RVD/Yano is a hardcore match now. Not sure why SSS hasn't updated yet.

It should also be noted that matches 0-1 and 0-2 won't actually air on the PPV. They'll be on the official release of the show.

Yeah, the "match 0" nomenclature is fairly standard for a Dark Match in Japan.

Yeah, the "match 0" nomenclature is fairly standard for a Dark Match in Japan. Yeah, but not everybody knows that.

Yeah, but not everybody knows that. And why the heck not? Hell if I know why not everyone knows it. There's a chance someone at the show records the matches and/or they somehow end up airing on NJ TV.

Personally I was surprised to see Tonga work the Dark Match instead of King Fale, especially with fellow Blue Justice Army member Inoue in the match. I've seen a few of his matches against Nakanishi and Tonga, he moves pretty well for a big(ger) guy, and he has a good look. Especially for NJPW. I could see him as one of their foreigner mainstays (mainly because I don't see him getting a deal with TNA or WWE any time soon).

I was disappointed that they went with Nagata/MiSu one on one when the originally rumored match was Inoue/Nagata vs. MiSu/Masakatsu Funaki. Still, any match with MiSu and Nagata is a match I want to see.

Still, any match with MiSu and Nagata is a match I want to see. I agree, especially with the last part. Yuji Nagata is one dude who always brings it. Same goes for the second to last match, Togi and Tanaka have beaten the ever-loving crap out of each other all over Japan and I don't expect this match to be any different. I am also assuming that Tanahashi will take the belt back from KOOOOOOOOOOOOOJIIIIIIIIIIIIMA, although I suppose there could be another challenger NJPW wants...

I was hoping Goto would get the title shot, but they jobbed him to Kojima and Tanahashi, which sucked because Goto had just got a big win over Nakamura in October. I'm starting to think Goto's never going to win the title.
I could see Tanahashi winning it, too, but I want Koji to keep the belt.

Goto doesn't do much for me. If I had to pick between the three of them I would let Tanahashi take it back, then have Goto go over Kojima at some point to set up him and Tanahashi. *shrug* Who knows.
Frankly I want the belt back on Togi, I love the very concept of him as champion, but he can get over without it just as well. Ironically, he's like Tanaka; given an opportunity I think he could gain a strong fan following over here like Tanaka did back in ECW. His style translates very well and his persona is an easy one to get behind. (The fact that he emulates and idolizes one of the most well regarded legends of wrestling helps in these matters.) WWE would never utilize him but someplae like ROH could get a ton of mileage out of him, really play up the Brody aspect.

Jushin Thunder Liger & Hector Garza vs. La Sombra & Mascara Dorada
This match would have been really something a few years ago, but these guys have seen better days.
But: IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title: Prince Devitt (c) vs. Kota Ibushi Might be the match that steals the show.

Jushin Thunder Liger & Hector Garza vs. La Sombra & Mascara Dorada This match would have been really something a few years ago, but these guys have seen better days. Sombra's only like 20 or 21 and in the prime of his career. Your statement does, however, apply to the other three. It'll at least be worth a watch. I've got my money on that being the match the gets the most hype and falls short. It'll be great, but I think the main event is going to be better given Koji/Tanahashi had an awesome match in the G1. I was so happy when Makabe won the belt, and I agree with everything you said except the thing about ROH. They don't seem to want to use any Japanese talent anymore, and I don't think the fans would be all that receptive to a Japanese guy who doesn't fit what they think a Japanese guy should be (ie KENTA), case and point would be Morishima though that's an entirely different guy and situation. If anyone's interested, I'm going to be looking for a stream and/or posting download links to whatever gets uploaded from this show.
