Jay Briscoe is the only dude to beat a member of SCUM in a big match situation. He's as good a challenger as anyone and there's actually a chance, albeit not a great one, that he wins the title.

The problem with this SCUM angle is they really lack a face with the credibility to take them out.

Steen won't be losing the belt anytime soon now that they expanded SCUM. They probably plan to take him to Final Battle as champ now.

SCUM will run rampant until RoH wisens up and hires La Parka to save the day.

Haas vs. Benjamin is no longer happening since Haas retired.

Any reason for his retirement?

"- Charlie Haas announced that he was retiring during Ring of Honor's house show before his match with Jeff Louis Neal. Haas came out to the ring and a long promo about his time in wrestling, saying that he had done enough in the industry. Haas worked the match and then after it was done he cut another promo without a microphone, yelling it to the crowd while someone from the ROH staff tried to get him to come to the back and got flipped off for their efforts.
Haas took shots at Delirious and Kevin Kelly during the promos "for all the things they say" about him and called Kelly a "fat piece of shit." He was reportedly shaken and cried during the match as well as later in the locker room; he changed and left quickly after he was done."
He later tweeted, "Officially retired. No match against [Shelton Benjamin] next week NYC. Time to be a full time dad and husband. I've turned my spandex in for scrubs. Thanks to all the fans throughout the years. I love you all. Stay safe and God bless. WGTT will always be a top Tag Team, forever."

Per a friend that was there, Charlie said he'd "beat the fucking hepatitis out of Nigel."
Fuck him.

Honestly, Charlie Haas had two good runs in his entire career. Team Angle and teaming with Hardcore Holly. So a roughly 15 year career and that's the best you can come up with.

I wouldn't consider either of those runs all that good, either. That's the hilarious thing.

Per a friend that was there, Charlie said he'd "beat the fucking hepatitis out of Nigel." Fuck him. Seeing as how Nigel is now apparently hep-free following treatment, that was a pretty "safe" insult. I think what happened in Asheville was a perhaps drunk and upset guy finally reached his breaking point and had it out with ROH management and quit. I think that comment mid-match was his (possibly intoxicated) idea of working to draw heat, but the stuff before and after seems to have been legit.

I wouldn't consider either of those runs all that good, either. That's the hilarious thing. I thought the Haas and Holly team was one of the more entertaining things on Smackdown at the time. Granted, I give a lot of the credit to Holly on those grounds. Aside from that, that's 8 months of a 15 year career. I honestly don't know why RoH kept him around. Shelton Benjamin is the catch. No one ever gave a fuck about Haas.

The funny part is Shelton was only in ROH as a favor to Haas.
