They just had this film on AMC during the John Wayne Satruday's and it's a very good film and one of my favorite Wayne War Films...

last two movies I saw in the theater
Salt - lost interest it before the movie was halfway through. There's really not much to it. Angilina Jolie works for the CIA and is accused of being of a double agent. Her fellow agents chase after her for the rest of the movie and she escapes at the end. I'd give this movie a rating of blah.
The Expendables - not a horrible movie but it didn't live up to all the hype. It was pretty much what you would see in an 1980's action movie

I saw Salt a couple weeks ago... (Wasn't up for Inception)... it was clearly trying to be a Bourne movie, but it wasn't really there. Decent action bits, but the plot was pretty obvious from the get go.

A friend of mine saw it and just raved about the movie - he even said that it was so well written...anyone could have played the lead role...then again...HE hates action movies and loves chick flicks...he also loved the Miley Cyrus movie. As to the Expendables, which I haven't seen either, being a 80s action movie...I think that was the point...they wanted to do a retro type film since they were not being done anymore...at least that's Stallone's take.

This is a great heart felt movie about a son trying to reconcile with his estranged father who is dying. The son is trying to find the truth about his father's life and how he was born by sorting through his father's various fairy tales that include a robber reincarnated as a giant catfish, a friendly giant named Carl and a witch who has a magic glass eye that shows how you're going to die if you look directly in to it.

Good call, Todd...I love this movie as well. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-d-kjzBmz6I

Just watched this on AMC, it really is a good western and both Douglas and Hudson are really good in this film and most films with Douglas are really good...

Movies over Labor Day Weekend: Decent idea as a followup...but really missed Mandy Patinkin Is this the best 'Guys" movie ever? I would rank Rocky as #1 and Rocky Balboa as #2 in the Rocky series. Not a big James Dean fan. You know he only made 3 movies, right? Probably his defining role. Really not a chick flic...but a dark comedy. Jason Bateman does well in this movie. Bill Murray's best work...by far...though I do have a soft spot for Lost in Translation...but that wasn't really a comedy.

Rocky and Rocky Balboa are two great films and really don't need to see the others...
Juno rocks, great funny movie...
Ghostbusters is a funny film, but for me it doesn't make it through the test of time like other classics like Caddy Shack...

Rented Kick-Ass and The Losers this weekend to watch with a friend. Kick-Ass, man I only knew a little bit about what people were up in arms about this movie, mainly the little girl swearing her face off. Holy frak the killing! The language! We were about half shocked at everything, but still laughed about the whole way through it. It was a little disturbing but we definitely like Kick-Ass.
The Losers I got because it's an obscure comic book movie. Not very good at all. We laughed or made fun of it in some places but it's nothing great.

The Losers isn't a very good comic either, so no surprise it's not a good movie.
Love the Original Rocky... don't recally liking Rocky Balboa that much, though, but maybe it was just the sour taste of Rocky V.
Ghostbusters rocks... great movie, and a great cartoon. (the real one, of course)
I definately want to catch Kick-Ass at some point.. it looked pretty awesome.

I watched these over the holiday weekend The best movie of the series and the only one that's even halfway believable. I also read the novel years ago. Great movie based on a true story I hadn't seen this movie since I was a kid and for some reason thought it was good. I watched it again this weekend and wondered why I ever thought that. I like Hitchcock movies but this one I dont care to see again.

I don't know what I was thinking yesterday when I said that Ghoostbusters was Bill Murray's best film by far...I forgot all about this one where he was just as good (if not better).
