WWE announced a new TV show for the Ion Network called WWE Main Event. The weekly show will air on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m.
The show will largely fill the broadcast gap taken when Superstars was canceled last year by WGN and NXT was canceled by Syfy.
The show debuts on 10/3. It'll be a "B" show similar to Superstars. With NXT no longer being taped on Tuesdays, the most likely scenario is that either Superstars or Main Event will be taped before Raw on Monday, and the other show will be taped before Smackdown on Tuesday.

Ion's like the old UHF channels we all watched when we were kids all the time, only as a cable network. The do lots of syndication.. I've seen Burn Notice and Psych from USA on alot recently.

They sometimes showed the UFC prelims when Spike wasn't carrying them.
But now it is re-run special

Show debuts next week with the 'first ever' meeting of Sheamus and Punk as the main event.

Its being taped after Smackdown tapings on Tuesday for next day airing. That's the info I have seen. A big champion vs. Champion for the debut. We'll probably get a big drop in quality matches after that. If you think raw or smackdown is bad now, main event will be worse and nose dive from there.

Main Event is supposed to be like Superstars, just with upper-card and main event talent wrestling instead of mid and lower card guys. It'll also be streaming on Hulu.

I liked the show a lot. CM Punk vs. Sheamus was a really good match.

It is amazing how much hype can fit in 1 hour.

I liked it. I think they'll have to go away from that really quick but it made the match seem like a big deal. And the match delivered and was appropriately epic for what they were going for.

Seems like this might be the format going forward. It's cool but at a couple of points I felt like I was watching WWE do the Sinclair ROH TV format, for some reason.
