AWA: Montreal presents ‘Crowning of a Champion’ Centre Pierre Charbonneau, Montreal, Quebec; 1 May 2009 -The first ever AWA: Montreal show kicks off with a bang as we crown the first Grand Prix champion in an 8-man tournament. Also on the card, is a AWA World Light Heavyweight title match, as champion, Tiger Mask, defends against Eddy Guerrero. 1. Edouardo Carpentier def. ‘Big Nasty’ Angelo Mosca: The first match of the tournament saw both go after each other. ’Big Nasty’ seemed reluctant to use his ’loaded’ elbow throughout the match. The finish saw Carpentier hit his Flying Somersault to advance. Afterwards, Carpentier offered his hand which surprisingly saw Mosca accept the handshake. 2. Killer Kowalski def. Sgt Slaughter: Slaughter had this match won when he locked in the Cobra Clutch but seemed to get distracted with the handful of boos that went up from the audience. Slaughter seemed surprised at some of the fans reactions and let the hold go. Kowalski used an illegal object to turn the tide. Kowalski is able to hit a Bombs Away Kneedrop to get the win. 3. Buddy Rogers def. Adrian Adonis: The fans were all over Buddy Rogers when he came down to the ring. Buddy nonchalantly shrugged it off and proceeded to dismantle Adrian Adonis. Rogers advanced by nearly snapping Adonis’ leg with the Figure-Four Grapevine. 4. ‘Big’ John Studd def. Rick Martel: Killer Kowalski was a menace in this match as he came down to ringside and used every chance to distract Rick Martel. Studd was able to hit Martel with an Avalanche Charge for the win. 5. Canadian Mafia w/ CBP def. JYD/Leo Burke/Missing Link: CPB was the deciding factor in this one along with Mafia member Hercules Ayala. CPB caused the distraction allowing Ayala to clobber Missing Link with a chair. Jos LeDuc soon followed with the Canadian Legdrop for the win. 6. Semi-Final: Edouardo Carpentier def. Killer Kowalski: Kowalski almost had this one won but a timely mistake on a turnbuckle charge allowed Carpentier to roll him up for the win. Afterwards, Kowalski helped Buddy Rogers attack Carpentier. They focused on Edouardo’s leg and setup a double chair smash on Carpentier’s knee before order was restored. 7. Semi-Final: Buddy Rogers def. ‘Big’ John Studd: The two went at each other but it was Rogers who was able to eek out a win. Rogers uses a series of dropkicks to keep Studd down. Afterwards, Studd joined Rogers in flipping off the fans to a loud chorus of boos. 8. AWA World Lt Heavyweight title: Tiger Mask retains by pinfall over Eddy Guerrero: The fans gave both men a standing ovation as they were introduced. Eddy got a hot start and soon had Tiger Mask in trouble. Eddy hit’s a quick moonsault for a close nearfall. The match went back and forth until Tiger Mask tossed Eddy out of the ring and landed the Space Flying Tiger Drop. Things went downhill for Eddy from there. Tiger Mask was able to wrap up the match with his Tiger Suplex. 9. Grand Prix Title Final: Buddy Rogers def. Edouardo Carpentier: Carpentier tried his best but was really hobbled after the attack earlier. Carpentier did manage a couple of near falls but in the end it was Rogers locking in the Figure-Four Grapevine to secure the win and the Grand Prix title. Afterwards, Buddy Rogers announced that he would address his Montreal fans and the rest of the wrestling world on ‘Guerres de Natte’ Monday night.

AWA: Montreal presents ‘Guerres de Natte’ St Michel Arena; Montreal, Quebec; 4 May 2009 -Montreal commissioner, Eddie Creatchman comes out to a loud chorus of boos. He throws up his hands and asks is that anyway to greet the man who brought wrestling back to Montreal. Creatchman tells the fans that he has a very big surprise for them. However, before Creatchman can announce his surprise, an intern hands Eddie an envelope. Creatchman opens it and his face reddens from anger at what he’s reading. He tells the fans to enjoy the show but he has to take care of some business in the back and will be out later. 1. Steve Strong def. Savage-T: An impressive debut for Steve Strong as he toyed with Savage-T. Strong almost breaks T in half with a spear for the win. 2. ‘Crybaby’ Jim Breaks def. Brian Pillman: Jim Breaks picks up where he left off in St Louis and dominates Brian Pillman. Pillman couldn’t get anything going and soon falls to the Breaks Special. 3. Sweet Daddy Siki def. Don Muraco: Muraco must have been still in shock from losing the PNW title as Siki rolled him up in a small package to get the win. Afterwards, Muraco delivers an Asiatic Spike sending Siki to the mat in pain. -Eddie Creatchman comes back out and explains that the letter he received was from Jim Cornette’s lawyers and that an American judge has decreed that Cornette’s Midnight Express be awarded the Grand Prix tag titles. Eddie says that his answer is ‘NO’ and that an American judge isn‘t going to decree him to do anything which draws a loud cheer from the crowd. Eddie says this is Canada but before he can say anything else, he’s cut off by Vader. Vader storms out and proclaims he’s a representative of Jim Cornette’s and he’s here to collect the tag belts. Creatchman stands his ground but Vader bullies him into the corner. Suddenly, a huge man dressed in black from head-to-toe with a black mask storms out. The man charges the ring and goes toe-to-toe with Vader. Huge cheers erupt from the crowd as Vader is driven to the floor. Creatchman says if it’s the titles Cornette wants then Vader will have to go through the masked man to get them in the main event. 4. Hercules Ayala w/ CPB def. Missing Link: Link had control until CPB interjects himself into the match and trips up Link. Ayala hit’s a big clothesline for the win. 5. Non-title: Tiger Mask dq Danny Hodge: Danny Hodge was all over the AWA World light heavyweight champ. However, Hodge was resoundingly booed as he took cheap shots at Tiger Mask. Hodge brought a chair into the ring and blasted TM with it. TM went out like a light. This brought out Lance Storm who drove Hodge from the ring with Hodge promising Storm would get hurt in the near future. 6. Canadian Mafia w/ CPB def. Leo Burke/Bugsy McGraw: Burke/McGraw dominate until CPB slides Mad Dog’s chains in the ring allowing Butcher to blast Leo Burke with them. Burke is easy prey afterwards as he falls to Butcher’s Hangmen. -The new Grand Prix champ, ‘Nature Boy’ Buddy Rogers strolls out with Don Muraco and Pat Patterson to a loud chorus of boos. Rogers laughs off the boos and says he has a few things to say to the fans in the arena, to the fans watching at home, and to the wrestling world. Rogers say for too long he’s wallowed in obscurity, wrestling for promotions that didn’t recognize his true talent and ended up wrestling for obscure titles like the Wisconsin Dairy Cheese title. For the last 18 months or so, he’s been an after thought when it came to wrestling’s elite. But that all ended Friday night when he won the Grand Prix title. All that wasted time ended when he strapped his title around his waist. Rogers says no matter what it takes, the wrestling world will sit up and take notice of him. World titles are now within his grasp and he’s going to prove once and for all that he’s the ‘real Nature Boy’ of pro wrestling. The two others who claim to be Nature Boys are sad, pathetic wannabes just like these French Canadians in the audience and watching at home. This brings Edouardo Carpentier hobbling out. Carpentier challenges Rogers tonight but Rogers motions ’not for the title.’ Carpentier says fine, he’ll accept a non-title match if it means he can get revenge for Friday night. 7. Non-title: Buddy Rogers def. Edouardo Carpentier: An excellent bout where Rogers methodically stalked Carpentier. Carpentier fought repeated Figure-Four Grapevine attempts but Rogers is finally able to lock the hold in. Carpentier tries to withstand the pain but with his bad leg, he’s forced to submit to the hold. Afterwards, Rogers refused to release the hold and a loud pop was heard from Carpentier’s leg as he thrashed about wildly on the mat. This brought out ‘Big Nasty’ Angelo Mosca to break things up. Mosca and Rogers exchanged verbal barbs as the EMT’s braced Carpentier’s leg and carried him out of the building. However, Mosca was jumped from behind by Don Muraco and Pat Patterson. The trio beat on Mosca until an unidentified man jumped the security railing, grabbed a chair, and chased the trio from the ring. That man…CWA’s Bobo Brazil! It was later announced during the main event that Carpentier had sustained a fractured leg and would be out for about 5 weeks. 8. Grand Prix tag titles: The Executioner def. Vader to win the titles: It was an all out war where the fans sided with the mysterious man introduced as The Executioner. There was something vaguely familiar about the man as the announcers pointed out but they couldn’t quite place it. Vader gained the upperhand causing The Executioner to roll out of the ring. As the ref was trying to push Vader back to a neutral corner, a second masked man rolled out from underneath the ring causing a distraction. This allowed the Executioner to come off the 2nd rope with a kneedrop on Vader for the title win. Afterwards, the Executioner handed one of the tag belts to the other ‘Executioner’ as the announcers closed the show speculating just who are The Executioners.

AWA: Montreal presents ‘Guerres de Natte’ St Michel Arena; Montreal, Quebec; 11 May 2009 -The show starts with ‘The Real Nature Boy’ Buddy Rogers strutting to the ring with the rest of his crew in hand. Buddy is absolutely livid that Bobo Brazil is in Montreal. Buddy says he got rid of one cretin in Bret Hart only to have another one show up in Bobo. Buddy states that he will not defend the Grand Prix title against Bobo what so ever. This brings out commissioner Eddie Creatchman, Angelo Mosca, and Bobo Brazil himself. Creatchman tell Rogers ’not so fast, my friend’ in reference to defending the Grand Prix title against Bobo. Creatchman says Buddy won’t have to defend the title against Bobo this month but who knows what the future brings. Creatchman announces that AWA: Montreal will have a special card as Canada celebrates Victoria Day on May 25th. On that card, Rogers will defend the Grand prix title against Angelo Mosca. Rogers is upset by that news but Creatchman tells him he better not dwell on it because he faces the Missing Link in non-title action, right now. 1. Non-title: Buddy Rogers dq Missing Link: Buddy Rogers ran from Missing Link the entire match. This frustrated the Link who was dq’ed for ramming Rogers into the ringpost. Afterwards, Don Muraco, Pat Patterson, and Ray Stevens beat on Link until Angelo Mosca, Bobo Brazil, and Rick Martel made the save. 2. Mongolian Stomper w/ Skandar Akbar def. Savage-T: Stomper made quick work of Savage-T, quickly hitting a kick with his loaded boot before locking in the Shininomaki for the win. -Eddie Creatchman came out again and announced that the Montreal TV title will be filled next in a 10-man battle royal. He goes on to say that the main event will pit the debuting Bobo Brazil vs Gene Kiniski for a spot on Team AWA for the LWA/AWA PPV later this month. Out comes CPB, the Canadian Mafia, and Hercules Ayala. CPB complains that it should be Ayala in that match since he beat Kiniski at Friday’s house show. Creatchman says he’s seen footage of that match and his decision for the main event will stand. However, he says that CPB will get his wish when next week Hercules Ayala will face Kiniski and if Kiniski wins then Gene gets a match versus CPB on May 25th. Later tonight the Mafia face the Pitbulls with the winner getting a tag title shot on May 25th as well. 3. The Pitbulls def. Canadian Mafia w/ CPB: The Pitbulls overwhelmed Butcher Vachon; so much in fact, that Butcher got beat up for more than 10 minutes before he was able to tag out to the Mad Dog. Mad Dog more than held his own but the Pitbulls rally back to hit the Superbomb on Butcher to get the win and the title shot. -Afterwards, CPB ordered his crew to attack the Butcher. Mad Dog hesitated and CPB told him to choose between family or glory. Mad Dog chose glory and attacked his own brother to a huge jeer from the crowd. Butcher had to be stretchered out of the building afterwards. 5. Main Event: Bobo Brazil def. Gene Kiniski: In a great match, Bobo uses 4 Coco Butts to soften Kiniski up. Bobo gets the pin after a big hammer punch. After the match, Bobo offers his hand to Kiniski who reluctantly takes it. Bobo now goes on to take the final spot on Team AWA.

AWA: Montreal presents ‘Guerres de Natte’ St Michel Arena; Montreal, Quebec; 18 May 2009 -CPB and the Canadian Mafia are out to start the show, CPB says he’s not worried because he knows Hercules Ayala will beat Gene Kiniski tonight. Besides, if by some fluke Kiniski wins, he has the Mafia to back him up. Out comes the esteemed commissioner, Eddie Creatchman, who’s chuckling to himself. Creatchman says it doesn’t matter who wins between Kiniski and Ayala that Kiniski will still be able to get his hands on CPB. If Kiniski wins tonight he gets to name the match. If Ayala wins then the match will be a tag match with both Kiniski and CPB picking their respective partners. 1. Baron Von Raschke w/ Skandar Akbar def. Tom Zenk: Tom Zenk had to fend off both Von Raschke and Akbar during the match. He succeeded for a portion of the match but Von Raschke was able to still lock in the Iron Claw for the win. 2. Which brings us to Bret Hart, Hart can talk all the smack he wants but the truth is, Rogers is still in Montreal and Bret is not. Bret is somewhere in Kentucky playing coward with Superstar Billy Graham while real wrestlers like himself and the newly crowned Canadian heavyweight champ, Pat Patterson, are breaking people in half. Rogers mentions that if Bret Hart steps back into Canada, he will break Hart’s leg like he would anybody elses. 5. Angelo Mosca def. Rogers gets in Bret’s face but Creatchman quickly calms everything down by telling Rogers if they lay a hand on Bret, Rogers and his gang will be suspended without pay. Bret reiterates he’s here for one reason and that’s the Canadian heavyweight title that Pat Patterson is carrying around. Bret says the word on the street is that Patterson won that belt in a fictitious tournament way up in the Yukon Territories. Bret makes the challenge to Patterson to face him next week on ‘Guerres de Natte’ for the Canadian title. Patterson starts to tell Bret that he’s not worthy of a shot but Creatchman interrupts saying that Montreal has partnered up with CWA to sanction the Canadian heavyweight title.
