Either way LOW 10 has a good blend of wrestlers, it will be interesting to see the mystery card...

I have never been a big fan of not knowing what I am paying for. I ordered the set, but it is still annoying not knowing everyone in the set.

While it doesn't really bother me either way...
I think my druthers would be to have one or two cards that I didn't know about.
What does very much reduce the impact of finding a Sheik or Koko B. Ware card in the set that you didn't know about...is that you will find out from the boards anyway...most times before you receive your cards.

I'm gonna use Muldoon as an authority figure, seeing how he was the first New York State athletic commissioner.
With the set going down to 10 cards, I dislike the mystery card bit. Also, with 4 LEs what the hell was the point of going from 12 to 10 cards?

That's easy... 10 regular cards and 4 SEs = more money received per person. It seems FG's current plan is to get more from it's existing customers, rather than go find new ones.
I think a mystery or two is fine for the GWF, since it's story driven. You don't by the set because Thantos is in it, you're getting the next chapter of a story... much like if you were buying the next issue of a comic.
For LoW, it's not a story. it's a bunch of real guys. No one would ever sell a basketball board game with 'mystery teams'.. or any other sport. It's just the FG guys overly enjoying the 'I know something you don't' thing.
There is a fair number of people on the O board expressing displeasure, though... more than I would have thought, in fact.

Someone on The O board had a theory that the mystery card is Chris Benoit and it's the mystery card because a lot a people wouldn't buy the set if they knew he was in it. I've had issues with some things that Filsinger Games has done over the years ( I.E The LOW Dark Menace card) but give the people at Filsinger Games alot more credit than that. Doing that sort of thing would be unacceptable to a lot of people ( including myself) and turn away a lot of future customers. I just noticed that they confirmed the mystery card is not Benoit

I don't think he'd do Benoit, unless he thought it would generate some publicity for the game. (which it just might). While I can why you'd boycott, I personally think it wasn't ENTIRELY Benoit's fault what happened.
One thing I guarntee is it wouldn't be a mystery card.. that would give you all the detriments, and none of the benefits. T
He clearly lost his mind due to multiple concussions and not caring for them(the part that's WWE's fault).. perhaps with some steriods mixed in(the part that's not). if there's any good side to what happened, it's got Chris Nowinski and his foundation enough credibility and funding to make sure concussions get taken more seriously in contact sports. You could definitely defend it that way... giving the guy a card for his place in Wrestling History.

I tend to think that Tom would do a poll on Benoit and let the promoters decide. But I doubt they would do it now. Maybe 10 years from now or so.
But I tend to think Invader and Benoit are two cards that you'll never see in the game.

If a Benoit card was sold as a special edition with the proceeds going to some sort of charity or worthy cause it would go over better with people IMO. I know Tom did something like this with a COTG card a year or two ago
