Here we go.
Fortune vs. EV2.0: **. Decent match with everyone getting their spots. This angle is stale, though.
The Pope vs. Abyss: **. Another decent match. Abyss is a better worker than most any other big guy in the USA, and Pope moves pretty well too. Some good highspots helped. The swerve was dumb though I must admit, although maybe this is a backdoor to get the younger K-Dog Burke in the door for a feud with Pope, freeing Abyss to fight someone else (Morgan perhaps). Not sure what you thought was so awful in this match Switchfoot. RVD/Dreamer was substantially worse, nevermind the debacle that was Kane/Taker at Hell In A Cell.
As an aside, Christie Hemme wants to get a word with Sabu, and Stevie Richards says that "Sabu doesn't have anything to say." That's comedy GOLD right there for this old school ECW fan.
Samoa Joe vs. Jeff Jarrett: **1/2. I have really digged Jarrett since the formation of Immortal, he is getting back to the Jarrett I liked back in the day in WCW ("Choke on that, slapnuts!"). So maybe I am biased but I liked this match. I liked the matchup of styles and both men worked really well. Hopefully we'll see more of these two together.
Side note, Phil Shatter (Murphy) took not only as nasty looking Muscle Buster but also a rope-groin shot that looked like it hurt like hell! I would have liked to see Joe hit the Muscle Buster on Mikeal Judas (Gunner), but it was not to be.
Matt Hardy vs Matt Morgan: *1/2. I will say this -- I may not be sold on Hardy as World Champ, but I am sold on him being either insane or on drugs. Now then. Not much of interest in this match. Pretty lackluster, sad to say.
BTW, referee Jackson James is actually the son of Eric Bischoff. I hope they don't reveal that! Although maybe they are going to do it considering the fake kickout spot after the Carbon Footprint, or the fact that the new guy was reffing the main event in the first place.
During an interview on a wrestling podcast back before Bound For Glory, Eric Bischoff said that one of the problems which TNA faces it the lack of energy in the building due to the smaller crowd. I have to agree with him after watching this show. Had this been a better sized crowd, this would have come off better. Still, like Bound For Glory before it, this was an old-school WCW style PPV, where the bottom of the card had better work on it than the top, but all in all I thought it was alright despite the poor main event.
