John Bradshaw Layfield vs. Steve Anthony (local)Layfield beat Anthoy with a flying tackle.
Dark Match
Insane Clown Posse (Shaggy 2 Dope & Violent J) vs. Bob Orton, Sr. & Cowboy Bob Orton, Jr.This was a very even contest until the action moved out of the ring. Bob, Sr. really took it to Dope, knocking him over the guard rail with a clothesline. Dope found his way back to ringside only to be nailed by a chair shot from Bob, Sr. The ref called for the disqualification. Bob, Jr. grabbed a chair and clobbered Violent J. Then the Ortons got together and delivered a vicious spike piledriver to Dope on the concrete floor outside the ring. Cyclon Negro and Pantera ran to the ring and a wild brawl erupted. The ref, with the help of other officials, finally broke up the melee. Dope was seriously injured and needed to be taken from the ringside area on a stretcher.
Dark Match
Johnny Rodz vs. Bobby Jaggers (w/Dutch Mantel)Rodz got some decent shots in but Jaggers stayed in control for most of the match. Then the action ended up outside the ring and both wrestlers brawled. They lost track of the refs count and the match ended in a double count out.
Dark Match
Young Pistols (Tracy Smothers & Steve Armstrong) vs. Interns (w/Dr. Ken Ramey)Intern #2 pinned Smothers with a flying cross body block. After the match, Ramey distracted Armstrong while the Interns attacked Smothers. They gave Smothers and ETHER RAG KNOCKOUT then put the boots to him. Armstrong finally got past Ramey to come to his partners aid and the Inters exited.
Dark Match
Iceberg (w/Slick) vs. Haku (w/Tama)Haku seemed to have Icebergs number, even when Slick tried to distract the ref. The ref ignored Slick and Haku beat Iceberg with a CRESCENT KICK.
Dark Match
Southern Rockers (Steve Doll & Rex King) vs. The Perfect Tag Team (Nick Kiniski & Kevin Kelly)The Perfect Tag Team came out of the blocks in a hurry but the Southern Rockers quickly countered. That led to Doll pinning Kiniski after a second ROCKERPLEX.
(WatC intro)
(Eddie Stewart and Sam Muchnick are at ringside.)
Stewart: Greetings. This is Wrestling at the Chase and I’m your host Eddie Stewart. I am joined by Sam Muchnick and Sam, we’ve already had some great action here tonight before going on the air.
Muchnick: Yes and a couple of disturbing events as well.
(Footage is show of the earlier attacks by the Ortons and Interns.)
Stewart: Yes, some despicable behavior by both the Ortons and Interns. Now I understand that Shaggy 2 Dope has suffered some possible damage to his neck that could keep him out for some time. Smothers was also taken to a medical facility for some observation.
Muchnick: I would really like to know what prompted those post-match attacks.
Stewart: Sam, I’m am getting word that we will have those events explained later on tonight. Tonight is also the night that we crown the first Heart of America Tag Team Champions.
Muchnick: That’s right. The winners of our two tournaments will face off when Jay & Jules Strongbow take on Black Gordman and Great Goliath.
Stewart: Plus, Heart of America Heavyweight Champion Carlos Colon puts his belt on the line against Pat O’Connor. That’s actually our main event tonight but now let’s get back to tonight’s other action.
Boogeyman (w/Slick) vs. Bushwacker Butch (w/Bushwacker Luke)Butch missed a turnbuckle charge in the early going and connected with the steel ring post. Butch hung around for a while but never completely recovered from his early miscue and Boogeyman pinned him with a flying body press.

Samoan Island Tribe (Alofa & Samu) vs. Kentuckians (Grizzly Smith & Luke Brown)This match was brutal from the start. The action ended up outside and that’s where the match ended. Samu whipped Smith into the guard rail. The ref warned Samu about his actions and urged him to return the action to the ring. Samu continued his assault and, finally, the frustrated ref disqualified Samu.
Stewart: Samu got a little carried away there and it cost his team. My understanding is we are going to find out what promoted the attacks from earlier when we come back. Stay tuned.

(Back from break and Eddie Stewart is in the ring with Pat O’Connor, Mike DiBiase, the Ortons, Curtis Hughes, the Interns and Dr. Ken Ramey.)
Stewart: Welcome back to Wrestling at the Chase. As you can see, I’m joined in the ring by this slew of wresters and I have been promised an answer as to why the attacks from earlier took place.
O’Connor: I told everyone two weeks ago, this group has taken exception to the punks that have come here, trying to gain fame at our expense.
Stewart: It looks like your group is growing.
O’Connor: You would be correct. More and more stars from the Central States area have heard about out plight and are joining in the cause.
Stewart: But what’s with the attacks from earlier tonight?
O’Connor: It’s like I said a couple weeks ago. If you’re not with us, you’re against us and we had to make a point.
Stewart: The Ortons may’ve seriously injured Shaggy 2 Dope.
O’Connor: Then our message will be sent.
Stewart: I really don’t agree with this. I think Harley Race was right when he said his piece two weeks ago.
O’Connor: Harley Race is a buffoon. I invite him back here and face me one on one. I’ll prove to him that the Central States area has to be protected from interlopers.
Stewart: All I have to say is careful what you wish for. We’ll be right back.

“Iron” Mike DiBiase vs. Wilbur SnyderSnyder quickly dispatched DiBiase with an ABDOMINAL STRETCH.

(Back from break and a prerecorded message is shown.)
(The shot opens up as the camera tilts up to reveal John Bradshaw Layfield, sitting behind an oak desk. Layfield is dressed in a very nice business suit.)
Layfield: Hello. My name is John Bradshaw Layfield. Many of you may know me as an investment guru. This is true. I have made a lot of money and I want to share that money with my fellow wrestlers. Now you might be asking why I would be willing to do this. The answer is simple – I am a very giving individual. Now you’re probably asking yourself how you can get your hands on some of my money. This answer is simple as well – you must accept and pass the Layfield Gauntlet Challenge.
The Layfield Gauntlet Challenge consists of three phases. Each phase requires you to defeat a wrestler of my choosing either by submission or knockout. If you can beat the first two wrestlers, the third wrestler you must beat will be yours truly. You didn’t think I’d let my money go without having some say in it did you? Of course not. That would be ludicrous. I may be generous but I’m not stupid like anyone who answers this challenge. I guarantee I will never have to face anyone who accepts this challenge. And even if I do, there will be no way that you will beat me because I am a wrestling god.
The Layfield Gauntlet Challenge begins next week so if you’re interested, fill out the proper release forms and we will select the first challenger in the Layfield Gauntlet Challenge.
(break)
Stewart: Welcome back. What do you think about the Layfield Gauntlet Challenge?
Muchnick: It will definitely be an interesting and innovative contest. But let me get this straight. Each phase happens on the same night.
Stewart: And in consecutive matches, if I’m not mistaken. I wonder who Mr. Layfield has found to wrestle in the first two phases.
Muchnick: We’ll find out next week.
Stewart: You got that right. Now it’s time to crown our first Heart of America Tag Team Champions. Any predictions, Sam?
Muchnick: I have to go with Gordman and Goliath. They’ve been hot and you can’t deny a hot team.
Stewart: I will agree but you can’t discount the Strongbows. They got past 15 other teams to get to this match and that’s saying something. Let’s go up to the ring and see what happens.
HoA Tag Team Title Match
Jay & Jules Strongbow vs. Black Gordman & Great GoliathGoliath made Jules submit to LA DE EL CABALLO.
(break)
Stewart: We have crowned our first Heart of America Tag Team Champions. Will we crown another new champion? We’re about to find out because our main event is next.
HoA Heavyweight Title Match
Pat O’Connor vs. HoA Heavyweight Champion Carlos ColonO’Connor made Colon submit to a SPINNING TOE HOLD to win the title.
Stewart: Pat O’Connor is the new Heart of America Heavyweight Champion. The Central States Warriors have all come to the ring to congratulate their leader.
Muchnick: Pat O’Connor has shown what pride in Central States is all about. I’m sure he will be the target of almost all of those up and comers he’s been complaining about.
Stewart: Indeed. Well, that’s all the time we have here tonight. We’ll see you next on Wrestling at the Chase.
