This one is open to any wrestler that came with 2090, including new cards of older wrestlers.
My vote is for Death Masque. This was a huge upgrade for Death Knight. He was more of a contender with this upgrade and I really liked they way they took his character!
Honorable Mention to Star Warrior and The Glads for their upgrade. Pulsar was iffy for me, never really did much in singles.
New card would be Iron Mane. I loved his card and he could give the Main Eventers a good show

Pulsar Prime, hands down. It helped that I played him as a sort of Shawn Michaels-ish cocky type, and swapped out his finishers for the SUPERKICK (0) and the MASTERLOCK (+1), learned from Thantos himself.

When the set first came out, I was hoping Iron Mane because, eh, the AniMen didn't do it in their feud against the Gladiators.
Mane was basically Spike's plaything, so I felll out of favor with him
Looking back now, I'd say Pulsar. I did think Omega made Nexus look like a little b*tch when he wanted Pulsar to "graduate" to the FDF (like the Titans were a second rate team)

(like the Titans were a second rate team) Well, isn't that true?

(like the Titans were a second rate team) Well, isn't that true? Well, lol, point well taken I always thought it was weird that Nexus, etc. were such sycophants to Omega...like "Ohhh, we know our feuds aren't important Omega. Here ya go! You are the one who is fighting for what's right. Krakan and Darkos, bah. Not important."

Yeah, 2090 is probably my least favorite set.... it just doesn't make alot of sense.
The Titans get buried, and are forever after "the team of flippity mid-carders that sometimes have a decent tag team", where in 2087-2088 they were on par with the FDF, IMO. The go back and forth feuding with Krakan, or Darkos, or both, seemingly whoever doesn't have something better to do. "My evil plan A has failed.. what now? I know, let's take out the Titans!" Funnily enough they never lost Sudden Death, which tells me that the fans at the time liked them, it's just Tom that seemingly didn't. This is one of the big things I hope to 'fix' with my re-start if I ever get that far.
Having the Space Croppers Titans for a year was the first of many 'I need to have the teams equal even if the story doesn't make sense' moves that Tom made that really hurt the 2090s.
Iron Mane has awesome art, and a cool concept, I loved him until I flipped the card over, and his stats weren't even in Spike's neighborhood. I always thought as a LION he could have been a power guy to Wolf's speed guy, and been a great long time feud for Spike, but I think Tom liked Wolf too much.
Same with Death Masque. great art, cool concept, lousy stats. At least in his case it makes sense since he was SO bad to start with.

2090 is a great set as it really showed the potential that COTG as a concept had.
Now, I feel that Iron Mane was a solid upper mid-card wrestler. He was a match for 2088 Spike though. 2088 Spike was a 34 according to Rahl's ratings and Iron Mane is a 38. I loved Iron Mane as you finally had that guy that was a credible threat to anyone and always had good matches.
I'm going to defend the Croppers in the Titans. The Titans have always been about nurturing young up and coming wrestlers and this was a perfect example of the Titan philosophy. Pulsar had achieved his peak as a wrestler so they encouraged him to move to the FDF while they tried working with Terak and Renegade. It obviously didn't work due to Terak's general shittiness.
Now, let's get into my biggest bitch with 2090. The Masked Assassins. In my fed they had huge momentum coming out of 2089. The Blood Brothers were a high level team and Executioner was doing okay as a singles. Then, the teams got flipped around and we're stuck with Executioner/Splatter and Pit Viper/Death Masque. Those teams just didn't do it for me and neither team seemed to capture the magic of the Blood Brothers for me.
The All-Earth Squad was never something I was big on. It just seemed some guys got left out in the cold and so they were teamed up together.
Matter and Anti-Matter were a great team.
Overall, this set really started the transition of the GWF. The Greek Gods weren't a top level team anymore, Krakan wasn't as important. Overall, I liked the set more than I liked 2089.
