JPW Feb. 21, 2008 Nakajima Sports Center Nakajima, Japan Hiroshi Hase/Akira Nogami and Akira Maeda/Osamu Kido fought to a double DQThis was an excellent opening tag team contest. The match could have gone either way. Hase came in to break up the sleeper on Nogami. All four started fighting and went to the floor where the bell rang. Jun Akiyama def. Rusher KimuraAkiyama took the fight right to the veteran Kimura. Rusher wouldn't go down until a pair of Exploder suplexes finally finished him off. Hiro Saito/Toru Tanaka def. Lance Storm/Jim NeidhartThe Japanese duo maintained firm control of the match. Neither Storm or Neidhart could get anything going their way. Tanaka put Neidhart down for the three count after a big clothesline. Billy Jack Haynes def. Super Strong MachineA real nice power matchup. Haynes took over and kept the full nelson applied long enough for the win. Headhunters def. Al Snow/Cactus JackThe Headhunters landed their big-time moves on Cactus. The top rope splash by Headhunter B ended the match. David Von Erich def. Masa SaitoThe match was fast paced and back and forth. Saito survived the claw and fought back on the floor. Von Erich got the Iron Claw on again to pick up the win. Yoshiaki Yatsu def. Tatsumi FujinamiYatsu was all over Fujinami and never gave him a chance to breath. Fujinami was crushed by power slam after power slam. Over and over again until the three count followed. PNW Tag Team Championship Wild Samoans (ch) def. Bruiser Brody/Stan HansenThe Samoans start off all over Brody and put a serious beating on him. Hansen doesn't fare any better but a big boot gets him the advantage. Hansen works over Sika but he gets the tag to Afa. Hansen hits the Lariat on Afa. The teams fight back and forth until Afa drops a headbutt on Brody to get the pin and retain the tag team titles. CHAMPIONS CARNIVAL TOURNAMENT
Block AShinya Hashimoto def. Dory Funk Jr.This one went back and forth shortly before Hashimoto strung a series of high-impact moves together. Hashimoto planted Funk with the brainbuster for the win. Lou Thesz def. Bret HartAs expected, a tremendous mat wrestling contest. The Hitman maintained more control but both showed great defensive skills and nobody had the upperhand for long. Thesz came out the winner with the greco roman backdrop. Giant Baba def. RikidozanBaba starts off fast with several big moves and a two-count after his finisher. Rikidozan avoids being counted out after he misses and spills to the floor. Rikidozan made a furious comeback and nearly put Baba down for the three. Baba piledrove Rikidozan twice before coming off the ropes with the neckbreaker drop to win the match. Jumbo Tsuruta def. Great Muta by C.O.The two leaders of Block A battled toe to toe in an epic encounter. The match continually went back and forth with nearfalls on both sides. The fight went to the floor, Muta spewed his green mist, but they kept on going. Muta crashed to the floor following a huge lariat and was counted out of the ring. Block BGene Kiniski def. Billy GrahamThese two powerhouses spent most of the match brawling on the floor. Graham hammered Kiniski but neither could get a near fall. Kiniski survived Graham's bearhug, and then held the Superstar in the Canadian backbreaker long enough to get the win. Genichiro Tenryu def. Kensuki SasakiTenryu blasted Sasaki with three straight running lariats and then a short powerbomb for a two-count. After a trip to the floor Tenryu powerbombed Sasaki again for the three-count. Ed Lewis def. Kenta KobashiA very hard-hitting match that Kobashi dominated in the early going. Lewis got things turned around and Kobashi battled and fought not to give in to the side headlock. It took a long time but Lewis finally ended the match. Mitsuharu Misawa def. Antonio InokiThis one put the two men tied for first in Block B in the ring. It was an incredible match with both men hitting their best moves for nearfalls. Misawa caught Inoki with a Tiger Suplex '85 to score the three count.

CHAMPIONS CARNIVAL TOURNAMENT
Block A is down to three wrestlers fighting for the top two spots so they can advance to the semifinals of the International heavyweight championship tournament. If Jumbo loses to Bret Hart, and both Muta and Thesz defeat Rikidozan and Shinya Hashimoto respectively, then Tsuruta would not advance. In that case Muta wins the tiebreaker over Thesz and would be the Block A winner. A win of any kind by Jumbo gives him first place. The worst-case scenario in terms of scoring would be if Muta and Thesz both lose and Baba defeated Dory Funk Jr., then there would be a three-way tie for second place.
Block A 1. Jumbo Tsuruta 9 pts. 2. Great Muta 8 pts. 3. Lou Thesz 8 pts. 4. Giant Baba 6 pts. 5. Bret Hart 5 pts. 6. Rikidozan 4 pts. 7. Shinya Hashimoto 4 pts. 8. Dory Funk Jr. 3 pts.
Block B leader Mitsuharu Misawa faces winless Kensuki Sasaki on the final day of the round robin portion. Ed Lewis, Antonio Inoki and Kenta Kobashi all follow him with 8 pts. Ed Lewis controls his own destiny having beaten both Inoki and Kobashi, so if he defeats Genichiro Tenryu then second place is his. Inoki takes on Billy Graham and Kobashi faces Gene Kiniski.
Block B 1. Mitsuharu Misawa 10 pts. 2. Ed Lewis 8 pts. 3. Antonio Inoki 8 pts. 4. Kenta Kobashi 8 pts. 5. Genichiro Tenryu 6 pts. 6. Gene Kiniski 4 pts. 7. Billy Graham 4 pts. 8. Kensuki Sasaki 0 pts.

JPW TV Feb. 22, 2008 Osaka Castle Hall Osaka, Japan The Mountie def. Animal HamaguchiA nice back and forth contest to open the show. The Mountie struggled to put Hamaguchi away. It took repeated use of the shock stick to finish off Hamaguchi. Dick "Bulldog" Brower def. Yoshiaki FujiwaraFujiwara tore into the bulldog and applied various submission holds right at the start. Brower survived and the two battled toe to toe before Brower put Fujiwara down with a clothesline. Kensuki Sasaki/Shinya Hashimoto def. Al Snow/Cactus JackThe action really picked up with this one as the fight went all over the arena. Hashimoto took major punishment in the early going but stayed alive. Sasaki carried the team for a long time. The end could have come at any time. Cactus came in after Hashimoto DDTed Snow. Sasaki cut him off and sent him to the outside. They got a double team in on Snow and Hashimoto got the three count. Dick Slater/Buzz Sawyer def. The Funks by DQIt was the Funks who lost control in this one before the wild duo of Slater and Sawyer. The match stayed pretty even until Terry decided to go the floor and was disqualified. Stan Stasiak def. Barry WindhamStasiak gained the upperhand thanks to a steel chair. It took two Heart Punches for Stasiak to get the pin. Masked Superstar def. Terry GordyMasked Superstar took the fight right at Gordy and never let up. He locked in the Cobra Hold and put Gordy out. Giant Baba def. Genichiro TenryuThe crowd was really into this one pitting two men that are in the Champions Carnival Tournament against each other. Tenryu dominated the match and had Baba in major trouble but couldn't put him away. Baba rallied and used a piledriver then the neckbreaker drop to win the match. SUPER GRADE TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT
Block ABilly Jack Haynes/Jun Akiyama def. The BlackjacksThese teams turned in an unbelievable tag team encounter. At first the Blackjacks put a hurting on Billy Jack. Akiyama had to carry the match for awhile. Both teams made every tag they had to and broke up pinning attempts. With all four fighting in and out of the ring, Akiyama pinned Mulligan with the Northern Lights Suplex. Kintaro Oki/Kim Duk def. Toshiaki Kawada/Akira TaueThis was another superb tag team match. Oki and Duk looked the best they have all tournament. Kawada narrowly kept from losing the match in the early going. The match went back and forth but Oki and Duk continually turned thing back in their favor. The double brainbuster on Taue ended the match. Masa Saito/Yoshiaki Yatsu def. HeadhuntersThe Headhunters controlled most of the match. Yatsu got things going his way and Saito's Jailhouse Lock put away Headhunter A. Bruiser Brody/Stan Hansen def. Seiji Sakaguchi/Strong KobayashiBrody and Hansen were really on top of their game in this one. They tagged in and out and worked over both opponents. Brody put a series of moves together and pinned Sakaguchi after a running leg drop. Block BTatsumi Fujinami/Riki Choshu def. Mil Mascaras/Dos CarasThese teams threw caution to the wind and did everything possible to pull out a win, in and out of the ring. The Luchadors were flying all over the place. Choshu got Mascaras down on the mat and won with the scorpion deathlock. David/Kerry Von Erich def. Wild SamoansThis match ended quickly. Afa hit the corner ringpost and Kerry rolled him up with a handful of tights for the pin. Masahiro Chono/Hiroyoshi Tenzan def. Ultimo Guerrero/AtlantisChono and Tenzan looked really good in this one. Atlantis took the majority of the punishment. Chono set Guerrero up and the boston crab by Tenzan got the submission. Road Warriors def. Dan Kroffat/Doug FurnasThe LOD stormed their way through Kroffat and Furnas to possibly secure the top spot in Block B. Hawk and Animal were just too strong this time around. Kroffat took his share of the beating but it was Furnas being pinned after a flying shoulder block by Animal.

SUPER GRADE TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT
A whole lot can happen on the final day of pool play to decide who advances to final four. Brody and Hansen are assured at least another playin match if there are any ties.
