that no one takes him seriously anymore. After a few moments of verbal abuse, Bundy got into the ring and slapped Sweeney so hard he left his feet. They brawled for a few moments until Commissioner Cox came out and told Sweeney since he wanted to pick a fight then he would be fighting and defending his TV Title against Bundy. Bundy gave Sweeney hell in the match but in the end Sweeney managed to get a count out victory. The following week Bundy got a rematch and won by DQ when Sweeney's mentor "Playboy" Buddy Rose rammed Bundy into the ringpost. A furious Bundy got on the mic and challenged Sweeney & Rose to a NO DQ tag team match at Weekend of Champions. Sweeney & Rose accepted. Last week, Bundy announced who was his tag partner and it was none other than "Bloody" Harker Dirge! Bundy and Dirge called themselves FAMOUS MONSTERS and vowed to put Sweeney & Rose six feet under. At Weekend of Champions the match took place and it was a definate crowd pleaser, Sweeney & Rose were both busted wide open, however, in the end Sweeney nailed Bundy with a pair of brass knucks and Rose hit BOMBS AWAY to get the win. Since then Sweeney has been bragging saying he has conquered King Kong... Sweeney has won the battle but the war is far from over wrestling fans!
Mike Quackenbush... ICWA Bound?
Rumors have it that the ICWA Powers That Be are taking a huge interest in the Impact Champion. Quackenbush has soared to the top of the FTW pile and doesnt seem to be coming down anytime soon. His matches are always top notch and crowd pleasers, but how would he fare in the ICWA...would he continue to rise...or plummet back down to Earth...or worse yet...get lost in the shuffle. Time will tell... ICWA officials are not commenting on the validity of these rumors.
