I really love this video game for my PS2, but there has always been that one thing that kills it for me and that is too many wrestlers to use...
But I'm locked in now with a 20 wrestler LLUSA where I've had Charly Malice defend his LLUSA Belt twice and Marco Corleone and Lujo Esquire defend their LLUSA Tag Belts once so far and so I've done more with LLUSA edits then anything else...

IMO, Fire Pro has a lot of little nagging points, but it's a lot of fun. I've recorded a bunch of FPR matches and put them on YouTube with my own commentary.
I'll just list my gripes with Fire Pro: - Hit detection on strikes is stupid. - There's no real way to do a Royal Rumble. Even with Over the Ropes selected, guys still pin each other. - The camera angle lends itself to some really stupid rope break situations, and only lets you do corner grapples in two of the corners. - The lack of being able to turn off DQs, or edit the count is annoying. - Edit Logic is tedious. - You can't edit everything about the in-game guys like you can in King of Colosseum II. KOCII even let you replace in game guys. - Ring Create is cool, except you can't put logos on the aprons, or turnbuckles. - Weight detection means nothing after the first few minutes of the match. Andre can be thrown around by TAKA, etc. - Matches usually end with lame submission finishes that kill the entire experience of playing. I've never seen a stupid submission finish in the SmackDown games, I can't even count how many I have in Fire Pro. - Only one attire per Edit/CAW. - The default character's logics are messed up to the point that they start throwing finishers like two minutes into the match. - A lot of moves are missing from Edit mode.
What I like about Fire Pro: - Out of the box, it's got an incredible roster. - There's a ton of edit packs that give players the ability to have literally every wrestler they'd ever want. - Matches are fun to watch, and fun to play. - The CRITICAL! is probably the greatest invention in any wrestling game ever. - It's possible to create most people in Fire Pro appearance wise. - Can be a great simulator of the American Junior style, as well as Lucha Libre style.
And just putting this out there: I love the Fire Pro series, but I don't get people calling it the greatest wrestling game series ever. For all the problems SmackDown has, I'd almost rather play Here Comes the Pain, SVR06, or SVR2010 over a good amount of the FPW series, with 6MS and FPD being the exceptions.
I keep hoping that we'll see a new prowres game from Spike soon, but given how bad FPR did in sales over in Japan, and here, and how below expectations Wrestle Kingdom 1 and 2 (DOR with Japanese guys, WK 2 has Gordy and Vader) did, it's not likely we see a new Puro game for a very long time.

I've created my own guys from wrestlers to a kick boxing style league and it's fun, the cpu logic really is the best part about creating guys because you set them how you want them...
I have to say the only issue I have is the lack of storyline in the game, but I find it to be the greatest wrestling game when it comes to creating guys, playing it and just having fun with it...

Yeah, but after you spend two to three hours doing movesets and appearances, Logic is the last thing you want to do, especially given the learning curve when it comes to getting them to wrestle perfectly. A story mode would have been cool.

Well I think it all depends on how deep you want your creations to be, I've gotten tips from people on Fire Pro Club in the cpu logic area that helped me out and overall taking the time to create can be really fun...

Any chance you could PM me said tips? I'll have to find them, I had them written down but will have to look... A guy gave me a basics on the cpu and then you go from there, but I have gone in my own way for creating guys now...
