Could they do AJ Styles vs. ADR at this event? Or will that get into some weird New Japan/CMLL vs. AAA thing?

They could do it but, as you noted, it could turn into a real big mess politically.

Updated the post with the matches discussed in the Observer. Nothing's announced yet.

Wow, way to pick the one guy I have no interest in ADR wrestling.

So they're pretty much headed towards ADR/Lethal and that world title four way for the show. Probably going to finalize those matches at the ECW Arena show on 1/24. That's uh...not the best double main event they could do but there's a number of reasons why we aren't able to get ADR/AJ and that kind of sucks.

They should have gone with ADR/Sydal. Lethal isn't going to get anyone excited about ADR. That main even does little for me. I hate triple threats and four ways for World Titles. Hanson is just random in that match.
I also don't know why they're wasting Sydal in a tag team with ACH. If I had signed Sydal I would be pushing the guy harder than that.

I figured Sydal would be closer to the World title honestly. I don't mind him teaming with ACH and I think the match with reDRagon has potential but I'm really not in love with their booking over the last few months. It seems like Elgin being a moron really screwed things up long term and they're still (four months later) scrambling to get their shit together.
Hanson makes sense, I guess, because he won his match at Final Battle (as did Elgin) and they had a three way match with those two and Ciampa to determine the #1 contender and then it went to a no contest.
I will say this: ROH's first two live PPVs have not exactly set the world on fire. Final Battle was an okay show, not the statement show you'd want from their biggest show of the year and Best in the World, once the new car smell wore off, really didn't leave me with any lasting memories except how shitty the main event and the tag title match were laid out. This PPV could prove to be worth the $34.95 but to this point, there's been a stunning lack of value on these ROH shows. The New Japan PPV was $10 more and better than both of their previous attempts.

I feel like if I had the book I would be emphasizing certain talent more. It feels like they get guys with some name value and then put them in this weird upper mid-card holding pattern. I feel like all of my AJ Styles 2014 memories are New Japan related and he's been a little forgettable in RoH.

AJ and the Bucks are going to be representing Bullet Club in ROH and it seems like they might have a match teaming together on this show.

They need to get a new booker IMO. I think they need someone with a little more vision and ability to think more out of the box than Delirious does. He's not bad by any means but it feels like everything just stays in a holding pattern with him.

He's fine as is. He gets what the hardcore fans expect and tries to give that and works in what casual fans would expect from the product. The stuff he books only really gets fucked up when dudes like Elgin do stupid shit.

I got the 2014 RoH TV season on DVD. I'm going to sit down and watch every episode instead of my usual scattershot viewing.

Try not to harm yourself watching Elgin's televised title defenses.
