You're the only person I've ever seen call the 1993 Rumble bad.

I thought the actual Rumble was meh but Hart/Ramon and Bossman/Bigelow were fantastic matches. They did kind of kill the crowd with Luger's debut followed by the Mania IX announcement.

I didn't get to the Hart-Ramon match (I fell asleep around then). I didn't find Bossman/Bigelow particularly good, though the best of a weak set of matches to that point.

Taking a break from WCCW to watch some 1993 WWF... I just watched a commerical for WM IX where Vince called Las Vegas 'The new Mecca of Family Entertainment'. Hilarious. Also, Repo Man was awesome...we need more of that in modern wrestling

WWF RAW from '93 is a lot more fun for me to watch than its 2014 counterpart. Being an hour show, it's also far easier to sit through. Two hours was enough, three is ridiculous and leads to a lot of filler. WWE needs good enhancement type guys on their shows again. They were able to make the mid-card guys seem like stars with TV wins back then, but now everyone but the top three or four guys are seen as essentially even and interchangeable because they're beating each other every week on TV. I'd like to see Barry Horowitz and Brooklyn Brawler type guys make a return to the show to firmly establish an undercard, midcard, and main event distinction.
Wildfire, Barry Darsow apparently does not agree about Repo Man. I've heard that he resented being made to take that gig after being so high up the card as Smash and hates even talking about that character.

I suppose I can see that, as Repo Man was definitely a lower mid card guy.. but he was a FUN lower Mid-card guy.. that's a niche that is sorely lacking in wrestling today.
I think 2 hours is the happy medium. 1 hour is a little tight (you end up not seeing some guys for weeks at a time) but the 3 hours is totally overkill... really, it's what 6 hours a week (Main Event/Superstars, Smackdown and Raw), plus PPVs every month? That's a big time committment, more than most 'real' sports even.

It's 7 hours if you don't count NXT.

I made it through the Bartlett episodes. Thank God.
The Hulk Hogan stuff was really bad. I don't know what the hell they were doing. I also don't think he makes a single Raw appearance while holding the belt.

Yeah, I was wondering about that too... it's interesting, since now they make it a big deal if a key guy isn't on the show.
I guess back then the show sold itself, whereas now they need the star power.

Has Billy Gunn ever had a gimmick that wasn't gay?
I'm like 6 episodes post-Mania and Hogan has yet to appear in even a pre-taped segment.

The Duggan/Michaels matches were surprisingly good. It's weird seeing Duggan still getting pushed despite his run being almost over.

Does anyone know who the fat card girl is? They all make a point of interacting with her. Episode 17 is crazy with the Kid beating Razor and Jeannette winning the IC belt.

It's probably Harvey Whippleman's girlfriend.

8 episodes post-Mania and Hogan finally appears in a pre-taped segment. Also a really good Perfect/Doink match to qualify for King of the Ring.
