LOL! So does it run Bejeweled Blitz and Scrabble even faster? (that's all I've ever seen anyone do on an iPad)

Got mine a few weeks ago to run videos for a show I produced videos for. Then I used mine the entire time I was on the road last week in Florida. Was awesome. Even filmed another troupe member's audition that she mailed back to her agent to submit and the agent LOVED it. It really is an amazing tool. Those who say it's not aren't using it right. My laptop has become my home computer and I just take the iPad everywhere.

OK. So I can use it right, can you guys recommend some apps/uses that would be practical for me in the real world. I'd like to feel justified in the purchase and not feel guilty for buying a glorified iPhone.

I have a Galaxy which I love.
Try Comixology. The comics look great and they're cheaper than the print stuff.

I enjoy my Galaxy as well, but it won't let me play the pbp on cotgonline. It won't show the picture on the left column, so the pbp doesn't recognize that you have selected anyone. Frustrating.

There's a ton of good games. Get Infinity Blade if you get nothing else. Use it for work. Store contacts, use the calendar for appointments, and use the reminder app for tasks. Or, if you need something more robust for tasks, get Remember the Milk; I downloaded it last night and found it to be surprisingly powerful for a free tool. The Bible app for it is incredible. It's an amazing study tool. GoodReader is great for PDF files. I've got all of my gaming PDFs on it and wouldn't ever use them any other way. If you're into making music at all, there are a bunch of great apps for it. GarageBand is really good and simple to use whether you know music or not. Then there are a bunch of advanced tools like guitar stomp box modelers, drum sequencers, and Korg synthesizers to add on to it. Read! Use iBooks or Kindle and get a couple of good books. There's practical stuff you can do, too. There's a great app I use to keep my checkbook, and it's also my grade book for school, too. Play COTGonline. This is me talking as a fan instead of as the developer, but I've had more fun playing on the iPad than I've had with COTG since I was twelve. Most of what was broken I fixed yesterday, and what I didn't fix (like the PBP sim) I will fix in the course of time. That should get you started beyond Bejeweled and Angry Birds.

I enjoy my iPad 2. I mainly use it for reading comics and browsing. However, I still use my laptop because I can't upload images to photobucket or use flash.

BDS: my comment above was in no way a dig at you. I was just stating facts. I was thinking about getting an iPad, but not enough cash to do it. If only my school would join the 21st century, I would hsve one through school (as would my students). Other districts around here are already doing this through a program with Apple.
