PRESS CONFERENCE CPB was at the podium with a very serious look on his face. Apparently, something major was about to go down. CPB spoke to the press core that eagerly awaited his next words. “As of tomorrow, the Pacific Northwest Wrestling Seattle federation will be known as ‘Darkside Extreme Wrestling’. It will be based out of San Jose, California. As a representative of Pacific Northwest Seattle, I was asked to make this announcement. I would also like to announce that I will not be a part of the D.E.W. as of tomorrow, as I have had my contract bought out by the new owners. I wish to extend my best wishes to this new federation, for I am sure it will flourish under the LWA banner for many months to come. “Onto other business: The D.E.W. will hold a Royal Rumble-style match to crown its first Heavyweight and Television Champions very soon. There will be a new format also: The federation will have its wrestlers being chosen to join the two groups formed by the two new champions soon after the new champions are crowned. Each champion will pick what wrestler they want to have in their group, with the Heavyweight Champion picking first. Both groups will fight for the right to choose who they want first from the upcoming drafts at the end of each month. Each match during the month will receive points for their group based on winning and successful title defenses. Whichever group has the most points at the end of the month chooses from the draft picks that D.E.W. acquires via draft. I think that pretty much covers everything and says it all.” The press was buzzing with many questions, but CPB simply stated, “I will not be taking questions at this time. Thank you for your attention.” With that, CPB left and that was the end of the press conference.

Card 2: D.E.W. TV Taping on Sunday, April 5, 2009 @ the Sacramento Convention Center in Sacramento CA This fight card featured the beginning of both the Hardcore Tournament to crown the first-ever D.E.W. Hardcore Champion, and the Two Man Tag Tournament to crown the first-ever D.E.W. Tag Team Champions. Also on the fight card was a Chain Match, and a non-title defense by the D.E.W. Heavyweight Champion.
First though, the D.E.W. Television Champion, the Big Boss Man, went to the ring to start this televised edition of D.E.W. He introduced his group to the audience, and said his group would be known as "TEAM RIOT GEAR". The members of Riot Gear were: The Fabulous Kangaroos (Red Berry, Al Costello, and Roy Heffernan), Rip Oliver's Army (Bobby Duncum, The Grappler, Masked Assassin, and Rip Oliver), Chris Markoff & Alexis Smirnoff, Freddie Blassie, Killer Khan, Teijho Khan, Chris Jericho, and himself.
After Boss Man's group left the ring, D.E.W. Heavyweight Champion Jay Youngblood took to the ring. He said to the audience that his group would be called "GOLDEN STATE RENEGADES", and he revealed his group to the fans at ringside: The Heavenly Bodies (Al Greene & Don Greene), Renegade Nation (Wahoo McDaniel, Billy White Wolf, Mark Youngblood, and himself), the RPMs (Mike Davis & Tommy Lane), Leo Burke, Rufus R. Jones, Cowboy Frankie Lane, Spike Huber, Stanislaus Zybyszko, and Big Red.
Wrestlers that were not chosen to join the two groups, or refused to join the group that picked them were: Colonel of the Guard (Killer Kowalski, Karl & Kurt von Steiger, and Ed Wiskowski), Dutch Savage's Flying Dutchmen (Tim Brooks, Mike Graham, Dutch Savage, and Jimmy Snuka), Roddy Piper, the Destruction Crew (Wayne Bloom & Mike Enos), Badd Company (Paul Diamond & Pat Tanaka), and Al Perez.
MATCH 1: RUFUS R. JONES VS KILLER KHAN -- Round 1 Hardcore Tourney Killer Khan began with a pin attempt after a big Chop. Jones came back with his finisher, but could not put Khan away for the win. One mistake by Jones cost him the match later on. Killer Khan won when he reversed a Cross Body Block in a time of 7:13.
MATCH 2: KARL & KURT VON STEIGER VS CHRIS MARKOFF & ALEXIS SMIRNOFF -- Round 1 Tag Tourney A quick match as Chris Markoff wasted no time in ending this one. Chris Markoff & Alexis Smirnoff won when Markoff used his finisher-PILEDRIVER on Karl von Steiger in a time of just 0:23.
MATCH 3: LEO BURKE VS KILLER KOWALSKI -- Round 1 Hardcore Tourney Another quick match as Killer Kowalski proved to be too much for Burke. Killer Kowalski won with a Jumping Elbow Smash in a time of just 0:35.
MATCH 4: RPMS MIKE DAVIS & TOMMY LANE VS WAYNE BLOOM & MIKE ENOS -- Round 1 Tag Tourney Wayne Bloom started the match for his team against Mike Davis. Three quick finishers by Davis, and Bloom was in bad shape. Bloom finally managed to tag in Enos, and Enos devastated Tommy Lane with a big move. After both Enos and Lane tagged out, Bloom had recovered enough to get a pin attempt on Davis, but Davis rebounded and slapped another finisher on Bloom! Enos tried to make the save, but Davis and Lane quickly tossed him from the ring and hit Bloom with a double-team move that ended the match! Mike Davis & Tommy Lane won when Lane pinned Bloom following a Double Elbow Smash in a time of 14:02.
MATCH 5: BIG RED VS FREDDIE BLASSIE -- Round 1 Hardcore Tourney Freddie Blassie won with his finisher-SOUTHERN NECKBREAKER in a time of just 0:31.
MATCH 6: DUTCH SAVAGE & JIMMY SNUKA VS THE GRAPPLER & MASKED ASSASSIN -- Round 1 Tag Tourney Jimmy Snuka attacked The Grappler before the bell. Shortly after a near-fall on The Grappler, Snuka used his finisher, but did not get the win. After The Grappler tagged out, in came Dutch Savage, who came in like gangbusters and put away the Masked Assassin in high fashion. Dutch Savage & Jimmy Snuka won when Dutch Savage used his finisher-RUNNING PILEDRIVER on Masked Assassin in a time of 7:50.
MATCH 7: RODDY PIPER VS BOBBY DUNCUM -- Round 1 Hardcore Tourney Proving he was quite the ring veteran, Piper dismantled all of Duncum's offense and got the win. Roddy Piper won with his finisher-SLEEPER in a time of 7:06.
MATCH 8: AL GREENE & DON GREENE (Heavenly Bodies) VS AL COSTELLO & ROY HEFFERNAN (Fabulous Kangaroos) -- Round 1 Tag Tourney All that Al Greene needed for the win here was continuous Forearm Clubs on Al Costello, and it was a rather easy win for the Heavenly Bodies. Al Greene & Don Greene won when Al Greene pinned Al Costello with Huge Forearm Clubs in a time of 4:05.
MATCH 9: SPIKE HUBER VS TEIJHO KHAN -- Chain Match Teijho Khan won with a Headbutt to Lower Abdomen in a time of 1:16.
MATCH 10: PAUL DIAMOND (with Pat Tanaka) VS AL PEREZ A great wrestling exhibition happens very rarely, as both wrestlers showed off their mat skill and ring know-how. Each wrestler countered their foe's moves well, and this one went the distance. This match went to a 30-minute time limit, and the crowd gave the wrestlers a standing ovation!
MATCH 11: DEW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION JAY YOUNGBLOOD VS "WILD" RED BERRY -- Non-title Bout Starting off on a roll, Jay Youngblood was able to apply both of his finishers early on. Red Berry looked to be in deep trouble, and his team came to bail him out. Unfortunately for Berry, he was DQed following outside interference, which cost Berry the match. Jay Youngblood won when Red Berry was disqualified when Al Costello interfered in a time of 5:44.

Card 3: D.E.W. House Show on Tuesday April 7, 2009 @ the Maples Pavilion in Stanford CA This fight card featured the second rounds of both the Hardcore Tournament to crown the first-ever D.E.W. Hardcore Champion, and the Two Man Tag Tournament to crown the first-ever Tag Team Champions. Also on the fight card was an Indian Strap match, and a non-title defense by the DEW Television Champion.
MATCH 1: PAT TANAKA VS ED WISKOWSKI Tanaka gave Wiskowski a bit of trouble in the match, but Wiskowski went on to win this one. Ed Wiskowski won with a Noggin Knocker in a time of 14:04.
MATCH 2: BILLY WHITE WOLF VS BAD NEWS TIM BROOKS These two exchanged pin attempts after their finishers before Wolf was finally able to win. Billy White Wolf won with his finisher-INDIAN DEATHLOCK in a time of 10:22.
MATCH 3: KILLER KHAN VS RODDY PIPER -- Round Two Hardcore Tournament Piper attempted to put Khan away with his finisher a couple of times early in the match, but Khan was not sleepy. Khan battled back, but Piper kept whipping him with his belt! After awhile, Khan felt little effect from this and was able to secure a hard-fought win over the Rowdy One. Killer Khan won with an Asian Spike in a time of 18:30.
MATCH 4: AL GREENE & DON GREENE (Heavenly Bodies) VS CHRIS MARKOFF & ALEXIS SMIRNOFF -- Round Two Tag Tournament Wild brawling action in this one! Both teams were in the ring most of the time! Eventually, the referee disqualified the Bodies when Don Greene tried to break up a pin count. Alexis Smirnoff & Chris Markoff won when Don Greene was disqualified against Smirnoff in a time of 4:17.
MATCH 5: FREDDIE BLASSIE VS KILLER KOWALSKI -- Round Two Hardcore Tournament Kowalski had an off-night as Blassie had this match in hand from the opening bell. Freddie Blassie won after using his finisher-SOUTHERN NECKBREAKER two times in a row in a time of 3:54.
MATCH 6: MIKE DAVIS & TOMMY LANE (RPMs) VS DUTCH SAVAGE & JIMMY SNUKA -- Round Two Tag Tournament Dutch Savage went right after Tommy Lane to open this match. Two near-falls sent Lane reeling. Jimmy Snuka was tagged in and continued the assault, but this time on Lane's partner, Mike Davis. Three pin attempts on Davis from Snuka before Snuka tagged Dutch Savage back in. Working Davis over some more, Savage was able to apply his finisher for the win. Dutch Savage & Jimmy Snuka won when Dutch used his finisher-RUNNING PILEDRIVER on Mike Davis in a time of 9:36.
MATCH 7: STANISLAUS ZYBYSZKO VS RIP OLIVER Stanislaus Zybyszko was confident early on after a quick pin attempt. Oliver fought back and rattled off a couple of near-falls on Zybyszko. Then, Zybyszko took over, using his finisher a number of times before he was able to put away a very tough Rip Oliver. Stanislaus Zybyszko won with his finisher-STANDING HEEL HOOK in a time of 10:38.
MATCH 8: MARK YOUNGBLOOD VS MIKE GRAHAM -- Indian Strap match Not much of a match, really. Graham was able to finish off Youngblood fairly easily. Mike Graham won with his finisher-FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK in a time of 2:42.
MATCH 9: WAHOO McDANIEL VS CHRIS JERICHO McDaniel did not let up offensively, fearing that Y2J would make a comeback and defeat him. Luckily, McDaniel's offensive plan was flawless, hitting his finisher five times in this one. Wahoo McDaniel won by using his finisher-TOMAHAWK CHOP four times in a row in a time of 12:54.
MATCH 10: DEW TELEVISION CHAMPION BIG BOSS MAN VS COWBOY FRANKIE LANE -- Non-title Boss Man was on a mission! He was not about to lose his Belt this early on, so he easily dismantled any and all offense that Frankie Lane mustered, and soundly defeated him. Big Boss Man won with his finisher-BOSS MAN SLAM in a time of 2:47.

Card 4: D.E.W. House Show on Tuesday April 14, 2009 @ the Haas Pavilion in Berkeley CA
This fight card featured the debuts of both the Mighty Igor and Ilio Dipaolo! There was also a Ladder match, and a non-title bout with the D.E.W. Heavyweight Champion. As the night began, Jay Youngblood addressed the crowd:
"As your D.E.W. Heavyweight Champion, I feel it is only fair to fight the only wrestler in this federation that did not appear at the Battle Royal when I won this Belt. I send a challenge out to RPM Tommy Lane: I give you a non-title match tonight, my friend. Please accept this challenge and bring your A-game!"
MATCH 1: RUFUS R. JONES VS BOBBY DUNCUM In a match where Bobby Duncum generated very little offense, Rufus R. Jones looked to be in complete control of this match. With two near-falls, and the use of his finisher three times during the match, Jones went on to an easy victory over Duncum. Rufus R. Jones won with his finisher-HEADBUTT in a time of 18:17.
MATCH 2: WAYNE BLOOM & MIKE ENOS (Destruction Crew) VS KILLER KOWALSKI & ED WISKOWSKI Wayne "The Train" Bloom did not fare too well against Killer Kowalski in the first few minutes of the match. Luckily for Bloom, his partner did a little better than he did against Kowalski. Enos was able to get two pin attempts on Killer, but then Kowalski took the wind out of Enos' sails with a big move. Enos needed to tag out, and did so. In came Wiskowski also, and the two clashed in the ring. After a brief brawl, Wiskowski managed to take home a win for his team. Ed Wiskowski and Killer Kowalski won when Wiskowski pinned Wayne Bloom after tying him up in the ropes and pummeling him in a time of 11:26.
MATCH 3: COWBOY FRANKIE LANE VS ILIO DIPAOLO Dipaolo's debut in D.E.W. was not a good one for him, as Lane tricked him into getting DQed. Cowboy Frankie Lane won when Ilio was disqualified in a time of 7:47.
MATCH 4: MIKE GRAHAM & BAD NEWS TIM BROOKS (with Dutch Savage) VS AL COSTELLO & ROY HEFFERNAN (Fabulous Kangaroos) The Roos, still stinging from losing in the tag tournament, went on to win this match. Al Costello & Roy Heffernan won when Tim Brooks was disqualified against Al Costello for using the chain in a time of 3:38.
"Rowdy" Roddy Piper brought "Piper's Pit" to D.E.W.! His first guest was the Mighty Igor, but Igor was absent from the set as the Pit started. Piper went on to make a lot of jokes about "dumb people", in reference to Igor. Finally, Igor came out and challenged Piper to a match, which Piper accepted. As Piper was going to attack Igor on-set, Jimmy Snuka appeared and had Igor's back! Piper backed down and would have to wait for his match against Igor to inflict whatever damage he could.
MATCH 5: LEO BURKE VS PAUL DIAMOND In a fairly quick match, Paul Diamond got the pin with a Running Spear in a time of 2:02.
MATCH 6: BILLY WHITE WOLF VS RIP OLIVER -- Ladder Match An even match for both players, as these two battled in this match-up. Each time one of them seemed to have an advantage, his opponent took it away from him. Oliver finally did manage to use his finisher, and that was all he needed to get the win. Rip Oliver won with his finisher-SHOULDER BREAKER in a time of 9:43.
MATCH 7: MIGHTY IGOR (with Jimmy Snuka) VS "ROWDY" RODDY PIPER In this one, Piper kept beating on his opponent, but Igor would not stay down! No matter what Piper tried, Igor would not give up. (Note: Igor's PIN rating was 11, but he rolled a 12, and kicked out of everything before that!) Jimmy Snuka, who was at ringside, kept an eye on Piper to make sure Piper did not cheat. Finally, Piper slapped on his finisher and it was over for Igor. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper won with his finisher-SLEEPER in a time of 18:00. Jimmy Snuka made sure that Piper did not go anywhere before Igor was woken up. Snuka's eyes glared with intensity as Piper left the ring.
MATCH 8: D.E.W. HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION JAY YOUNGBLOOD VS RPM TOMMY LANE -- Non-title bout An early pin attempt by Lane made him more confident of a win over Youngblood, but Jay fought back as a champion should. Stringing together his finishers, and a number of near-falls, it was not long before the young Champion secured a notch in the win column. Jay Youngblood won with a Cross Body Block in a time of 16:35. After the match, both men shook hands in the center of the ring, posed for the crowd, and enjoyed the crowd's cheers for several minutes!
MATCH 9: DUTCH SAVAGE & JIMMY SNUKA VS CHRIS MARKOFF & ALEXIS SMIRNOFF -- Tag Tournament Finals Wanting to win badly, Jimmy Snuka took his game to the next level! Alexis Smirnoff took a good beating from both Snuka and Dutch Savage, and the ending was inevitable. Dutch Savage & Jimmy Snuka won when Dutch Savage pinned Alexis Smirnoff with a Flying Clothesline in a time of 5:56, thus Dutch Savage & Jimmy Snuka are the NEW D.E.W. Tag Team Champions!! After the match, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper was at the entrance to the locker rooms and verbally assaulted Snuka, insulting his intelligence, appearance, and anything else he could think of! Snuka absorbed as much as he could, then bolted in Piper's direction! Piper wisely retreated to the safety of the locker rooms! It seems like this feud has re-ignited right here in D.E.W.!

Big Boss Man was in the ring as the night’s card got underway. This is what he said into the mic he was holding: “Jay Youngblood. Your team may hold the upper hand right now in the point tallies, but Team Riot Gear has just begun! Tonight, I will destroy Al Greene in our non-title bout, and the rest of Team Riot Gear will rack up point after point! You should just give up now, son. Save us all a lot of time and energy, you know?”
Jay Youngblood appeared on the giant videoscreen at the backstage entrance and had this to say: “Boss Man, I am a proud Champion here in D.E.W., and you know I have earned this Belt that I carry. None of us in the Golden State Renegades are about to lie down and roll over for you, or anyone in your group! If you want points, this Belt... or anything else from us, you will have to defeat us in the ring! None of us will back down from you, or anyone!”
Boss Man smiled an evil smile. “Fine, son. Then, all of you should prepare for a world of hurt!”[/b] MATCH 1: BIG RED [GSR] VS TEIJHO KHAN [TRG]An easy match for Teijho here. One pin attempt for Khan before he was able to get the win. Teijho Khan won with an Asian Spike in a time of 3:04. Teijho Khan gets one point for Team Riot Gear. MATCH 2: WAHOO McDANIEL & MARK YOUNGBLOOD [GSR] VS THE GRAPPLER & MASKED ASSASSIN (with Rip Oliver) [TRG]Mark Youngblood got the first pin attempt of the match, but then The Grappler rattled off his finisher three times onto an easy victory for Rip Oliver's team. MATCH 3: SPIKE HUBER VS "LATIN HEARTTHROB" AL PEREZ Even though Huber was able to use his finisher on Perez, Al came roaring back and used his own finisher three times, and was able to pick up the win shortly thereafter. Al Perez won with an Al-ley Copter in a time of 5:03. PIPER'S PIT: THE GRAPPLER -- The Grappler tries to give the fans a look into his background, but the fans keep booing him loudly. Finally, disgusted by the fans’ reaction, The Grappler says goodbye to Piper and the segment was over! MATCH 4: RPM MIKE DAVIS [GSR] VS "Y2J" CHRIS JERICHO [TRG]Davis was no match for Y2J here. After wearing Davis down with his finisher a number of times, Jericho was able to win this one around the ten minute mark. Chris Jericho won after he used a top rope dropkick in a time of 10:17. Y2J gets one point for Team Riot Gear. MATCH 5: DON GREENE [GSR] VS "WILD" RED BERRY [TRG]-- First Blood Greene dominated the early part of the bout. Berry finally made a bit of a comeback at about the five minute mark. Don Greene then managed to use his finisher a couple of times, and had Berry reeling for a reverse. Greene did not let up, as he went on to win this with his finisher. Don Greene was able to draw First Blood with his finisher-KNOCKOUT PUNCH in a time of 9:29. Don Greene gets two points for the Golden State Renegades. MATCH 6: STANISLAUS ZYBYSZKO VS PAT TANAKA After an early near-fall by Tanaka, Zybyszko was able to secure a win without too much effort. Stanislaus Zybyszko got the pin with a Gut Wrench Suplex in a time of 6:12. MATCH 7: D.E.W. TELEVISION CHAMPION BIG BOSS MAN [TRG] VS AL GREENE (with Don Greene) [GSR] -- Non-title bout Al Greene had early control against the D.E.W. Television Champion. Using his finisher to weaken Boss Man, Greene was in command. Boss Man managed to reverse things though, and soon it was time for Boss Man to use his finisher. Not able to get a win with the move, Boss Man used his finisher again, but Greene would not go down! Then, it was Greene's turn to use his finisher twice, and Greene got the upset in this non-title bout! Al Greene won with his finisher-KNOCKOUT HAYMAKER in a time of 26:07 and receives a Title Bout on the next fight card! Al Greene gets one point for the Golden State Renegades. MATCH 8: FREDDIE BLASSIE VS KILLER KHAN -- Hardcore Tournament Finals Khan was totally focused for this match, and Blassie was playing catch-up all the way through. After just a couple of minutes, Khan finished off his former manager to win the Belt! Card 6: D.E.W. TV Taping on Saturday, April 18, 2009 @ the Cow Palace in Daly City CA KEY: For matches between the Golden State Renegades and the Team Riot Gear teams, each will be identified by their initials. Renegades = [GSR] , Riot Gear = [TRG].
Before the night’s activities began, the crowd was told that Larry Zybyszko wanted to address the crowd. The audience was expecting the egotistical, often-insulting, loud-mouth of a man to address them. Instead, they got a younger, kinder version of the man. “Ladies and gentlemen: I am honored to be here tonight,” Larry began. “It is a privilege to be here in D.E.W., being able to wrestle for you. I will do my best for you and this company, and I intend on giving all of you everything that you’ve paid for.” The crowd was in disbelief! They cautiously gave him a round of applause. Larry continued, “We have some fine athletes here, and I want to prove to everyone how good in the ring I am.” Well, that was about enough for Chris Markoff & Alexis Smirnoff! They approached the ring, trash-talking all the way there in Russian (or at least it sounded like they were trash-talking!) Larry Zybyszko tried to make sure there was no trouble. “I did not come here to stir up anything with you two.” Markoff replied, “ We don’t want you here, Zybyszko! You don’t belong in OUR ring!” With that, Markoff and Smirnoff charged the ring and started beating on Larry Zybyszko! After about a minute of Larry being pounded unmercifully, Stanislaus Zybyszko came down to help out Larry, and the tide turned in their favor! The Russians made a hasty retreat, and the crowd roared their approval of Stanislaus rescuing Larry Zybyszko! Was a new tag team in the works?
MATCH 1: COWBOY FRANKIE LANE VS WAYNE "THE TRAIN" BLOOM Frankie Lane was cautious going into this match. He knew that Bloom would not be a push-over, especially with Bloom’s partner, “Mean” Mike Enos at ringside. Lane struck first with a Flying Dropkick, and then rolled Bloom up in a Small Package. Bloom escaped defeat, only to meet with Lane’s finisher! In came Mike Enos to help, and this shifted the control over to Bloom. Bloom did not waste any time in nailing his finisher, which got Bloom the victory. Wayne Bloom won with a Clothesline in a time of 15:59.
MATCH 2: IVAN PUTSKI & TITO SANTANA VS CHRIS MARKOFF & ALEXIS SMIRNOFF Ivan Putski and Chris Markoff were evenly matched at the beginning of this bout. Once each of them tagged in their partners, it was a different story: Alexis Smirnoff had Santana’s number tonight, as Smirnoff finished off Tito quickly to get his team the win. Alexis Smirnoff & Chris Markoff win when Alexis pinned Tito Santana with a Jumping Stomp in a time of 5:54. After the match, Larry & Stanislaus Zybyszko hit the ring and attacked Markoff & Smirnoff! A large group of referees from the back had to be called in to separate the two groups after their brawl went on for several minutes!
MATCH 3: RUFUS R. JONES [GSR] VS TEIJHO KHAN [TRG] In total control of the match, Rufus R. Jones used his finisher three times! Teijho took a beating, as Jones finally ended the match to get himself the win here. Rufus R. Jones won with a Powerslam in a time of 6:33. Jones gets 1 point for the Golden State Renegades team!

Card 7: D.E.W. House Show on Sunday, April 19, 2009 @ the ARCO Arena in Sacramento CA
Chris Jericho wished to address the crowd before the night's fight card got underway. "Listen! I hear that Andre the Giant is in the building tonight! I'd like to call him out here." The crowd was in total disbelief! Would they be seeing a Jericho / Andre match later tonight? Andre showed his face at one end of the arena. He looked young, healthy, and happy! "All right, 'Junior', I have a proposition for you..." "I accept," Andre said, before waiting to hear what Jericho had to say. Jericho was stunned for a moment. Andre had made it too easy for him. "You accept the proposal, do you?" Andre nodded. "Fine," Jericho said, smiling. "You can face him later tonight," Jericho gleefully added. "Him?" Andre questioned. "I thought YOU were going to challenge me?" Jericho shook his head. "No, I was issuing a challenge for... THIS MAN!" Andre turned around only to be met by KILLER KHAN, who was being followed by FREDDIE BLASSIE! Andre fought back as best he could, as these two rivals sparked off a brawl right then and there! The action continued as the crowd wanted more! Finally, the action disappeared backstage! "Enjoy your match with your former rival, my friend," Jericho said, having successfully tricked Andre (with the old "bait-and-switch") into a match later that night with Killer Khan!
MATCH 1: SPIKE HUBER VS MIGHTY IGOR Igor began the match with a lot of big power moves. Spike was not happy to be on the receiving end of such a pounding, and finally managed to take over. Thinking quickly on his feet, Spike out-wrestled his opponent and managed to pick up the win at about the seven minute mark. Spike Huber won with an Atomic Drop in a time of 7:12.
MATCH 2: MARK YOUNGBLOOD & BILLY WHITE WOLF [GSR] VS AL COSTELLO & ROY HEFFERNAN (Fabulous Kangaroos, w/Red Berry) [TRG] Several tags by the Roos always kept a fresh man in the ring. Each of the Roos managed to use their finisher, all Costello needed to set up his foe for Heffernan's finisher, and it was over! Al Costello pinned Mark Youngblood after Roy Heffernan's finisher-BOOMERANG in a time of 9:44. The Kangaroos get 1 point for their team!
MATCH 3: DON GREENE [GSR] VS FREDDIE BLASSIE [TRG] An early finisher from Don Greene, and Freddie Blassie was in trouble! Blassie however, turned things around and gained the upper hand. Don Greene was bleeding profusely as Blassie kept gnawing away at Greene’s forehead! Don Greene’s “Heavenly Bodies” partner, Al Greene, came to ringside, only to get Don Greene disqualified for outside interference! Freddie Blassie won when the referee disqualified Don Greene for outside interference in a time of 6:22. No points for either team because of the DQ.
PIPER'S PIT: BIG RED -- Sitting in the Pit with Piper as the segment started, Big Red looked uneasy, knowing he was about to get a tongue-lashing now, at the very least. Red took the initiative and handed Piper a contract. "What's this?" Piper asked. "Sign it," Red said. "Prove you are a better wrestler than I am, IF YOU GOT THE GUTS!" Piper said, "Wai-wai-wait a second! You don't make the rules here, I make the rules. I'm not signing nothin'! You can just take your little contract and bug someone else." Piper then crumpled up the contract and began to walk away. "You don't turn your back on ME, Piper!" Big Red exclaimed as Piper left the set on the right side. Big Red picked up the mic and was looking at the right side of the set when Piper reappeared on the LEFT side and blindsided Red with a clothesline! Down went Red, and Piper began to beat on him with several hard fists to the skull! Before any real damage was done, however, Jimmy Snuka showed up and Piper immediately backed away! Piper just smirked at Snuka as Snuka's eyes were alight with intensity! "PIPER," Snuka said loudly into the microphone. "You and me at the D.E.W. Pay-Per-View! Be there, brother!" Piper just glared back at Snuka and slowly backed off. Will the Snuka / Piper feud be resolved at the D.E.W. PPV? Only time will tell...
MATCH 4: LARRY ZYBYSZKO & STANISLAUS ZYBYSZKO VS PAUL DIAMOND & PAT TANAKA (Badd Company) Is this shades of things to come? The Zybyszkos had a VERY quick and easy match against Badd Company, as Paul Diamond experienced lights-out in this fast outing! Larry Zybyszko & Stanislaus Zybyszko won when Larry used a Sleeper on Paul Diamond in a time of just 0:57.
MATCH 5: MIKE GRAHAM (with Dutch Savage) VS "ROWDY" RODDY PIPER Mike Graham was no match for the wily veteran. Piper went for his finisher on three occasions here, as Graham proved to be very little competition for Roddy Piper in this match-up. Roddy Piper won with his finisher-SLEEPER in a time of 2:07.
MATCH 6: WAHOO McDANIEL [GSR] VS MASKED ASSASSIN [TRG] -- Steel Cage Masked Assassin started quickly as they closed the cage door! A second rope Elbow sent Wahoo to the mat! Assassin followed this up with three finishers! Somehow, McDaniel reversed things, sending Assassin’s face flying into the cage! This was all Wahoo needed for the win! Wahoo McDaniel won after he threw Masked Assassin's face into the cage in a time of 4:04. McDaniel gets 2 points for his team!
MATCH 7: BIG RED [GSR] VS "Y2J" CHRIS JERICHO [TRG] Tonight was a good night for Jericho! Although Red started out trying for the win with his finisher, Jericho shrugged it off and began his offensive. A Running Spear, and Jericho was clearly in control. It was not long after that when Jericho finished off his opponent for the win! Chris Jericho won with his finisher-WALLS OF JERICHO in a time of 14:41. Jericho gets 1 point for his team!
MATCH 8: D.E.W. HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION JAY YOUNGBLOOD (with McDaniel) VS BAD NEWS TIM BROOKS -- Non-title Jay Youngblood won when Tim Brooks was disqualified for using the chain in a time of 3:25.
MATCH 9: D.E.W. HARDCORE CHAMP KILLER KHAN (with Freddie Blassie) VS ANDRE THE GIANT -- Non-title Special Attraction match Before the bell even rang, these two were going at it! Blassie interfered on a number of occasions, but it was clear from the onset that Andre was dominating this match. The crowd ate it up as Andre out-powered the Upper Mongolian! A Big Boot and a Headbutt from The Giant, and it was just about over for Khan. On Andre’s next pin attempt, Blassie tried to interfere, but was met by a huge Headbutt from Andre! One more move on a helpless Khan, and Andre walked away the winner in this Special Attraction match-up! Andre the Giant won with an Underhook Suplex in a time of 5:53.
