10-9-08 Stan Sheriff Center Honolulu, HI [glow=purple,2,300]PWH HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT ROUND ONE[/glow] Freddie Blassie vs. Tom ZenkBlassie completely dominated this match and put Zenk away with a SOUTHERN NECKBREAKER. Brad Rheingans vs. Butch ReedThis was an evenly matched back and forth contest. Rheingans beat Reed with a CRADLE SUPLEX. After the match, the Mongols, led by Freddie Blassie attacked Reed. The dastardly trio battered Reed with fists and boots until Rheingans grabbed a chair and cleared the ring, much to the delight of the crowd. Dick Hutton vs. Big John StuddStudd wore Hutton down outside the ring. When the action returned to the ring, Studd wasted no time and made Hutton submit to a BEARHUG. After the match, Strong Koboyashi attacked Studd from behind and rammed his head into the steel ring post outside the ring, busting Studd open. Studd needed to be assisted to the dressing room area. Kokina vs. Tom JenkinsJenkins hung with Kokina as long as he could but Kokina’s strength proved to be too much. Kokina finally pinned Jenkins with a KOKINA DROP. After the match, Freddie Blassie came to the ring and helped Kokina double team Jenkins. Blassie held Jenkins down while Kokina gave Jenkins another KOKINA DROP. Jenkins had to be removed from the ring on a stretcher. Peter Maivia vs. Iron Mike DiBiaseMaivia made DiBiase submit to a STANDING BACKBREAKER. Don Muraco vs. David SammartinoSammartino was disqualified for shoving the ref while outside the ring. Steve Corino vs. Dan SpiveyCorino was disqualified when he smashed Spivey with a chair. Killer Khan vs. HakuThis match was a wild brawl from the beginning. The action was outside the ring as much as it was inside. Both men were busted open and Haku finally put Khan away with a backbreaker. [glow=purple,2,300]PWH HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINALS[/glow] Freddie Blassie vs. Brad RheingansRheingans wasn’t pleased with Blassie’s attacks on Butch Reed and Tom Jenkins earlier in the night and wouldn’t let Blassie get any offense in until the closing minutes of the match. That’s when Blassie started in with his biting and out of the ring antics, finally putting Rheingans away with a SOUTHERN NECKBREAKER. Big John Studd vs. Kokina (w/Freddie Blassie)Studd had a bandage on his head as a result of the earlier attack by Strong Koboyashi. This was a battle of strength the whole way. These two went back and forth and could not budge the other. Kokina became very frustrated and was disqualified for throwing salt in Studd’s eyes. Peter Maivia vs. Don MuracoThese two Hawaiian favorites really took it to each other. The action ended up on the outside and Maivia missed a falling hammer to Muraco on the floor and it proved to be Maivia’s undoing because two HAWAIIAN HAMMERS later and Muraco was the winner. Dan Spivey vs. HakuHaku beat Spivey with a CRESENT KICK. [glow=purple,2,300]PWH HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT SEMIFINALS[/glow] Freddie Blassie vs. Big John StuddStudd almost made Blassie submit to a BEARHUG when the Mongols came to the ring. Geeto distracted the ref while Bepo attacked Studd with his chain. Studd released the hold and Blassie rolled him. The ref turned around and made the count but Studd kicked out at two. Studd came back and beat Blassie with a running knee choke on the second rope. Don Muraco vs. HakuMuraco missed a double hammer from the apron outside the ring. Haku capitalized and used a CRESCENT KICK to get the win. [glow=purple,2,300]PWH HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT FINAL[/glow] Big John Studd vs. HakuStudd made Haku submit to a BEAR HUG to win the PWH Heavyweight Title.

Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell)Two veteran tag teams battled it out in this one. Duk had thing going in his team’s favor early but Blair made the comeback and pinned Duk. After the match, both teams brawled until officials broke it up. Butch Reed & Brad Rheingans vs. Mongols (Beepo & Geeto w/Freddie Blassie)This was originally scheduled to be “Iron” Mike DiBiase & Gerry Brisco against the Mongols but as DiBiase and Brisco came out they started brawling. They brawled all over the arena and out an emergency exit. Blassie and the Mongols celebrated what they thought to be a victory until the announcement was made that they would face the replacement team of Reed and Rheingans. Reed & Rheingans hit the ring full boar with revenge on their mind for the attack by Blassie and the Mongols on Thursday. This was an out and out brawl from the beginning. Reed, Rheingans and Bepo Mongol were all busted open. Reed had Bepo pinned after a TOP ROPE SHOULDER BLOCK and Geeto clobbered Reed with the Mongol’s chain to draw the disqualification. After the match, the Mongols continued to beat Reed with the chain until Rheingans came into the ring with a chair and ran off the Mongols. Reed was battered and needed to be assisted to the locker room. Killer Bees (Blair & Brunzell) vs. Reed & RheingansReed was battered and bruised going into this match and it showed. Rheingans did his best to keep Reed’s involvement limited, not to further Reed’s injuries, but that strategy backfired. Reed came into the ring to break up a pin and was met with a noggin knocker. Then Blair pinned Rheingans. Southern Rockers (Doll & King) vs. Bushwackers (Luke & Butch)Luke was busted open but the Bushwackers wouldn’t be beaten easily.
