Like I said when Legends X came out, I'm more interesting in truly 'new' guys... those there aren't already good boots out there for... the fact that they are 'offical cards' or not doesn't matter to me.
Why? Well, here's the thing. Who's signing the guys? Vegas, Grant, Ty and co.... all unpaid. Stats and book? The Olsons.. who (I believe) are unpaid, and who, in some cases, have already published stats for the guys. So that leaves the art, which is nice, but still. Seems like we're donating to Tom out of the goodness of our hearts. His involvement is what, to process the orders I guess? I'm not that good.

Anway, I wish it didn't take years to get these cards.

Honestly, as much as some of us want them, it just doesn't make sense to put out too much too soon.

I agree.
10 to 12 cards a year is cool with me. I'd rather have the game for years and years to come than all at once.

I'm grateful to anyone Tom and anyone else who signs wrestlers. I think the passion for the game has really grown beyond Tom's expectations which is great IMO.

I disagree 100%. There's enough people that buy everything FG puts out to make the sets at least marginally profitable... I'm pretty certain of that. If they don't think so, they can do some pdfs... then the cost is just the art... they'd have to sell, what maybe 25 of them to cover the art? Heck, Grant and Vegas probably do that on their own.
If you have 50 guys signed... put'em out. You make some money. You hve a bigger library of guys, which has the chance to draw in just a few more fans, and just a few more wrestlers... it builds on itself.
But the biggest issue? The wrestlers themselves. I'm sure they talk to each other. Is FG a big topic? Probably not. But picture this... Vegas goes up to some PWG star he likes to get him to sign, and the guy's standing next to Kenny King, who was signed probably 2 years ago (maybe 3) and still doesn't have a card. The guy is interested, by King says 'Don't do that Shit, man, it's bogus. I signed like 3 years ago and nothin' happened'. Signing lost. That sorta thing can get around. Would it? Probably not, but just the possiblity would be enough, IMO.

Isn't LOW their biggest seller by a big margin? Maybe there's a fear of killing the golden goose.

Money now is better than money later. I mean, I guess that's a possibility, but I'd say wrestling isn't exactly building popularity these guys... some day it could be gone all together.. why not get as much as you can out of it before that happens?

When it comes to releases, I have two views. If the wrestler is a legend that's been retired, I can have him/her now or down the road. If it's a current wrestler in the indies, I want him/her now. Why would I want some of the ROH/Chikara talent years later when they have either moved on or are not that character at all anymore.
Honestly, we should have been getting the previously released wrestlers that can be added online long ago. We'd be caught up with who has been released that can be online, and FG would have more money. It would be so easy for them to add LOW guys now that it will be going to card art. We should have recieved Legends 10 online by now.
* This is in the LEGENDSonline thread. This post if for both threads.

By the way, what legends (not of the future) are signed that we know of that have not been released? Blue Meanie (not that legendary ), Kurgan, J.J. Dillon, and who else?

I never thought about it that way wildfire but you have a good point. I know Tom likes to put out the sets with a theme like teams and international but maybe he should just let that go and put out sets with numbers.

By the way, what legends (not of the future) are signed that we know of that have not been released? Blue Meanie (not that legendary ), Kurgan, J.J. Dillon, and who else? There was been a few polls.. most of the losers aren't out. Kenny King and Giant Bernard for sure, in addition to the ones Dustin said. (checking polls...) Colin Delaney, Grizzly Redwood, and Tim Donst. (All Chikara though, so they could be there). Evan Lewis. Ty's said on a few occassions he's signed enough women for a set of their own. TM said when LOTF 3 came out, he had enough guys to do 4 if Tom green lighted it. I suspect though, that some of those probably are in the Chikara set. It's all very secretive (Another thing that boggles my mind, but I digress), but based on what people have said, I'd guess that have 30-40 guys and girls signed that don't have cards. @ Todd: I don't think anyone at FG has either, hence the problem

I'd use Delaney in LOW as a low-low-low carder. I bet they wait and use all the Chikara guys in the color set. I forgot about Giant Bernard, who I damn sure hope is in the next set! Heck, you want to make people mad (but may make people buy online and cardstock), have an unreleased guy debut with LEGENDSonline Series 4. Wait, we get Blonde Race, Afro Snuka, and Playboy Hennan.

I'd guess the number is a little higher WF, of people signed. I've got over half that number not signed, and not just women. Names for LOW that didn't get in the poll when I compare to who did makes me think they won't ever make it all.

My thing with Legends.
There's no reason that we shouldn't get around 20 cards a year. There are tons of guys signed and some of them like Giant Bernard could be time sensitive. I would rather they rush out a Bernard SE/LE and actually get him than lose out on him.
I don't see why they can't do a regular set in December and then give us 4 cards in July and maybe throw another release of 2-4 cards in somewhere else during the year.
