Old Timers (18-20) vs. Pre-Americans (21-9)
Pre-Americans lead the series two games to none

Game 1: A back and forth series opener that saw the Pre-Americans take the game in the bottom of the eight. Ted Lyons had blown the save in the top of the eighth, but a two-out RBI single by Al Simmons off John Clarkson gave the Pre-Americans a 4-3 lead.
Game 2: The Pre-Americans ran away late as a close 7-5 game became a 14-5 laugher. Babe Ruth hit a grand slam and a three-run homer to give him seven RBI. Lefty Grove pitched a complete game for the win. The Pre-Americans hit one home run off all four pitchers used by the Old Timers. Ed Delahanty had four hits for the Old Timers.

Game 3: The Pre-Americans gave its entire starting infield and catcher the day off. They knocked Tim Keefe out of the game after five innings following Babe Ruth's second grand slam in as many days. Candy Cummings couldn't hold a late lead for the Old Timers.
Game 4: Al Spalding had the Old Timers up 2-0, but a four-run eighth put the Pre-Americans in front 5-2. Rick Ferrell hit a three-run homer to give the Pre-Americans the lead.

Too bad the pre-Americans and the Post nationals already played You decide that series record is the primary thing, or winning pct? Be a fun controversy if it stays like it is Neat that Kansas City has come on... it would have been sad if the Negro teams all stayed on the bottom.

I've been going by winning percentage. Hopefully it won't be controversial at the end. Two teams have more wins than the first place team so it looks screwy in a way.

Round 7 Best of Seven Series
Washington Homestead Grays (12-28) vs. Pittsburgh Crawfords (13-27)
Series is tied one game apiece
Series Recap G1: Washington 3, Pittsburgh 2 G1: Pittsburgh 11, Washington 10 (11 inn)
Game 1: Pitching dominated the series opener with Big Bill Foster going eight innings, giving up 10 hits and four walks but only one run for the Grays. Willard Brown hit a two-run homer in the top of the first for Washington.
Game 2: A ridiculous back and forth slugfest with nine home runs hit in the game. Cristobal Torriente's two-run homer for Pittsburgh tied the game 7-7 in the bottom of the eighth. Washington went ahead 10-7 in the top of the 11th on the third home run of the game by Josh Gibson.
The Crawfords scored four in the bottom of the 11th to win the game. Roosevelt Davis faced five batters and didn't record an out. He walked a run home, Spot Poles singled a run in and a wild pitch tied the game. Bill Byrd came on, still with no out, and intentionally walked Bullet Joe Rogan to load the bases. Torriente and Pete Hill each lined out, but Frank Warfield singled to win the game.

Rogan has been a superstar for me... no idea why. He had a 3 game series where he had 3 homers (2 game winners) 7 RBIs, AND pitched and got 2 saves.

Another incredible high-scoring game. This time it was the Detroit Stars overcoming a 9-3 deficit to win 16-14 and stay alive in the series down three games to one.
John Donaldson pitched six innings of relief for the win, allowing two runs on two hits with four walks. Phil Niekro gave up five runs in one inning out of the bullpen to take the loss.
Oscar Charleston drove in six runs for the Stars. Bernardo Baro entered the game in the second inning and went 3 for 4 with three RBI.
