I've said this before, but I will say it again: It seems that as Tom really wants to be famous...and not just with us. He wants to hang with the stars at Comic Con and all that stuff. And it seems that wrestling is his dirty secret. Yeah, he still talks about it on Twitter (once in a while) because it still brings in the most money for him, but ..... I just don't get it. Frustrating

All right Antimony. Jason is practically asking for a snippet from GenCon. Go!

What Ive never understood about the whole COTG fanbase is when the Deuce was created, you heard all of the fag quitter comments. Yet when the new board was created, those same people jumped on that board quick dismissing Chris' board

That's an easy one... at the time of the Deuce, Swarm and co. were at the height of their powers... only a few of us realized they were destroying the fan base. I actually think that was the beginning of the end for those guys, when they went and made their own board after riding the Deuce so hard. Now they have to buy friends with free bootlegs or letting them make semi-official cards

The lack of a PDF for the EC set mystifies me.. there are at least 20 people that have posted in the last couple months that they want it. It would take, what, an hour to scan them? Maybe a half a days work of tweaking the files to make everything nice? That's got to be worth it! Don't even get me started on Cotgonline.... It's funny you say it's a pain to travel with the cards... I actually find that to be a really easy thing to bring with me when I travel... one little stack of guys (whatever fed I'm playing), the 3 charts, dice, and a notebook and I'm good to go.... less weight than a novel (of which I always also have a few) and the wife doesn't cry I'm depriving her of facebook by taking the laptop. Quick follow up... My thoughts about travel are shown by two issues... The first is a trip to DC for a week...I had set up my cards to have a huge debut of a few wrestlers...and I forgot to bring the new guys... The second is that its a bit difficult to play with dice when you are waiting in an airport....easy to do on a computer (no internet, of course). Again...to each his own. Graymar

You guys will enjoy this... picture it.. it's mid-January, and I decide I really miss the LWA, and post on the board that I'd like to get it going again. Because I thought it would a good way to draw some new guys in, I resolved to keep it on the official board, and start with just the official guys, I figured 5 or 6 territories would be possible. I got 9 PMs in about 15 minutes from people that were interested (I couple of you guys, a few others). I also got one from Paint, saying he would 'allow' me to run the LWA if I promised to him I would tell everyone not to use desktop ever again. I answered nicely, saying I would happily follow the rules and not mention it on the board, but I wasn't willing to tell people what to do. He promptly deleted the thread and said if I mentioned it ever again I would be banned. I then poliltely pointed out what Dustin just said... that you could easily get the charts off the free demo from LowOnline, and use pretty much any guy you want (including most with official cards) without spending a penny thanks to his thread contains all the bootlegs, so what was the harm in desktop? This was his response: Still whining like a child with a litany of nonsense.
Bottom line: If you waste my time again either publicly or privately with your silly temper tantrums it will be your last post on this board. It's up to you.
This just ticks me off... I have had no problem, really, with any of the guys...and I have had a good relationship with LWPD. Recently, I helped him accumulate pics and data for Wayne Crosby's excellent WGX card set. I clearly told him that my information was on desktop...and I sent him actual files from desktop...he never said a word to me against desktop...or warned me about using it. Does he think that everyone is taking the data that he has posted and printing/making their own cards? That is...fooolish. The whole design is best used in desktop. Graymar

The really funny thing is that Larry Swank designed online from the Desktop.

The really funny thing is that Larry Swank designed online from the Desktop. The similarities are very obvious...did they seek permission/purchase of the rights or anything from desktop? Graymar

I am sure they did. Knowing Larry, I am sure he would not have proceeded unless he knew, in good faith, that he would not be infriniging upon other's work.

As I understood it the creator just gave it to Tom to use for online. It's the same program with a few bells and whistles.

First, about LWPD... it's personal. I don't know why, but he genuinely doesn't like me. I offered him the WGX stuff before you did(I happened to be on when he posted the message), and he never answered me.. no 'thanks, but I'm all set', no 'fuck you, I'd rather die than take help from you', nothing. As far as travel goes, I agree about the airport.. taking out dice and cards like that is rough... easy to lose stuff. I read during the actual travel,mostly...I'm talking more in the hotel room at night I hear you about forgetting guys, though, I've done that before too.

I will say this...
Last month I was the promoter spotlight and mentioned the fun I had right here...in LWA...
I have had very little contact with anyone on the board since...maybe its a coincidence...maybe not.

Yeah, I was gonna use that as an excuse to shlep the LWA on the board, but then I got banned.
As far as desktop goes, the guy that created it gave the code to Tom... how willingingly he did so, and what Tom said to him at the time is anyone's guess.
I do know that despite LWPD's hatred of it, Kinsman Games' site has posted recently (well, not that recently, but after online came out) that he has Tom's full blessing to distribute desktop.
