King’s Road presents ‘Champion’s Carnival: Native Bracket’ Tokyo, Japan; 20 Apr 2009 [/center] 1. Bull Nakano TLD Yumi Fukawa: In what turned out to be one of the best matches on the card, Nakano and Fukawa battled to a thrilling 20-minute draw. 2. Chigusa Nagayo/Toshiyo Yamada def. Itsuki Yamazaki/Etsuko Mita: Yamada destroyed Mita with the Dragon Suplex in under 5-minutes. 3. Non-title: Akira Hokuto def. Devil Masami: The International Women’s champ continued her hot streak as she put Masami away with a Dangerous Queen Bomb. 4. Seiji Sakaguchi def. Yoshiaki Yatsu: Yatsu, Riki Choshu’s tag partner, tried to take the company president down a notch but ending up falling to Sakaguchi’s Atomic Drop. 5. Mistico def. Black Buffalo, Great Sasuke, and Black Tiger: Mistico has been on a huge roll on this tour. As Sasuke and Black Tiger battled outside the ring, Mistico 619s Black Buffalo for the win. 6. Stan Hansen/Shawn Michaels def. Super Destroyer/Dream Machine: Hansen was able to blast Dream Machine with the Lariat before Michaels puts Machine away with Sweet Chin Music. 7. Champion’s Carnival: Giant Baba def. Yoshiaki Fujiwara: In what turned out to be a surprisingly one-side match in Fujiwara’s favor, Baba counters the Fujiwara Armbar into his Neckbreaker Drop to get the win. 8. Champion’s Carnival: Shinya Hashimoto def. Jun Akiyama: Akiyama just can’t get anything going in this match and quickly falls to Hashimoto’s Brainbuster. 9. Champion’s Carnival: Genchiro Tenyru def. Jumbo Tsuruta: Tenyru pounces on Tsuruta and never let’s up. Tenyru uses his Folding Powerbomb to get his first win of the Carnival. 10. Champion’s Carnival: Toshiaki Kawada def. Antonio Inoki: Kawada gets his first win of the Carnival as he counters everything Inoki throws at him. Kawada uses a dangerous backdrop suplex to secure the win. King’s Road presents ‘Champion’s Carnival: Native Bracket’ Tokyo, Japan; 21 Apr 2009 [/center] 1. Devil Masami def. Etsuko Mita: Match was one-sided as Masami dominated. Devil picks up the win with her version of the Liger Bomb. 2. Akira Maeda def. Rusher Kimura: Maeda makes his first appearance back in Japan count when he finished Kimura off with the Dragon Suplex. 3. Team FMW def. Hiro Saito/Black Buffalo: Team FMW looked very good in the match as W*ing Kanemura puts Black Buffalo away with his Blast Yama Special. 4. Shawn Michaels def. Super Strong Machine: In a matchup of agility vs power, Machine threw Michaels around like a rag doll. However, Michaels catches Machine barreling off the ropes with Sweet Chin Music to pick up the win. 5. Stan Hansen def. Dream Machine: Dream Machine worked Hansen over and drew blood with his ’loaded’ mask. The sight of his own blood seemed to fire Hansen up as he roared back. Hansen uses two consecutive Lariats to pin Machine. 6. Champion’s Carnival: Toshiaki Kawada def. Yoshiaki Fujiwara: Fujiwara has put fear into the other wrestlers with his Fujiwara Armbar. However, Kawada was able to stay away from the Armbar and nails the Powerbomb for the win. 7. Champion’s Carnival: Jun Akiyama def. Genchiro Tenyru: This was a match just for bragging right as both are eliminated from making the final two of this bracket. Antonio Inoki came down to ringside to advise Akiyama during the match; something Tenyru took exception to. Akiyama uses a momentary distraction to finish Tenyru off with an Exploder Suplex. 8. Champion’s Carnival: Antonio Inoki def. Shinya Hashimoto: Hashimoto needed a win to have any chance at making the final two but ran out of gas at the end. Inoki used multiple Octopus Holds to wear Hashimoto down before finishing the match with the Enzuigiri. 9. Champion’s Carnival: Jumbo Tsuruta def. Giant Baba: First match between the ‘big three’ in the Carnival. Jumbo came out and totally controlled the match. Baba tried to get back into the match but soon fell to Tsuruta’s Jumbo Backdrop. Yumi Fukawa: This was Hokuto’s last tune-up match before she faces Mickie James with the International Women’s title on the line on April 27th. Hokuto finishes Fukawa off with the Northern Lights Bomb for the impressive win. 2. Hiro Saito def. Seiji Sakaguchi: Short match that saw Saito low-blow Sakaguchi and then follow with a jawbreaker for the win. 3. Team FMW def. Old Guard (Animal Hamaguchi/Rusher Kimura): Team FMW were impressive in this one as Onita puts Hamaguchi away with the Thunder Fire Bomb. 4. Vader def. Super Strong Machine: Great match between these two behemoths. Finish saw Vader nail his Vader Powerbomb for the win. 5. Great Sasuke def. Mistico, Black Buffalo, and Black Tiger: Great Sasuke was able to overcome BB’s Buffalo Bomber and Mistico’s La Mistica. Sasuke surprises Mistico with a roll-up to get the win. 6. Champion’s Carnival: Yoshiaki Fujiwara def. Jun Akiyama: Fujiwara survives a ton of punishment to lock on the Fujiwara Armbar for the win. It hasn’t been a very good Carnival showing for the Black Japan leader; something Inoki has promised to do something about. 7. Champion’s Carnival: Giant Baba def. Genchiro Tenyru: Tenyru’s troubles continue after he gets frustrated when he can’t put Baba away. Baba takes the advantage and hits his Neckbreaker Drop for the finish. 8. Champion’s Carnival: Toshiaki Kawada def. Shinya Hashimoto: Kawada blasted Hashimoto with several ax kicks and jumping high kicks. Hashimoto never recovered and Kawada finished him off with the Brainbuster. 9. Champion’s Carnival: Jumbo Tsuruta def. Antonio Inoki: Tsuruta takes firm control of the match and counters everything Inoki throws at him. Tsuruta ends it with a bulldog. King’s Road presents ‘Champion’s Carnival: Native Bracket’ Tokyo, Japan; 23 Apr 2009 [/center] -With Jumbo Tsuruta claiming the bracket’s top spot, it comes down to the main event to decide who will be joining Tsuruta in the Carnival semi-finals. 1. Bull Nakano/Devil Masami def. Akira Hokuto/Chigusa Nagayo: Hokuto and Nagayo kept arguing with each other throughout the match and Nakano/Masami took advantage. Nakano dropped the Guillotine Legdrop on Nagayo for the finish as Hokuto just stood by and laughed. 2. Akira Maeda def. Atsushi Onita: Onita bled early in the match and couldn’t recover. Maeda used his Dragon Suplex to claim a victory. 3. Shawn Michaels def. W*ing Kanemura: Shawn Michaels continues his hot streak heading into the Champion’s Carnival Finale. Michaels is able to keep Kanemura down after Sweet Chin Music. 4. Stan Hansen/Vader def. Black Japan (Super Strong Machine/Hiro Saito): Hard-hitting match won by Hansen/Vader after a Hansen Lariat on Saito. 5. Champion’s Carnival: Shinya Hashimoto def. Yoshiaki Fujiwara: Hashimoto survived several Fujiwara Armbars to beat Fujiwara with the Brainbuster. Afterwards, the two shook hands and made a challenge to Black Japan for a match at Champion’s Carnival Finale on April 27th. 6. Champion’s Carnival: Jumbo Tsuruta def. Jun Akiyama: Even with Antonio Inoki at ringside giving him pointers, Akiyama couldn’t get the job done. Tsuruta drops Akiyama with the Jumbo Backdrop for the win. 7. Champion’s Carnival: Toshiaki Kawada def. Genchiro Tenyru: Kawada controlled the match and got a seemingly easy win over Tenyru with the Powerbomb. 8. Champion’s Carnival: Giant Baba def. Antonio Inoki: With this win, Baba takes the runner-up spot in the bracket. Inoki tried but couldn’t keep Baba down as Baba uses a Russian Legsweep to secure the win. King’s Road presents ‘Champion’s Carnival Finale’ Tokyo, Japan; 27 Apr 2009 [/center] 1. Champion’s Carnival Semi-Finals: Giant Baba def. Shawn Michaels: Shawn Michaels impressive run during his Japanese tour comes to an end. Baba repeatedly used his Baba chops to soften Michaels up. Baba hit’s the Neckbreaker Drop to advance to the ‘Finale.’ 2. Champion’s Carnival Semi-Finals: Jumbo Tsuruta def. Vader: Tsuruta is all over Vader from the start. Vader makes a comeback but misses a turnbuckle charge and eats a huge clothesline. Jumbo lines Vader up for the Jumbo Backdrop for the finish. 3. Black Tiger def. Black Buffalo: In a highly-paced match, Black Tiger got the better of Black Buffalo with the Tombstone Piledriver. 4. Chigusa Nagayo/Toshiyo Yamada def. Bull Nakano/Devil Masami: An angry Chigusa Nagayo goes on a rampage finishing Masami off with the Superfreak. 5. Super Strong Machine/Hiro Saito def. Old Guard: The Black Japan duo finish off Rusher Kimura/Animal Hamaguchi when Machine lands his Chickenwing Suplex Hold on Hamaguchi for the win. 6. Great Sasuke def. Shinjiro Ohtani: Ohtani was no match for Sasuke. Sasuke uses a butterfly suplex to get the win over Ohtani. 7. Riki Choshu def. Seiji Sakaguchi: It was an angry Riki Choshu that took on the company president. Choshu repeatedly uses a piledriver to soften Sakaguchi up. Choshu finishes things with the Riki Lariat and Sakaguchi left the arena wearing a neck brace afterwards. 8. International Women’s Title: Akira Hokuto retains over Mickie James: Mickie put up a great fight as she controlled long portions of the match. However, Mickie couldn’t put the champ away. Hokuto stormed back with the help of Jun Akiyama’s distraction and nails Mickie with a kendo stick. Hokuto hit’s the Northern Lights Bomb to retain the title. 9. Stan Hansen def. Atsushi Onita: Hansen is able to overcome Onita’s Thunderfire Bomb and storms back with consecutive Lariat’s for the win. 10. Toshiaki Kawada def. Genchiro Tenyru: Tenyru tried to save face from his dismal Champion’s Carnival showing but Kawada’s explosive kicks were the difference. Kawada wraps the match up with the Brainbuster. 11. Jun Akiyama/Antonio Inoki def. Shinya Hashimoto/Yoshiaki Fujiwara: Black Japan’s top leaders showed they could work together as a team. Inoki saves Akiyama from the Fujiwara Armbar on several occasions. Inoki uses the Enzuigiri to pin Hashimoto for the finish. 12. Champion’s Carnival Finale/All-Pacific championship: Giant Baba def. Jumbo Tsuruta: Jumbo started strong but soon was overwhelmed with Baba’s chops. The match went to the floor were Baba followed Jumbo out and did some damage on the arena floor. Back inside the ring, Baba hits his Neckbreaker Drop to win the Champion’s Carnival and the All-Pacific championship. Afterwards, Jumbo hands the belt and the trophy to Baba as the crowd gives both a standing ovation.

This editions top story is Giant Baba’s winning the Champion’s Carnival and the All-Pacific title in the process. Baba thanked the fans for their support and congratulated Jumbo Tsuruta for a well fought Carnival. Baba said in the interview that he looked forward to defending the belt and especially look forward to wrestling Tsuruta again.
Riki Choshu chose to give the magazine some choices words as he suspected the promotion was afraid to put him in the Champion’s Carnival because he would win the Carnival and the title. Choshu has thrown out a challenge to face as many Champion’s Carnival participants as he can on the next tour. Choshu says he has his sights on Baba and the All-Pacific title.
Antonio Inoki has stated he will take a more active role in leading Black Japan in the coming weeks. He stated he was disappointed in his failure to win the Carnival but was even more dismayed at Jun Akiyama’s poor showing. Inoki said that he will show Akiyama what it takes to be a great leader and will take Black Japan to new heights never achieved.
Company president, Seiji Sakaguchi, announced the May tours will be held May 8th - May 14th and May 22nd - May 28th. Sakaguchi stated that Giant Baba and International Women’s champ, Akira Hokuto, will be traveling to the United States to compete in EWE from May 18th - May 22nd. Sakaguchi said both will be back to defend their titles of May 27th. Sakaguchi also announced the All-Pacific tag titles will be filled on May 27th as well.

King’s Road presents ’King’s Road Tour’ Tokyo, Japan; 8 May 2009 [/center] 1. Chigusa Nagayo def. Chaparrita Asari: Asari opened her tour by almost eeking out a win against the bigger Nagayo. Nagayo survives Asari’s Skytwister Press to land the Superfreak for the win. 2. Bull Nakano/Devil Masami def. Itsuki Yamazaki/Yumi Fukawa: Nakano lands a huge Guillotine Legdrop from the top rope onto Yamazaki. Yamazaki had to be helped from the ring afterwards. 3. Great Sasuke def. ‘Crybaby’ Jim Breaks: Jim Breaks is making his first venture into Japan after months of crying about being in a territory without a jr heavyweight title. Sasuke took it to Breaks and pins him after a missile dropkick. 4. Canek/Cobra def. Kendo Nagasaki/Black Buffalo: Canek looked very good in this match and pins Nagasaki with the Backbreaker Drop. The Black Japan duo were overmatched in this match. 5. Team FMW def. Genchiro Tenyru/Yoshiaki Yatsu: W*ing Kanemura was able to put Yoshiaki Yatsu away with the Fire Thunder Powerbomb. 6. Super Strong Machine/Hiro Saito def. Toshiaki Kawada/Akira Maeda: Black Japan looked dominate in this match as both teams will be in the All-Pacific tag tournament later in the month. Saito uses his German Suplex Hold to put Kawada away. 7. Riki Choshu def. Shinya Hashimoto: Choshu survives his first Champion’s Carnival participant when he catches Shinya with a Russian Legsweep for the win. 8. Antonio Inoki/Jun Akiyama def. Giant Baba/Seiji Sakaguchi: Inoki got the job done in this match. Baba overwhelmed Akiyama but Inoki brought his team back. Inoki locks in the Octopus Hold on Baba for the surprising submission victory.

King’s Road presents ’King’s Road Tour’ Tokyo, Japan; 9 May 2009 [/center] 1. In the show opener, Bull Nakano def. Chaparrita Asari when Bull flattens Asari after a failed top rope cross body attempt. 2. Great Sasuke/El Samurai and Black Tiger/Jim Breaks battle to a no-contest when both teams refuse the referee’s orders to get back in the ring. They continue to battle around the ring whipping the fans into a frenzy until management comes out from the back to restore order. 3. In an exciting jr match, Billy Ken Kid wins his debut match over Black Buffalo after catching BB with a missile dropkick. 4. Canek def. Kendo Nagasaki in his singles debut, dropping the Black Japan member with the Backbreaker Drop. Afterwards, Black Japan’s Hiro Saito challenged Canek to a match series for the rest of the tour. 5. Akira Maeda continues his run with a win over Shinya Hashimoto. Hashimoto was able to deliver a lot of punishment and his Brainbuster finisher but Maeda would not be denied on this day. Maeda finishes the match with his Dragon Suplex finisher for the win. 6. Black Japan’s Jun Akiyama/Super Strong Machine hands Giant Baba/Seiji Sakaguchi their second straight loss to a Black Japan team. Sakaguchi falls to Machine’s Chickenwing Suplex Hold. 7. Riki Choshu survives against Yoshiaki Fujiwara and his devastating armbars. Choshu uses his Riki Lariat to claim the victory . 8. In a great main event, Jumbo Tsuruta beats Antonio Inoki with a double underhook suplex. Inoki had plenty of chances to win the match but couldn’t put Jumbo away. With this win, Jumbo solidifies his #1 contendership for the All-Pacific championship.

King’s Road presents ’King’s Road Tour’ Tokyo, Japan; 10 May 2009 [/center] 1. In the show opener, Yumi Fukawa def. Chaparrita Asari as Asari had a good showing but falls to Fukawa’s Crossarm Breaker. 2. In non-title action, International Women’s champ, Akira Hokuto makes short work of Itsuki Yamazaki with the Northern Lights Bomb. Yamazaki came into the match banged up and Hokuto took advantage. 3. Cobra def. Billy Ken Kid by countout after delivering a powerbomb on the arena floor on his smaller foe. BKK promised retaliation as he was helped to the back afterwards. 4. In another great battle between these two jr teams, Great Sasuke/El Samurai def. Black Tiger/Jim Breaks after El Samurai puts Breaks down with a Superplex. 5. In an exciting match, Hiro Saito def. Canek with his German Suplex Hold. Saito was able to slowly wear Canek down to set up his finisher. 6. Toshiaka Kawada def. Atsushi Onita with a brutal axe kick. Onita was able to bloody Kawada on the floor but this seemed to enrage Kawada as he blasted Onita with his famous high-velocity kicks. 7. Black Japan’s Antonio Inoki/Jun Akiyama def. Old Guard’s Animal Hamaguchi/Rusher Kimura in a dominating mugging. Inoki used his Enzuigiri to finish Hamaguchi off. 8. Riki Choshu continues his quest as he beats Genchiro Tenyru with the Scorpion Deathlock. Choshu was in trouble the entire match but storms back as he is 3-0 in his effort to prove he belonged in the Champion’ Carnival. 9. In the non-title main event, All-Pacific champ, Giant Baba def. Super Strong Machine with a Russian Legsweep. SSM had his chances but couldn’t put Baba down. Afterwards, Jun Akiyama gets in Baba’s face and makes a challenge for the title. Baba asks who he’s beaten lately to which Akiyama drives Baba from the ring with several right hands. Baba glares towards Akiyama as Inoki stands behind his charge with a smirk on his face.

Chaparrita Asari/Yumi Fukawa after Nagayo delivers a devastating Superfreak on Fukawa. 2. Cobra def. Billy Ken Kid with the Diving Headbutt. Second installment of this budding feud sees Cobra gain a rather easy win over BKK. 3. El Samurai forces his rival Black Tiger to submit to the Chickenwing Armlock. 4. Great Sasuke def. ‘Crybaby’ Jim Breaks with a butterfly suplex. Afterwards, Breaks charged the referee complaining of a quick count. 5. Genchiro Tenyru/Yoshiaki Yatsu def. Yoshiaki Fujiwara/Seiji Sakaguchi when Tenyru drops Sakaguchi with the Folding Powerbomb. 6. Canek dominates Hiro Saito in the second match of their series. Canek uses his Gorilla Press to get the win. 7. Akira Maeda continues his winning ways over W*ing Kanemura. Maeda earns the win with a capture suplex. 8. Riki Choshu def. Jun Akiyama with the Riki Lariat to go 4-0 against Champion’s Carnival participants. Afterwards, Choshu jockeyed for a shot at Baba’s All-Pacific title especially if he wins out. 9. Giant Baba/Jumbo Tsuruta def. Antonio Inoki/Super Strong Machine after Jumbo drops Machine with the Jumbo Backdrop. Afterwards, the entire Black Japan faction hit the ring and beat down their rivals. Finally, wrestlers from the back and management had to come out and break up the mugging. Company president, Seiji Sakaguchi was visibly upset at what transpired and promised Black Japan would have their comeuppance soon.

El Samurai beats ‘Crybaby’ Jim Breaks by countout after hitting a spectacular twisting senton onto a prone Jim Breaks on the outside. 3. Black Tiger def. Great Sasuke with the Tombstone Piledriver in a match Black Tiger dominated. 4. Old Guard’s Strong Kobayashi/Rusher Kimura def. Genchiro Tenyru/Yoshiaki Yatsu after Kobayashi levels Yatsu with the Canadian Backbreaker. 5. Canek def. Hiro Saito with the Backbreaker Drop. 6. Akira Maeda/Toshiaki Kawada def. Team FMW after Maeda catches Onita with the Dragon Suplex. 7. Riki Choshu def. Seiji Sakaguchi to go to 5-0 versus Champion’s Carnival participants for the tour. Choshu uses his Riki Lariat to keep the company president down. 8. Super Strong Machine def. Shinya Hashimoto with the German Suplex Hold. 9. Black Japan’s Antonio Inoki/Jun Akiyama/Black Buffalo def. Giant Baba/Jumbo Tsuruta/Hiroshi Hase after BB puts Hase away with the Buffalo Bomber. Afterwards, Black Japan hit’s the ring in full force and beats down their opponents. Seiji Sakaguchi comes out and threatens to suspend Black Japan if they don’t stop the attack. Inoki demands to know what Sakaguchi has up his sleeve for the tour’s final show. Sakaguchi states the entire Black Japan faction will face off against Giant Baba, Jumbo Tsuruta, Shinya Hashimoto, Akira Maeda, Toshiaki Kawada, and Hiroshi Hase. Sakaguchi also announces that if Black Japan loses, the wrestler taking the fall will have his contract terminated by KRW. Inoki is irate over the announcement and demands that a Black Japan wrestler get a shot at Giant Baba at the tour’s finale show if Black Japan wins.

Cobra uses a senton splash to defeat his rival Billy Ken Kid. 3. Jim Breaks/Black Tiger def. El Samurai/Great Sasuke as Jim Breaks catches El Samurai with the Breaks Special. 4. In a non-title match, International Women’s champ, Akira Hokuto def. Bull Nakano after surviving a beating from Nakano. Hokuto lifts Bull up for the Northern Lights Bomb for the finish. 5. Giant Baba/Jumbo Tsuruta/Shinya Hashimoto/Akira Maeda/Toshiaki Kawada/Hiroshi Hase def. the entire Black Japan faction. Riki Choshu made his presence known as he desperately wants that All-Pacific title shot. Kendo Nagasaki had the upperhand on Hiroshi Hase when Choshu caused a distraction allowing Hase to hit his Golden Arm Hammer on Nagasaki for the win. As per the pre-match stipulation, Kendo Nagasaki had his contract with KRW terminated.

King’s Road presents ’King’s Road Tour Finale: Tag Team Gold’ Tokyo, Japan; 17 May 2009 [/center] 1. Black Japan’s Antonio Inoki/Jun Akiyama def. Animal Hamaguchi/Rusher Kimura to advance to the tourney semi-finals. Inoki puts Kimura away with the Octopus Hold. 2. Team FMW scores a measure of revenge over Akira Maeda/Toshiaki Kawada. Atsushi Onita pins Kawada after the Thunderfire Bomb. This was Kawada’s last match in KRW before heading to GNP. 3. Jumbo Tsuruta/Shinya Hashimoto def. Yoshiaki Fujiwara/Seiji Sakaguchi after Hashimoto finishes Sakaguchi off with the Brainbuster. 4. Black Japan’s Super Strong Machine/Hiro Saito def. Genchiro Tenyru/Yoshiaki Yatsu after Saito puts Yatsu down with the German Suplex Hold. 5. El Samurai/Great Sasuke/Billy Ken Kid def. Jim Breaks/Black Tiger/Cobra after Great Sasuke pins Cobra with a Tornado DDT. 6. Black Japan’s Antonio Inoki/Jun Akiyama def. Team FMW after Jun Akiyama catches W*ing Kanemura with the Northern Lights Suplex to advance to the finals. Akiyama looked really good in the match and Inoki seemed pleased with his protégé. 7. Super Strong Machine/Hiro Saito def. Jumbo Tsuruta/Shinya Hashimoto to advance to face their Black Japan counterparts in the finals. Hashimoto looked to have Saito finished off until Jun Akiyama makes his presence known. Hashimoto chases him around ringside but gets caught by Super Strong Machine and his Chickenwing Suplex Hold on the floor. Back in the ring, Saito finishes Hashimoto off with the German Suplex Hold. 8. International Women’s champ, Akira Hokuto retains her title over Toshiyo Yamada. Yamada put up a great fight but Hokuto is able to score the win with the Northern Lights Bomb. 9. All-Pacific champion, Giant Baba retains over Riki Choshu. Choshu earned the match by going 5-0 against Champion’s Carnival participants. However, in this match, Baba overpowered Choshu using a Russian Legsweep to retain his title. 10. The All-Pacific tag title tourney final between the two Black Japan teams never took place. Antonio Inoki, Jun Akiyama, Super Strong Machine, and Hiro Saito came down to the ring where Inoki declared he had put certain stipulations into the tourney contracts dealing with this very stipulation. Inoki declared that Black Japan faction were the All-Pacific tag champions and that any combination of the four men you see standing in the ring would defend the belts. Black Japan played to the boos of the crowd to end the show.
