"working so low on the Mania card" YOU'RE IN A FUCKING FEATURED MATCH WITH TRIPLE H. The thing is, though, that's, at best, 3rd from the top, under the title match and the Undertaker match...debatably below Lesnar-whoever and Bryan-whoever, depending on the card and the build up. Hell, I could see it opening... Well Taker's probably facing Brock and Cena/Wyatt is the obvious co-main. Fourth from the top isn't bad at all. It guarantees he'd have one of the matches actually given time.

If a guy is fourth from the top, that's a mid card match. Even being on the biggest show of the year is little consolation if a person considers himself, or the fans consider him, a top level or main event talent. In that situation time isn't an issue; you'd probably rather do a solid eight minute match in that slot because the payday isn't going to change if it's eight minutes or twenty (or one minute, for that matter).
Good observations made about Punk not being the "best in the world" like he seems to believe. He's always been smoke and mirrors. He made his rep doing Japanese moves and spots most people in the United States weren't doing or hadn't seen yet, but he's mostly attitude and image. He's made a point of saying he's "best in the world" so many times that people bought in. It's very much like Bret saying "best there is, best there was, best there ever will be" over and over (and over) until it stuck as fact. (don't turn this into a Bret vs. Punk comparison. There isn't one. Bret was closer to what he said he was than Punk seems to be to me)
Like with everyone else, WWE will move on with or without him. He'd be a big boost to ROH if he went and did a farewell mini-tour, and I'm sure at least a good portion of his 2 MILLION twitter followers and his millions of other WWE fans would check it out. But with him gone his WWE fans will get over it and put their support behind someone else eventually. Until there's a mass exodus of frustrated talent the machine moves on.

I actually think losing a step due to age is what really made Punk better. He had to slow it down and take some of the flashier moves out. It made him work in a more logical fashion.

"working so low on the Mania card" YOU'RE IN A FUCKING FEATURED MATCH WITH TRIPLE H. Yeah again...He would be working a low end Mania card. Honestly, I think Punk is burned out primarily from what I have read. He is done with wrestling for now. So let him be and let him rest. He has earned it.

I was just thinking, maybe it's that HHH thinks it's honor enough to fight him, while Punk wants to actually be in the main event..HHH seems arrogant enough to say/think that whatever match he's in is REALLY the main event.

Amen wildfire. HHH needs to stop being delusional. He is not that great of a wrestler, he is where he is due to strategically placing himself in the right place at the right time. Bottomline. He is no Steve Austin or The Rock. He is the ManLove-ah! Because he made sure he was in their shadow just enough to catch a bit of their spotlight.

Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer reports:
"-- For those who think it might be a work, I was told by someone who works with WWE in a merchandising capacity (outside the company, third-party) that they have been told that anything involving CM Punk should be changed to Randy Orton from this point forward."
I'm sure 3rd party partners will be far less than thrilled to make that switch.

Wouldn't buying Randy Orton merch to sell by flushing your money down the toilet?

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com made a big announcement on this weekend's Wrestling Observer Radio. According to "one of the biggest names in the business", CM Punk is expected to return to the WWE this Monday night on Raw, which broadcasts live from his hometown of Chicago, IL.
All kinds of stories have been thrown around in the past few weeks, ranging from the entire Punk situation being a work, to him being gone from the company for good. Quite recently WWE pulled CM Punk from a Wizard World event, replacing him with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton, leading many to believe that the two had parted ways. However, with Batista's recent heel turn, the main event of WrestleMania XXX makes very little sense. The belief now is that either Daniel Bryan will be moved into the title picture, and Punk will go ahead with the planned match against Triple H, or Punk will be placed in the title match himself.
