That is Wicked Good with the background, I really like that style and Cabana's card with Finlay's are the best in that use of background style...

This is one case where I feel Werner's Cabana art may capture Colt a little better.
I realize that the images in the background are the same image as the foreground, but the larger image on the right looks more like Colt (to me) than the main image in the center. Perhaps shrinking it down does a little to blur details that make it 'Colt'. I'm sure it's just some odd optical illusion.

Yeah, shrinking it down seems to have blurred and "closed up" some of the fine linework around the nose. It's a great likeness judging by the image on the right.
The color image captures the fun-loving attitude Cabana portrays in the ring, but it's definitely more of a caricature than a straight photo likeness.
Neither one really got the hair right, IMO, but both look good.

It does a better job of capturing his personality though. The LOW art is great, just doesn't look as much like him in the main drawing. To my eye. This all being said, I'm a H O R R I B L E artist and could only dram to draw a quarter as well as EITHER artist here.

Seems like all of Stanley's card have that type of background thing, which is usually good but I don't know if it has to be that way on every card.

I think both types of art fit really well for their respective products.

My biggest gripe with the LOW art is that his bandana says LOW instead of "Cabanarama" or whatever is actually on his headband now.

My biggest gripe with the LOW art is that his bandana says LOW instead of "Cabanarama" or whatever is actually on his headband now. I know nothing, but that may have been something Colt requested. I don't know any specifics but Tom said that Colt was great to work with but had a certain way he wanted things done. You can tell from his podcast he's very business minded. So the LOW on the Headband and the BANG! (or whatever it says) on his singlet, may have been at his request. He may not have wanted it to say his 'catchphrases'. You'll notice the card he's going to sell exclusively through his site DOES say Boom Boom. The one he's not selling doesn't. Again, I know nothing. Just throwing out theories, however misguided they may be.

I think he actually has a singlet that has BANG! on it, though.

I think he actually has a singlet that has BANG! on it, though. Quite possible. I'll ask him on Sunday at the NWA Hollywood Tapings. Ive never seen it did and just thought it said boom since that's his catchphrase.

I dont think it looks as bad as the LOW ( big letters) on the Austin Aries card
