Modes->Association->New It will take you to the interface that allows for selecting minutes, difficulty, ect.. Put custom league (? Not having it on at the moment but pretty sure this is what it is) on yes and hit start. It will bring up a list of all the teams. Highlight the team that you want to replace and scroll to the legendary team. **Note** You have to replace a team and yes you could have 2 Bulls teams, one current and the legendary one. My advice; if you are going to replace the Bulls, at least make Derrick Rose a FA because once you lose a team, you lose all players associated with that team. Going back to the legendary teams. I'm assuming that you could place all of the legendary teams in the same league. '91-'92 Bulls vs the '96-'97 squad? Hmmmm.

Also, a couple players on that legendary Cavs team were Mark Price, Brad Daugherty and Larry Nance, just off the top of my head.

I lost 91-43. I'm terrible at this game but I'll be damned if it's not the most fun I've had with a basketball game not called NBA Jam.

I say the Nets stop their pipe dream of Carmelo and ust keep building what they have. Yeah; NBA 2K11 takes some getting used to for sure. Definitely have to be more patient and stop turning the ball over.....which is my problem. With the '85-'86 Bulls; I lost by 40 to Durant and the Thunder. They don't fucking miss shots for shit

Do they have lots of Legendary teams, or just Jordan teams? Because being able to use Larry and Co. might be worth going to buy it tomorrow Re-read the question, the legends teams in the game are: 1985-86 Chicago Bulls 1985-86 Boston Celtics (Larry Bird) 1989-90 Chicago Bulls 1989-90 Atlanta Hawks (Dominique, Spud) 1989-90 Cleveland Cavaliers 1989-90 Detroit Pistons (Thomas, Rodman) 1990-91 Chicago Bulls 1990-91 Los Angeles Lakers (Divac, Magic, Worthy) 1991-92 Chicago Bulls 1991-92 Portland Trailblazers (Drexler) 1994-95 Chicago Bulls 1994-95 New York Knicks (Ewing, Starks) 1995-96 Chicago Bulls 1995-96 Seattle Supersonics (Kemp, Payton) 1996-97 Chicago Bulls 1996-97 Utah Jazz (Stockton, Malone) 1997-98 Chicago Bulls 1997-98 Utah Jazz (Stockton, Malone) So basically, it's all the teams from the Jordan Challenge mode. I put in parentheses the key players of the non Jordan teams (to my knowledge). I have no idea about the Cavs from 89-90. The best team in the game (from what I read on the IGN Guide) is the 91-92 Bulls. That Celtics team THE BEST team ever, in real life. Bird/McHale/Paris/DJ/Ainge as the started, and Bill Walton off the Bench.

I'm thinking the '91-'92 Bulls could take 'em. I KNOW the '95-'96 Bulls team would.

It's only the legend teams that play apart in the Jordan Challenge. Otherwise there could be 50+ legend teams.

I wonder if they're going to do another Jordan Challenge-esque mode next year, and who it would be for if they did, or if they'd just go with putting in legend teams. I'd love to see the 94/95 Pacers in a modern basketball game.

Been playing it all day, and I figured I should post it. My review of NBA JAM for the PS3. Short review, but there's not a ton to say about it.
In the mid 1990s, there were few sports games that made the impact that Midway's NBA Jam did. No other game from that era (sports game, anyways) spawned as many spin offs, including those of different sports, than the original NBA Jam. The series' name had been run into the ground by Acclaim until the announcement was made that EA Sports would be bringing the game back. Is the game a hit or a miss?
The first thing you'll notice is that the character models are fully rendered with the exception of the heads, which are digitized pictures of the actual players pasted onto the bodies. This sounds weird, even bad, but trust me, it looks fantastic. The arenas are very well designed, and there's animation from your teammates on the bench during gameplay. And the backboard shattering looks amazing in this game. Make no bones about it, NBA JAM is no slouch in the graphics department.
The next thing you'll notice, is the gameplay. For one, it plays just like the old JAM. There's a turbo button, a button to call for an alley oop, the shot button, and the block button. Block + Turbo equals a shove, and depending on the power rating of your player, could mean a turnover. It's a very basic tried and true formula, and there's nothing wrong with keeping it the same. My only gripe is that you can't change the control settings. Having L1/L2 as the turbo buttons instead of L1/R1 is kind of weird.
Tim Kitzrow reprises his role as the announcer here, and as to be expected, there's a ton of awesome commentary lines in the game when you hit a big dunk. "You bring the peanut butter...and I'll bring the JAM!", "Somebody needs to get this guy to backboard anger management", "KABOOM", and the classic "BOOMSHAKALAKA" are among the best lines in the game. The music in the game is great, and fitting of NBA Jam.
The game doesn't lack for modes, either. There's exhibition (Play Now), the classic campaign where you face all the teams in every division punctuated by a special legends team at the end, and Remix Modes. There's a lot of fun to be had here, especially in a mode called "Smash". Simply put, the objective here is to smash the backboard with dunks. The first team to do so, wins. The Remix tour is the same thing as campaign, but there's powerups and things that get dropped on the floor. Remix Tour is a fun distraction, but Classic Campaign is the show. Also, there's online play for EVERY one of the game modes.
In conclusion, NBA JAM is a really good tribute to the original arcade game. The gameplay is just as fun as it was back in the day, and there's a ton of awesome unlockable legends and other characters to keep the game fresh for a while to come. My only real gripe is with the legends selection. Detlef Scrempf is NOT a Pacers legend, and Shaq as a Magic legend is cool, but why isn't he on the Celtics?
If you're a basketball fan, or just someone looking for a fun arcade style game, I'd recommend this, especially at the $50 price point. It's nowhere near NBA 2K11 as far as realism, but it sure does rival 2K11 when it comes to the fun factor and overall enjoyment of the game. This is one of the best sports games of the last few years.
Overall Rating: 9.0
I've written a 2K11 review but want more time with the game before I finish the review up.

Just watched Pistons/Lakers. Was a fun game imo. Been playing a lot of NBA JAM, unlocked Ewing/Starks. The team of Shaq and Dwight Howard is so sick, they're like unstoppable. Both guys have a high dunk stat and a high block stat. I've won almost every game so far with them by 30 points or more.

Ewing and Starks was one of my favorite combos in the old days:D That was a dark time is Celtic history... I'm pretty sure they had Dino Radja, Dee Brown, and Xavier McDaniel. I'm probably gonna pick this up for my little brother for X-mas so I can play it
