Jushin Thunder Liger & Hector Garza vs. La Sombra & Mascara Dorada This match would have been really something a few years ago, but these guys have seen better days. Sombra's only like 20 or 21 and in the prime of his career. Your statement does, however, apply to the other three. It'll at least be worth a watch. Agreed regarding Liger and Garza. I haven't seen much of Dorada. Maybe La Sombra will go over to build him up some? You may have a point there, I sort of follow ROH in fits and starts so the detail of their promotion is lost on me for the most part. But my thought is that is that the ROH fans are the ones who are most likely to appreciate an homage to Bruiser Brody than any other group of fans, but since it is unlikely that he will make a tour in the US any time soon it's all speculatory. Definitely interested if you can find a stream.

MAKABE!
I imagine we'll see some footage of the matches with the TNA folks in them on Impact in the next few weeks, but I will see if I can find a stream for this one.

IIRC, they didn't show any 1/4 footage when they sent a few guys over in 2009. The reason they did it in 2008 was because a good percentage of that card was NJPW vs. TNA. Stream's not gonna happen, the event is already over. Download links, yeah.

IIRC, they didn't show any 1/4 footage when they sent a few guys over in 2009. The reason they did it in 2008 was because a good percentage of that card was NJPW vs. TNA. Stream's not gonna happen, the event is already over. Download links, yeah. By "stream" I meant a streaming video upload site. I have had a lot of luck with international sites for finding stuff. If I find one I will let you know. And I don't think we'll get full matches but we might get clips, especially with RVD and Hardy both going over and a program being teased between them. And now some notes from Strong Style Spirit: * 47,000 fans, if true, make this the biggest Tokyo Dome crowd for New Japan since the 1/4/04 show seven years ago. * Hiroshi Tanahashi reclaims his place as “ace of the universe” and leads New Japan into 2011 after ending the brief reign of Satoshi Kojima today. Tanahashi pinned Kojima with his High Fly Flow to begin his fifth reign as champion, much to the delight of the Tokyo Dome. * As expected, the Makabe vs. Tanaka match, like their others, was very stiff and physical, with some weapon usage and big bumps. Makabe replicated his IWGP Heavyweight Title defense victory over Tanaka from last year, pinning him following a King Kong kneedrop. * Nakamura achieved revenge on NOAH’s Go Shiozaki, kicking out of the Go Flasher then brutalizing Go with strikes en route to a Boma Ye victory. * Naito fell short of beating Jeff Hardy for the TNA World Heavyweight Title but such a big match on a big stage is sure to mark the beginning of a big year for the NO LIMIT man. * Young hope Kazuchika Okada returned, looking much bigger and stronger, and going toe to toe with Sugiura and Takayama, even backdropping Takayama. As expected, he eventually lost but made an impression on his return. * New Japan’s 2011 advance on the USA was announced after the sixth match. “NJPW INVASION TOUR ~ATTACK ON EAST COAST~” was formally announced with three shows: 5/13 New Jersey, 5/14 New York, and 5/15 Philadelphia. * Devitt once again held on to the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title in a tremendous match against the man he defeated in the Best of the Super Jr. final last year, Kota Ibushi. Devitt’s victory was his fourth defense of the prestigious belt, and all have come against outsiders. * In a rematch from the first ever “WRESTLE KINGDOM” titled show, Nagata earned his long awaited revenge over old rival Minoru Suzuki, pinning him with a backdrop hold in 16 minutes. * Yano vs. RVD was a hardcore match and was said to have entertained the fans as they used a lot of different weapons before RVD scored the win with his frog splash. * En route to the New Japan/CMLL shows coming up later this month was a special tag match featuring three Mexican stars and Liger, with the lucha libre style on show and a surprise outcome as Liger was pinned. * The opening match on camera for the IWGP Tag Team Title was said to have been quite exciting due to the fast pace for a heavyweight three way tag, Bad Intentions once again retaining the belts as they fended off Seigi Gun and one of America’s top tag teams from TNA Wrestling, Beer Money Inc., Anderson pinning Robert Roode.

TNA's Facebook implies they're going to have clips of the TNA matches later.

Three years ago I was at the dome! The announced attendance, or maybe paid attendance, was way more than the number of people actually there. I'd guess it's like that again unless anyone here who follows closer really thinks 47,000 fans were there.

This card sounded pretty good, but I know that I will never see it unless someone comes up with a DVD copy

This card sounded pretty good, but I know that I will never see it unless someone comes up with a DVD copy Dan Ginnetty, Fredo from SlamBamJam, and/or Jeff Lynch should have it in pretty soon. I'd recommend Ginnetty because he's pretty friggin' awesome in his own right, but Fredo and Lynch have always done right by me.

Thought a lot about these, star ratings for this show.
Bad Intentions/Beer Money/Muscle Orchestra: **1/2 Dorada & Sombra/Liger & Garza: *** Tenzan/Iizuka: *** RVD/Yano: *1/2 Nagata/Suzuki: ****1/2 Devitt/Ibushi: ****1/4 Goto & Okada/Takayama & Sugiura: **** Hardy/Naito: DUD Nakamura/Shiozaki: ***1/4 Makabe/Tanaka: ***3/4 Kojima/Tanahashi: ****1/2
The only disappointment for me was Naito/Hardy though it was at the same time exactly what I was expecting. It's a shame Hardy didn't even feel like trying, then again I have my doubts he was even sober. It's nice to see Naito being given a push though, he's been a favorite of mine for a long time. His match with Tanahashi from 10/11/10 was great, I'd recommend seeing that if you see Hardy/Naito and want to see that Naito is actually capable of putting on good matches.
