Rob, things are looking real good so far. On the last tag match, did you use David and Kerry Von Erich? You wrote Kevin so I wanted to make sure you played the right combination. If it was a typo no problem. If you used Kevin then I'll need that match played again.

JERRY LAWLER: You know, Terry Funk, I noticed you got a tendency to speak real big when there's an ocean between us. But it looks like you got a lot more problems on your hands than having me whoop your a**. I mean, c'mon, that pip-squeak Jericho almost took out your big brother? My advice to you, Terry Funk, is to lay off the saki and focus on your conditioning. Because you're going to need everything you got and a whole lot more once you get state-side again. Maybe if you can stop hiding behind your big brother, Dory, and that junior league slob, Terry Gordy, you might be able to pick up a move or two out in the Orient.

JPW Feb. 7, 2008 Sumo Hall Akira Maeda/Osamu Kido def. Kintaro Oki/Kim DukThis was a solid opening tag team match. It went back and forth until Kido caught Duk with a swinging neckbreaker for the pin. Tiger Mask def. Akira NogamiNogami gave Tiger Mask a competitive match. The Tiger Suplex finished off Nogami. Super Strong Machine def. Terry GordyThese two heavyweights really went at it, standing toe to toe. The fight went back and forth. SSM suvived the Oriental Spike. The end came after SSM used the Chickenwing Suplex to get the win. Barry Windham def. Masked SuperstarThis event pitted TRADITION against PNW. These two were very evenly matches. Masked Superstar continually fought back after taking several big suplexes from Windham. The figure four by BW is what finally put away the Masked Superstar. Yoshiaki Yatsu/Animal Hamaguchi/Rusher Kimura def. Strong Kobayashi/Seiji Sakaguchi/Yoshiaki FujiwaraA fast-paced sixman tag. Yatsu beat Kobayashi with the Jailhouse Lock. Hiroshi Hase def. MisticoHase took control of the match and didn't let Mistico get on a big roll with his high-flying offense. Mistico survived the Golden Arm Hammer for several minutes. Hase crushed Mistico on the floor with a top rope plancha, then applied his submission finisher again to finally get the win. CHAMPIONS CARNIVAL TOURNAMENT
Block AJumbo Tsuruta def. Shinya HashimotoA very tough, evenly fought match between two competitors looking for their first win in the tournament. The two matched power for power, but Tsuruta slowly started landing more of his offense. Hashimoto wouldn't go down though until hit with the Jumbo Backdrop. Dory Funk Jr. def. RikidozanDory Funk tried to overwhelm Rikidozan with offense right from the start and it worked. Dory quickly had his man down for the spinning toe hold. He tren repeatedly hit Rikidozan with the butterfly suplex before going back to the spinning toe hold. That gave the TRADITION champion his first win. Giant Baba def. Bret HartBaba was methodical in his attack on the Hit Man. Hart never got into any offensive rhythm as Baba controlled the pace. After some big chops and a back suplex, Baba nailed the neckbreaker drop for the three count to notch his first tournament win. Great Muta def. Lou TheszThe Great Muta came away with in some ways an upset. Thest immeditately took charge of the match until Muta bought some time on the outside. Things went back and forth then before Muta got in a few moves in a row and caught a quick fall with the handspring elbow. Thesz was visibly discusted with himself over the loss as he stared at Muta. Block BBilly Graham def. Kensuki SasakiThe Superstar showed a slight power advantage and he made use of it. Graham was able to stop Sasaki before he got on an offensive roll. Graham locked in the bear hug and after a few moments of squeezing got the win. Ed Lewis def. Antonio InokiThis was turned in a great back and forth match. Inoki maintained the advantage most of the time. Twice Lewis blocked Inoki's attempted move off the top rope. Inoki survived an extended stay in the side headlock. Later Lewis got his signature hold applied again and this time got the win. Mitsuharu Misawa def. Gene KiniskiThe Japanese fans were really into this one as Kiniski showed just how much of a tough guy he is. Misawa came out fast with high-impact offense that had Kiniski down and almost beat early. Kiniski took a hike to the floor. Misawa then took the tough shots and the Canadian Backbreaker. Kiniski kept coming back despite all the punishment he was taking. Misawa was relentless though and eventually got the win with the stepover facelock. Kenta Kobashi def. Genichiro TenryuKobashi pulled off a big win over the veteran Tenryu. It was Tenryu laying into Kobashi at the start. Kobashi came back with a double arm ddt, half-nelson suplex and then got the pin with the Orange Crush.

JPW TV Feb. 8, 2008 Chiba Port Arena Chiba, Japan Yoshiaki Fujiwara def. Al SnowSnow took some punishment early on, but came back and hit the Snow Plow twice. Fujiwara kicked out, then German suplexed Snow for the three count. Hiro Saito/Toru Tanaka def. The Mountie/Dick "Bulldog" BrowerThe Mountie and Brower put a hurting on Hiro Saito to start the match. Toru Tanaka took the Mountie and the fight to the floor. Mountie and the Bulldog worked over Saito again, but he made another tag. Tanaka again made the mistake of trying to go at the Bulldog on the outside. Tanaka stayed in the match and came back with the Shininomaki on the Mountie. He then hit a splash off the top rope. Saito hit the German suplex and a spike piledriver. Brower made the save and the Mountie got the advantage when Tanaka came back in the ring after going after the Bulldog. This match came to an end after Brower saved the Mountie, but Saito German suplexed the Mountie again to score the pin. Cactus Jack def. Rusher KimuraAfter a very long tag team match, this one ended quickly. Cactus used a piledriver and then the double arm DDT to put away Kimura. Hiroshi Hase/Akira Nogami def. Super Strong Machine/Masked SuperstarMasked Superstar and SSM seriously but a beating on Hase. Then they beat on Nogami, but he came back to nearly pin M.S. Hase and Nogami continued to stay alive and Hase forced a submission out of SSM. The Funks def. The MoondogsThe Moondogs jumped Terry Funk before the match and double teamed him in the corner. Spot then smashed him with the bone but didn't get the pin. He was able to tag in Dory, but the Moondogs assaulted him as well. A backbreaker and elbow smash almost put away Terry, as the Funks couldn't get any offense going against the ferociousness of the Moondogs. Terry got a breather when he avoided a spear from Rex. The Funks did some double teaming of their own, but Rex took over on the outside once more. Dory turned things around and Spot gave up to the spinning toe hold. Chris Jericho/Lance Storm/Jim Neidhart def. Dick Slater/Buzz Sawyer/Stan StasiakThis six-man battle went all around the arena. Neidhart made it through the match despite not being at 100 percent due to the beating he received from the Funks and Terry Gordy earlier this week. This one could have gone either way but it was the Deep Impact by Storm that got the pin on Stasiak. Great Muta def. MisticoMuta controlled the matchup as Mistico never got things in gear. Muta landed a top rope plancha to the floor and then got the pin with the Moonsault. Mitsuharu Misawa def. Tiger MaskAn interesting contrast of styles saw a nicely contested event. Misawa got the win after the Emerald Fusion. SUPER GRADE TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT
Block AHeadhunters def. Billy Jack Haynes/Jun AkiyamaThe Headhunters immediately put Billy Jack down on the mat and Headhunter A lands an awesome moonsault. Akiyama jumps in and turns the match around in their favor. Akiyama keeps up the offense but only briefly. The Headhunters brutalize Akiyama, but he stun guns Headhunter A over the top rope. Billy Jack puts the Full Nelson on Headhunter A. Billy Jack battled both opponents and got Headhunter B in the Full Nelson. Headhunter B goes for a dive through the ropes, but Akiyama moves and he goes headfirst into the guardrail. Headhunter B kicked out of the Exploder suplex. The teams continued to go back and forth. A superplex/top rope elbow smash combination finished off Billy Jack. Seiji Sakaguchi/Strong Kobayashi def. Masa Saito/Yoshiaki YatsuA pair of veteran tag teams went back and forth at the start. Kobayashi held Saito in the backbreaker then an Atomic Drop by Sakaguchi got the pin. Bruiser Brody/Stan Hansen def. Toshiaki Kawada/Akira TaueHansen blasted Kawada with a lariat early in the match. Brody came in and continued the punishment. Taue came and took over briefly against Hansen. Taue and Kawada were able to come back in short burst, but Brody and Hansen were on top of their game. Hansen ended the match with a lariat on Kawada. Blackjacks def. Kintaro Oki/Kim DukThe Blackjacks ran roughshod over the next team in their path. They overpowered the Japanese opponents and Mulligan got the pin on Duk. Block BRoad Warriors def. Tatsumi Fujinami/Riki ChoshuThe Road Warriors go to work right away and put Choshu in the Doomsday Device. Fujinmai enters and attacks both tag team champions. Fujinami and the Road Warriors go toe to toe on the floor, but the LOD hit their finisher on him as well. Choshu keeps the match going. The Animal power slams Fujinami for the pin. Ultimo Guerrero/Atlantis def. Dan Kroffat/Doug FurnasThe Mexican combination come out on fire against Kroffat and come very close to winning the match. Kroffat and Furnas didn't look near as good as earlier in the week against Mil Mascaras and Dos Caras. Ultimo Guerrero got the win with the Gory Guerrero Submission Special. Wild Samoans def. Masahiro Chono/Hiroyoshi TenzanThe Samoans were just too much this time out for Chono and Tenzan. Afa and Sika repeatedly double teamed their opponents and looked unstoppable. Afa's falling headbutt finished off Tenzan. Mil Mascaras/Dos Caras def. David/Kerry Von ErichThe Von Erichs never got on the same page in this one. Mascaras came off the ropes with a high-cross body to pin Kerry and give the TRADITION tag team champions the win. The Von Erichs stood in the ring 'talking' to each other after the match.
