Ugh! Just read that Chad Ochocinco wants to face Marvin Lewis in a Cage and of course TNA has offered to host the match at Lockdown in April...
I hated these lame gimmick matches in WCW and TNA keeps it rolling, even the WWE stoops to these at times...

I hated these lame gimmick matches in WCW and TNA keeps it rolling, even the WWE stoops to these at times... Yep, WWE's totally done this kind of thing. They've totally had a football player face his coach in a cage match, all the time, man. I think it's main evented the last ten or so WrestleManias. No, but seriously. The only times WWE's ever done it on PPV was Bigelow/LT and Mayweather/Big Show. I guess McMahon/Trump if you count that too. They've done it on TV, but it was never even near as stupid as anything with Pacman Jones, Jenna Morasca, or this cage match. EDIT: Here's the article for those who haven't heard: TNA wrestling just released a statement this morning offering to assist in the public dispute between Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Johnson (OchoCinco) and Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis by booking them in a steel cage match at the TNA "Lockdown" PPV in April. TNA's statement is a direct response to the following comments OchoCinco posted on his twitter page on Monday."Me and Marvin Lewis in a cage match, set it up, I've earned my stripes on my helmet it's time to fight then play"
TNA is willing to take care of any legalities and train both Ocho and Lewis, to make this match happen. In my opinion, this is brilliant marketing on part of TNA. The public feud between Ocho and Lewis has gained national attention and TNA's interjection will surely get them some attention as well. I personally would like to see Chad "OchoCinco" Johnson take up TNA on this offer and make a few appearances over the next 2 months.
I'm sure the Bengals' ownership will not let this happen but I'm interested in seeing how Ocho Cinco responds to TNA's offer. Perhaps, we can get a tag-team of OchoCinco and Terrell Owens. Talk about desperate.

WWE also did the Wrestlemania II battle royal with football players. I think it's lame but football and wrestling have always crossed over. I mean, football players used to moonlight as wrestlers up until the mid 80s or so.

At least they were in there with wrestlers, not a football player vs. a fucking coach in a cage match.

I agree that TNA offering to hold this concept is horrid, but I didn't like Malone vs. Rodman to LT vs. Bigalow to Pacman Jones to the actor from Napolean Dynamite being involved in a match whether it was on TV or at a PPV and whether the match was long or short, they all were idiotic to me...
