How do you feel about the condition of you cards? I'm anal about it but half the time the cards get to me just thrown in an envelope. Anyone use protective sleeves? I've thought about it.

I dont use sleeves but put them in comic book bags and close to 100% of my cards are in top shape, infact my 2090 cards still look the same...

I laminate all the cards. Wal-mart sells laminating machines for around 20 bucks. The paper costs around seven bucks for a pack of 20 sheets. You can also go with the smaller laminating pouches

I have say my TNE fed in one stack and I use the old blank create a wrestler card at the bottom of the pile or I cut the same size of a comic book backing board with the glossy side down to protect the bottom card and then slide in the pile of cards into the bag and wrap the open side from right to left on the bottom side of the pile. So the comic book bag for comic books traditionally is vertical with the opening at the top, but with the cards it's horizontal and it's perfect...
I don't overload to the point where the edges bend on the cards, but a good size roster of 70 or so cards is a decent amount in one bag...

Unfortunately before I discovered laminating, some would get a drop of coke or something spilled on them. I fully admit I'd be too lazy to keep putting them in sleeves, etc. Once I'm done with a card, I simply put them together now and just slap 'em together with a rubber band Plus, I have kids now. When there's a battle royal breaking out, I don't have the time to put them back in sleeves etc. But mostly its laziness.

I laminate all my cards. It's an amazing option.

I worry about laminating mine, b/c I don't want them to fuck up. I have a laminating machine and stuff, but have not gone that route. I used to laminate the bootlegs to be double sided. A tag team (example, the Dudleys) would be one laminated card.

Started laminating my stuff after I saw someone else do it at a GalactiCon, maybe around 2095/2096. I bought a laminating machine at Staples, and I found an awesome deal on the sheets at www.laminator.com. I used to pay $20-30 for 100 sheets at Staples, but you can get 300 sheets for $18 at this website due to their "buy two, get one free" sale. I did check out some of those sleeves lots of promoters have picked up. I wasn't sure how the laminating process would treat the color cards, so I used the sleeves on them. They're pretty cool too, but they do add some bulk to your card pile. Jason, I've only had one screw up in all my years of laminating. I accidentally laminated two cards together, but I was able to pry them apart and run them back through with no damage.

I used contact paper on a couple of the sets... but mostly I'm with Trav... my cards are in a box with rubber bands around them. All that stuff is nice, but I like to use my free time to play, not do 'maintance'... just one of those things that annoys me.
Not very good, I suppose, but practical.

My sister is a teacher and has one of those machines, so when I get a new set, I give them to her and she laminates them for me and gives them back. The best kind of maintenance is when someone else does it!

She owns her own laminating machine, and I give her a little money for the sheets and she does the laminating for me.

I laminate them and then cut the card out of the plastic with an xtco knife. It takes maybe an hour or so a set. But all of my time investment paid off the first time I spilled coke all over my cards and charts and it wiped right out.
