"TNA executives were in California earlier this week in an attempt to pursuit a new deal to develop a new video game for the company, according to PWInsider.
Dixie Carter and Jason Harvey met with video game producers from Activision, as they have been interested in making a game for TNA. TNA has not had a video game since 2009 since Midway was bought out."
Now I'll expand on this, Activision want in on TNA because it's a cheap license and with wrestling gradually increasing in popularity (although this is by no means a boom or even close to one) it would be an easy property to break even, or possibly profit from.
The question is who do they get to develop the game? Their best bet for a successful title, Yuke's, are being melded together with Visual Concepts with the WWE series for 2K Sports. There's literally no other successful development teams left unless they go with the guys who made All Stars, who ironically also made the very first TNA game in 2008.

Interesting points. Hopefully whoever develops the game does a lot of homework about what has worked and what hasn't in the past. If the team who developed All Stars could do something similar with a slightly toned down character look and without the over-the-top special moves, that could be a winner. All Stars was the last wrestling game I played that I enjoyed, mostly because of the old arcade feel where I didn't have to commit hours on end on a career or story mode (free time I don't have for games) to get some enjoyment out of it.

If the All Stars team were brought on, I think if they take that engine, and just add more moves and make sure everyone has an accurate moveset, the game will be gold.

I am not one to plunk down money for video games, because I never have time to play....but a more realistic All Stars game for TNA may be able to separate me from my money

We're gonna know if there's any truth to this within the next week or so, being that E3 starts on Tuesday.
