In honor of it being October, I've decided to rewatch every Halloween Havoc ever... I'll be posting my running commentary in this thread. I rolled a die to determine which one to watch first... And I got 1995. I immediately regret this decision.

Good lord, WCW had some cheesy video package to open these things. First match is going to be Johnny B. Badd vs. DDP for the TV Title...

WCW freaking loved to pull doubles out of wood work for WCW. We all remember the Sting hoax... Some remember the Sting hoax redux in 2000... 95 opens with. Fake Johnny B. Badd spot. Wow.... I forgot how stunning Kimberly was back then.

I totally forgot the requesting Kimberly rate his moves phase of DDP's gimmick's evolution.

And Badd wins the TV title after Page's thug Max Muscle clotheslines Page by mistake. Solid opener. Crowd was quiet for most of it, but popped for Badd's big spots. I remember liking Badd back in 95, and thinking he should leave WCW for WWF... Man, that didn't turn out well.

Say what you want about Tony Schivone... He managed to say "battle of the sumo monster truck" with a straight face repeatedly.

I saw a shoot interview where Kevin Sullivan said the dungeon of doom and all it's silliness was an attempt to make Hogan comfortable in his new enviroment.

It's Savage/Zodiac. The best part of this is the drunk fan run in.

Hennan described Savage as coming off the top turnbuckle "like a gazelle".... Clearly, The Brain did not watch a lot of nature documentaries.

Why does the WWE network block out the phone number on WCW hotline shills by Mean Gene, but not, say, beep out when he says the number?

good luck with it......95 WCW is really hard to watch. Some of the in ring stuff is good, but the stories and gimmicks... sumo monster trucks.

Road Warrior Hawk vs Kurosawa (sp?) is up next.... If I never saw a Road Warrior Hawk solo match, I'd be okay with that.

Hawk Move count: punch, shoulder block, neck breaker, chop, stomp, forearm, gut wrench suplex, clothesline.
Kurosawa wins with an assisted pin following a fireman's carry slam, had his feet on the ropes and Col Parker holding said feet.
