Who has AO ever beaten that would lead you to believe that he's a true top 5 fighter? I would argue that AO has never beaten a top 15 opponent in his entire career. His signature wins are Brett Rogers, Mark Hunt and Paul Buentello. I'm not saying Cain would win, I'm just saying AO is criminally overrated for the calibur of fighters he's beaten in his career. Overeem can beat Cain. IMO Overeemis one of the best strikers in K-1, and is one of the best strikers in the HW Division. Every fight starts standing up, and I think Overeem might have an advantage over Cain on his feet. We'll never know unless it happens. I'll say if Cain can take it to the ground his chances of winning go up an incredible amount, but I don't see him destroying Overeem like the internet seems to think he can.

This does have an agreed upon good effect. It will kill M-1 in the U.S. Absolutely.

I think the problem for AO vs. Cain is that AO seems to have a fairly limited gas tank where it seems like Cain never gets tired in the ring. I think if the fight gets past the 2 minutes mark it will be Cain's to win.
The other problem for AO is, I don't think he could beat JDS or Carwin either.

Carwin's gas tank is just about as bad as Overeem's. That'd be an interesting fight just to see who ran out quicker. I don't think Overeem could beat JDS either.

I think that the myth of Overeem as a great heavyweight is based on him looking the part. He looks like a bad ass mofo. Kind of like Melvin Manhoef. Now Overeem doesn't suck ass like Manhoef but if I were a betting man I'd put large coin on Verdum tapping Overeem's ass within the first round.
In the UFC, Overeem is not in the top five. I'd favor most of the top ten over him. Hell, I'd favor Big Country over him.

Big Country is a tough dude- he absorbed 15 minutes of Junior's attacks.
He may not look the part, but there is certainly a reason he is in the UFC.

Overeem would be a solid heavyweight in the UFC, but the top 5 might be a stretch. Although, I could see Nelson (if he ever got the shot) taking the title off of Velaquez. Heck, Lesnar or do Santos could do that as well, if they can control the fight. The playing field is pretty even, b/c no one is super dominate. (Considering GSP in the Welterweight and Anderson in the Middleweight)

Roy Nelson is probably my favorite heavyweight, if not my favorite fighter overall.
