Two weeks straight I've enjoyed iMPACT! from start to finish while I just can't stand the WWE's direction...
My only complaint are the Knockout Matches, they are so below the level they once were...
Now I'm going against the grain and this has nothing to do with his personal demons, but I really like Jeff Hardy has the Champ and Heel. The main event tag match was good and all four men have a good role in TNA. I'm glad to see Kaz getting a good push, Matt Morgan in the main event is another good move and I've become a Mr.Anderson fan or Asshole...
Jay Lethal winning the X-Division title was good, loved the AJ attack on Williams. I was laughing with the EY and Orlando tag match, funny stuff...
Double J Double M A is the best thing Jarrett has done in sometime, loved his dojo of guys and how he used Angles entrance...
The Bully Ray stuff is decent and it's cool that Rob Terry is back and the hint him going Immortal is good too and good to see RVD wrestle...
Overall TNA for me has a little of that magic back...

Eric Young's battle royale bit was awesome. The crowd's chant of "Brian Cheated!" when Brian Hebner rolled back in the ring after he was "eliminated" made it even funnier.
The Big Bully Dudley stuff is entertaining enough, and I liked that Red was not just squashed. This goes with how over the last month, Shannon Moore didn't get squashed against Abyss (casket match) and Jessie Neal didn't get squsahed against Jarrett (submission match). Bubba looks like he has is having a lot of fun out there. Same goes for Jarrett. This gimmick is so great, and having Jarrett back as the jackass heel is delightful. Lethal and Robbie E is very WCW Cruiserweight Division stuff, just the way it is booked and shot and all that. You imagine this has to be leading to a mixed tag match.
Speaking of WCW, I really dug Bischoff in this episode. His pretapes were very well done, especially the one with AJ Styles. The AJ/Williams brawl was good as well, including Madison and Tara screaming at AJ the entire time. Tara trying to throw a shoe at AJ and COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY MISSING was a nice touch. (Also, London Brawling is coming back!)
I'll agree with you regarding Hardy as a heel champion, CC. I don't know that I buy him as a World Champ, but I buy him as being either insane or on drugs. I liked his promo during the opening segment right up until he said "Be there or be triangular." I am still trying to figure that one out. But it was a good promo, easily his best non-pre-tape since getting the belt. The main event itself was alright. Good use of the injury pschology.
Can anyone ID the members of "Team Jarrett?"
Bottom line is that Impact is not breaking any new ground here, this is standard "SARSA" stuff like the good old days when Nitro was the best show on Monday. There's nothing wrong with that because this stuff works, and right now it is working.

@ijacone I agree with you on Hardy's promo being good, Jarrett as the cocky jackass with his Double J Double M A shtick is great! I also agree that TNA not pushing the envelope is not a bad thing, it's a good thing. Another nice thing is you pointed out is the WCW vibe, I'm tired of people saying TNA should do their own thing ( I'm one at times in the past ) when yes they copy at times, but they are doing things differentially and in their own way...

I tend to find IMPACT to be the more entertaining show, because I like the storylines better on TNA. Not to say that RAW doesn't have some good to great stuff once in a while, but they disappoint too often. I think of it this way: my students might be awesome at math, but I assume they will all suck at it...why? because everytime I think they will step it up, they let me down. They will come through sometimes, but most of the time they are just lazy sacks.
WWE has done that as well. I know that WWE will step up the game now and then (the Old School RAW comes to mind), but too often they don't deliver.

Also, one more thing which I enjoy about Impact is that they are willing not to mention someone or an angle for a week if it doesn't fit the narrative. IE, Miss Tessmacher on this week's episode after we hadn't seen her for a while, but it picks right back up where we were the last time. Or, Tara and the Bucks, which started a few weeks ago and then nothing until last week. That to me is more realistic than forcing a mention of every angle every week.

@ JJ I agree that iMPACT! entertains while the WWE has glimmers of goodness, but they've had more bad moments then the TNA of late in let downs...
@ Ijacone Oh I agree now that TNA's style of stretching storylines is a great thing, I've been using that concept more in my NAWC CB3/SB4 fed...
It will be interesting to see if Genesis will be good, it may not seem like it on paper but the last two iMPACTS! have been solid and are building up to a possibly good ppv...

I once cared about the ratings, but now it's not a factor since iMPACT! keeps it's average loyal viewers at 1.1 and in the end thats a good thing...
I have to say it would be nice to see Beer Money win tag gold and feud with another team, it would be good if TNA puts together some new teams to challenge for the gold other then just MCMG...

@cc: while TNA has had some "bad" stuff, I find it (as a whole) more entertaining. The good more than balances out the bad. And the last couple of Knockout Matches have been better. Not as good as they used to be, when they were show stealers, but better. ljacone: The stretching of story lines makes me think of back in the day, when a guy could disappear for a tour of Japan and then step right back into a feud. So instead of it being a hot-shot 1 to 2 month thing, it could go over half a year or more. I also think TNA is more willing to modify a feud to keep it going, instead of this month Orton and Cena hate each other so much they are willing to kill each other and then next month, they are teaming up. The WWE did a decent job of this with Cena and Batista when they had their series of matches right before Batista left.
