I was curious on this one. I don't think he's what an LOW Scorpio would look like but I imported him to my ECW anyways. Despite being a little underpowered on his ratings, I think he'll still perform to about where I think he should perform.
Just curious if anyone was using him in LOW or just keeping him in the LOTF.

If I use him in a Legends capacity, I'll be doing some modifications. I have publicly disputed his agility rating, as it is entirely too low for even a current 2 Cold Scorpio. I changed it to -1. I suppose by LOTF you are referring to the "present day" universe of Chikara/ROH/CWFH/CZW since LOTF is a dead brand, and I do think that's where this card fits in best.
If you wanted to do a early to mid 90s Scorpio, I think -2 or -3 ag would be in order. I'd personally consider switching his ropes to "A" and make the "down-3" on level 2 defense a "hurt-2" and/or make one of the reversals on level 2 defense "2 COLD SCORPIO-2" instead of the double "1" reversals. His offense hasn't changed too much and I think the "moveset" is pretty much spot-on for the existing NPWD pack, so I don't think I'd do much as far as changing moves around.

A little modification could make Scorpio into a tag partner for Bagwell too.

He has a good offense and a solid defense. Like I said, I think he's underpowered but he'll perform where I think he should.

A little modification could make Scorpio into a tag partner for Bagwell too. That would be pretty easy since the offense doesn't change much, but the Bagwell card would have to be fairly heavily reworked.

Do they have the rights to Scorpio now or was this a situation with like RoH where they can use him for a set but can't make other cards.

There was chatter from Tom F about the possibility of a Legends card down the line, so I must assume that they have a deal with him for future cards (or at least the channel is open to negotiate a deal with him going forward).

It makes no sense to me how, if this is true, that a wrestler for a company getting a game set is available but not for something like a seperate Legends card. They all have to sign the form. Now, I will guess Chikara is a special situation as probably the majority of characters Quackenbush created so he controls the name. Everyone in the Shimmer set signed the game form, Prazak didn't give permission for them himself.

A lot of those guys may have had a deal with ROH that allowed for them to release merch using their likeness, and that's the only way we got cards for some of them.

I guess I can see that could be the setup. Still just seems off to me, maybe the notion of indy guys under contract.

RoH fancies themselves to be a little bigger than they really are hence the written deals.

RoH fancies themselves to be a little bigger than they really are hence the written deals. Well, they are owned by a fairly large broadcasting company and said company has put a lot of money into the product. It only makes sense that they'd want to lock up certain talent under contracts to protect that investment. There are FAR smaller companies that sign wrestlers to contracts. The ROH guys are not under exclusive deals, but they do have contracts that give the company first priority on booking dates and apparently disallow wrestlers from appearing on iPPV or broadcast television for other companies.

They've been doing written since their failed attempt at PPV in 2007. Gabe was trying yo be cute at the time. Actually he's been doing that shit with DG/Evolve which is really ridiculous. I would be fine if RoH was tying up their champions short term. But this newer wave of indy companies wanting to do written deals is a joke to me. I still consider RoH an indy.

I thought about using 2 Cold Scorpio in LOW but I have so many guys I am using/not using he is best fitted to be used in my NWA Hollywood and ROH feds. I have him as a journeyman right now and wrestles where I need him when I need to fill out a card. If he starts doing awesome in one place then I would leave him there and see what kind of impact he will make. Otherwise he will just continue to move from fed to fed.

The only thing those contracts prohibit is ROH dudes working on other companies TV shows or PPV (TNA, WWE)/iPPV (Gabe). Gabe's contracts allow you to work WWE/TNA on tryouts and you can get out of the deal if you get signed and much like with ROH, the only iPPV you can't appear on is ROH.
