Kobashi beat Joe. Misawa won whenever he came over. I think Liger did too. The DG guys beat some top guys at the time, they just never got any belts.

Misawa came over ONCE and wrestled NOAH guys both nights. Liger beat Danielson before Danielson was one of the top 3 guys in the company (late 2004 Danielson was NOT a top guy) and when he came back, he lost to Austin Aries. The DG guys didn't go over anyone that was a top guy. They didn't beat anyone on the Danielson/Nigel level. Roderick and Aries were the biggest guys they beat and they were the tag champions.

There's your NOAH matches, Ishimori vs. Roddy and Elgin vs. Marufuji (WHY?!) on the TV taping the next day.

Elgin vs. Marufuji... I agree. Seems like they have a wealth of other options. Elgin won't get a rub by beating him with a U.S. audience. Might as well chuck him in there with Cole or someone.

Marufuji might be off the show, apparently he hurt his knee a couple of days ago.

Yep, he's off the shows.
"- In very unfortunate news, multi-time GHC Champion Naomichi Marufuji suffered a very serious knee injury over the weekend in Japan and will not be able to compete at "Border Wars 2013" or the TV Taping the following day. Ring of Honor officials are hard at work looking for a replacement for Marufuji and will have confirmation soon. Get well soon Marufuji!"

I wouldn't call that unfortunate. Marufuji vs. big man matches typically suck ass.

He's had good matches with Morishima but Morishima and Elgin are two very different guys.

I've never liked Marufuji's heavyweight bouts in NOAH. He just doesn't approach it right I think. I don't know, I've just never liked him or KENTA that much.

Indeed. Eddie/Ishimori will bring the moves, for sure. I kind of hope they get Suguira for this weekend. Suguira vs. Davey and Elgin would both be a lot of fun.

I know we've said it before but they really need to cut back on the number of iPPV shows a year. They really struggle to come up with compelling shows on a monthly basis.

Also, where the fuck is Cliff Compton on this show. And Jimmy Rave or Rhino?

Jimmy Rave is probably one of the members of SCUM that Elgin/Lethal are facing.
