I'm surprised it took him this long.

Funny how it goes from all the rumors that Jarrett would see his power increasing if the Carters sold to him quitting the company entirely.

There are rumors he quit to take over the company with a new group.

Jarrett still has an interest in TNA in that he is an investor. I have also heard the rumors maddog referenced above.
Jeff Jarrett is an interesting case in wrestling, not unlike Triple H. He was a very competent wrestler, and a perfect perennial secondary (Intercontinental or US) champion. He caught crap from a lot of fans when he was pushed higher in WCW and because of his role in TNA as part-owner/champion. The truth is though, if you watch him from his prime and judge the man simply on in-ring talent it's hard to objectively call him anything but a very good wrestler.
I'd kind of like to see him as part of a new ownership team and with him in a non-wrestling role with more creative input.

I think the amazing part about Jarrett is just his consistency over his career. He's been wrestling since the mid 80s and he can go better than guys that are 15 years younger than him.
Another person on another board asked if another promotion could have gone national like TNA. I said no. Jarrett for all of his faults gave TNA a certain stability at the top of the promotion while it went through it's growing pains. Looking back, he really gave that company everything and no one appreciated him for it. And for as maligned as he was, he did walk away from being the focal point of the company in 2006.

Even as a "Memphis guy", Jarrett never did it for me. Good in the ring, but horrible talker/voice; bad hair, bad ring attire. Never should have risen above IC level

I've have always been a big fan of Jarrett. I give him kudos for what he did with TNA in the early days before the Bischoff/Hogan era began. I turned it off and stopped watching the moment those two showed up. Jarrett doesn't get enough credit for what he has given to the business. I only hope one day we can get him in Legends!
