I was thinking with all the dumb remakes over the last ten years or so what are your thoughts on a big budget remake of this film with modern technology ?

Yeah, but it would be all young, pretty ppl in a remake and the whole God thing would have to be in the background or left out b/c they would have to "re-imagine" it.

True but I think if the movie had a director like Peter Jackson it would work

TC is such a classic it needs no remake, it's something I wouldn't want to see...

Unfortunately, while I get where you are coming from todd, Christianity as a whole is seen as a "bad thing" in Hollywood. Pretty much any Western faith is seen as bad while most Eastern faiths are seen as good or "true." So a story so crucial to both Judaism and Christianity would most certainly not fly.
Always amazing to me that for a town purportedly controlled by Jews, Hollywood is very Anti-Semetic. Of course, certain elements of this country seem hell bent on convincing the rest of us that there is this huge current of Anti-Islam sentiment in this country when the number of Anti-Semetic hate crimes outnumber the number of Anti-Islamic hate crimes in the US by a margin of 10 to 1...
