I wonder if they've ever considered trying to work out a deal with a fed, rather than the indivuals... something like the NOW set, but on a bigger scale and with less crappy production value.
Small time feds I would think would like the extra exposure, and it could get FG to a new set of people... even a small group isn't a bad thing

I have to admit, having posted on some kind of FIlsinger boards for, gosh, 10 years...I've seen some beyond stupid comments, but this is definitely top 5 The poll also favored Dundee because he's the only wrestler from his era. All the others can steal votes from one another, due to their time period of wrestling. Truly unfair, IMO. Not that the poster is stupid or anything like that (please don't think this), but this statement is beyond pathetic, ridiculous and sad.

Who knows if Tom is reading the replies on the poll or not, he could just look at the votes. But I wouldn't expect any future polls to have more than 2 names after the way this one went.

I guess he's trying to say that us older guys had a clear choice with Dundee... and all the 'hip' young folks were split between the other guys that are all from the mid-late 90s. I think 'unfair' was a bad choice of phrase... in that it's only unfair because Dundee was just a clear choice. Maybe he's trying to say that he's mad the other 4 guys didn't really ever have a shot? TBH, the whole voting thing is dumb. I'd have picked Meanie and Albert over Val Venis, for instance... I'll bet that's the case for quite a few people. I'm sure there will be other announcements that are less exiting guys than the losers in the poll. All it does is make some people sad that a guy they like is signed but doesn't get to have a card.

Yes, the booking is bad, blah blah, but they have some great athletes and fantastic wrestlers. I'd be willing to pay $20 instead of a $10 for a TNA set if a deal was made to have a chance at some of the Legends that could be in there

Personally, AAA is so desperate to branch off into the US, I'd bet they would have handed the rights off to their guys to Filsinger for next to nothing.

I know back before FG decided to drive him out BDS was hinting at doing something with RoH, but I think that was all him.

I personally wouldn't want LOW guys to be available in the promoter. I don't get the promoter and would not want to have to order it just to get a wrestler. If the guy is offered as a pdf, fine, I have no problem with printing my own guys and would even pay for them.
As for the vote, I'm an older guy and remember watching Dundee in his short run in JCP but I still voted for Bernard. I dont mind them letting us vote for guys with the knowledge that the losers may not be in a set for a while cause im patient but I can see how it may be frustrating to some.

I was the one who mentioned re-approaching Vince on the other boards.
Stating up front that I no nothing, I'm sure that WWE and TNA have licensing departments. At the Jim Henson Company we have one and if someone wants to make a product using a character, the approach the licensing Department, pay a fee to use that character and then make the product. I'd assume Tom would just have to get in touch with them and they would give him a price.
I'd also assume that price would be pretty hefty and probably more than Tom was willing to pay unless he wanted to roll the dice on hitting mass market appeal with the game. TNA might have much lower fees though. They do have a great iPhone game they licensed, so they may be up for it.

Seeing as Tom doesn't pay Werner, the Olsons, Swarm, Ty, BDS, or Knapik for their work I doubt he'd be up for that. I'm shocked that he hasn't had Werner do a Legends or CoTG set. Everyone would still but it and he could fuck over Werner like he does all the community members.

Right when I started college I thought of moving to California to try and work with the Muppets or move to Orlando to be a costumed Disney character I was the one who mentioned re-approaching Vince on the other boards. While many would like the WWF, I think the markup would be too high for many of the customers. I think TNA would be a better choice since I think they would be more than likely to want the visibility and the cost wouldn't be as high. I'd pay up to $20 if we could get the rights to some TNA guys (leave the booking to me please) I think a WWE set would run us over $30 and that would price out the majority of players since I think alot like this game (besides the creativity aspect, etc) to the good price, BUT Seeing as Tom doesn't pay Werner, the Olsons, Swarm, Ty, BDS, or Knapik for their work I doubt he'd be up for that. I can "understand" some of the others due to the love and it's not "much work" to do the stats for the cards. I mean, who doesn't like watching the matches. I do all the time But the art and online aspect...that's a lot of time consuming work. I'm surprised about that. Never heard that.

Tom fucks him like the rest of the community does by underpaying him for bootlegs. I don't know the details but BDS was supposed to run the official board but Tom tried to bend him over and Larry told him no thanks and hence, he's gone. It's too bad, really, because I was in line to be a mod. That would've been sweet. I could've been the anti-paint!!

I know Werner has been paid for at least some of his work. He told me at the con that Tom owed him some money.
