So for anyone who's been around a while, you might remember this. It's a PC game that's been in development for about a decade now and the guy behind it all finally posted a State of the Union. Seems we're finally gonna be able to get our hands on the beta soon. This video will bring you up to speed and there's even a little teensy bit of gameplay in this video. Also check out AxeBomber's written impressions and their test interview with Dave Wishnowski as well as their audio interview with Dave.

Newest newsletter yielded this screen: Guys sell the limb damage while standing in their idle animation. Still no word on the public beta or final release.

So to anyone interested, they've got this game up on Steam Greenlight. Basically, the more support it gets from the Steam community the better chance it has to get put on Steam. They've put up a video (which I've put below) with some beta footage and honestly for an indie game, this looks pretty sweet. The only wrinkles to it are the initial release only has 8 wrestlers and singles matches only. However, it's supposed to be openly moddable, meaning you can do pretty much whatever you want with it as far as adding in new textures and such.

This week's newsletter has some interesting info regarding Pro Wrestling X Uprising's release and the official reboot of Pro Wrestling X.
Will likely be dropping $25 to the Kickstarter.

uprising.prowrestlingx.comNo word on how much it costs but it goes live at noon EST tomorrow. If it's $5 or so, I'll definitely throw down on the beta.

First things I noticed: - There's a lot of lag between button press and the on screen action when I use my gamepad. It's a PS2 controller hooked up via USB adapter, but I have no lag when playing other games. - Like, everyone has the sharpshooter. It's a cool move but wow. - I love the old school rendering option. - Maybe add the names of the characters? It's fun saying "Motherfucker in a Mask vs. Ezekiel Jackson in Warrior paint", but I want to know the names! - I thought you would be able to jump off that balcony? I swear I've seen screens of that but I couldn't get up there. - There's no way to back out after a match other than to pause and quit. - There's no audio cue letting you know someone's submitted. Even something on-screen would be nice. - The camera doesn't need to spin after I win. It's kind of nauseating especially when you are trying to figure out how to back out of a match.
It's not great, but it's playable and there's a ton of potential. I hope they get enough money to throw in more moves but they REALLY need to add the ability to pick opponents up off the mat and strike them. Not having that slows things down a lot.

So they're doing a Kickstarter for the 'next' Pro Wrestling X game starting on Monday. This game has a different crew working on it than Uprising did and everything I've seen looks really nice. I'd just like to know a bit more about the game before I pledged anything. Here's what the graphics of the new version will look like:

Kickstarter's up now (go here if you're interested in supporting the project, and here's two interesting little pictures they posted with it: That's a comparison between PWX Uprising, which was a 'finished' product, and current PWX which is currently in alpha. This is a short gameplay sequence that outside of the grapple initiate animation, looks pretty friggin' nice.

How do you get a copy of this great game? Are you able to play it on your computer? This is definitely one that got my attention.

Of all the time that went by on this thread, I thought something might be available. Well no biggie. I'll just have to wait until it finally does come out. Nice game though.

They released PWX Uprising but pulled it down. They're hoping to have something playable out this Summer but given their track record of releasing things (not good at all), I'm not holding my breath.
