I purchased this at Wal-Mart a couple weeks ago for 20 bucks. I thought the documentary was a little lackluster. It concentrated on how Starcade began and how the idea of a huge supercard (Wrestlemania) was based on the basis of Starcade. It came off like the WWE was saying that Starcade was good but WWE and Wrestlemania was/is great. On the other hand, the collection of top 25 Essencial Starcade matches is outstanding.
I'm curious if anyone else has watched this DVD and what your thoughts are.

I really want to get that DVD.........in the top 2 of my list. First things I will buy when I get my tax return, or become gainfully employed. The WWE has a "Best of Saturday Nights Main Event" coming out in mid-Feb.....3 discs looks outstanding. I was at 1-2 of those, and watched them religiously back in the 80s. Not surprising that the E would spin Starcade into looking like a "poor man's Wrestlemania". Like Marc said, want to get it for the matches......

I have every StarrCade so I didn't bother to pick this one up. Given the one-sided and horribly biased look that WWE has always given JCP/WCW, I didn't figure the documentary would be much count. WrestleMania may have been superior in terms of spectacle, hype, and star power... but in terms of actual wrestling StarrCade was at least on par.
