Protip: Don't try to rehash one of your greatest angles (Summer of Punk) with someone who is clearly not capable of playing that character (Tyler Black). We all know he's losing to Roderick (btw, the match is no DQ now so if there's a bigger way to spit in Roddy's face than forever making it seem like he NEEDED to cheat, or NEEDED Truth Martini to beat Tyler Black, then I don't know what is), so why even try to drag it out like what they did with Punk? At least Punk's promos didn't suck. At least Punk didn't suck as a wrestler. At least Punk had the ability to make people believe that he was losing the belt at any given event to any given opponent. Sure, it's not a direct rehash of the angle...but goddamn couldn't they just leave well enough alone, let Roddy break him in half, and send him on his way?

Could it be that Strong is not liked, like others in the company and so they are giving him this rehash angle before Black moves onto the WWE...
I've liked Strong as soon as I saw him on the debut iMPACT! on Spike back in 2005, this guy should have been ROH Champion a long time ago...
I don't know if ROH will ever get over that hump, from what I've heard from guys who are big ROH fans have said that ROH is stuck in neutral and not going anywhere and they hope Delirious and Cornette can help but they said they don't think so...

I didn't watch Monday's show yet.. but I did watch last weeks... Roddy didn't look that good, to be honest. I was surprised he won... Richards seems like a more viable champ. I wonder if there's any chance Black will win, and they'll vacate the belt and have a tourney of some sort.

Wrestling fans NEED viable options in order for it to survive in the long run

ROH has been good, even great this year in some cases. Since they're running fewer shows, there's fewer bad ones. Hell, they had a great show in Dayton in April. (Put that in perspective: There's only ever been a handful of great shows from them in Dayton, and most of them were in 05/06.) They had two shows this year that people consider among their top shows ever: Supercard of Honor V and Death Before Dishonor VIII. Most of the ROH fans I know say that they're better off now than they were in 07/08/09.
Even still, I think it's shitty that Roddy's in the position to be the first guy to have to cheat to win the belt. It almost makes me wonder why the fuck they bothered not putting the belt on Richards at Death Before Dishonor, then again he's going to be in Japan for a lot of September.

Having the RoH champ tour Japan would only be a positive thing for the prestige of the title, though.
OTOH, they can have him come back and be the 'savior' and take it off Roddy toward the end of the year... that might work, too.
I hadn't watched in a while before last week... maybe I'll go back and get a couple of the PPVs and go back some on the weekly show.
