WWL TV Week 5 Recap:
Four teams enter this week undefeated, how many leave that way? Let's get to the recap.
New York City (4-1) @ Phoenix (4-1) (US Airways Center) - Phoenix get another week at home, but this week, they would lose their undefeated streak to New York City. Nigel McGuinness lost a laughably short match to The Masked Superstar, and Dan Severn took care of Rick Rude.
Utah (1-4) @ Tokyo (2-3) (Ariake Coliseum) - Rikidozan wasn't playing around here, he took down his protege, Antonio Inoki with the cops, and Jushin Liger took care of Red Bastien to give Tokyo a much needed victory at home.
New Mexico (1-4) @ Seattle (2-3) (Key Arena) - Seattle ended last week at .500, and this week they'll begin another climb back to that point as New Mexico gets their first win of the season by way of King Kong Bundy's Avalanche to Kip James in match one, and an Adam Pearce Piledriver to Jimmy Snuka.
Portland (5-0) @ St. Louis (4-1) (Checkerdome) - Possibly the most anticipated match of the season thus far as the two undefeated teams of the West duked it out, and on this day, Portland walks out of the Checkerdome with the W following Ox Baker's Heart Punch to Bryan Danielson and Giant Baba's domination of Harley Race.
Mexico City (1-4) @ San Francisco (1-4) (Cow Palace) - Chris Hero steps it up at home to take down Mexico City when he used the Emerald Elbow Pad to slide by Konnan, and Brian Blair got a countout win over Dennis Condrey. Gorgeous George is expected back in two weeks, can the team carry the weight without him?
Boston (3-2) @ Los Angeles (3-2) (STAPLES Center) - RVD talked a ton of game going into this week, but couldn't back it up as Chris Candido pulled the plug on the Whole F'N Show with the Blonde Bomb. Bobo Brazil used the Coco Butt to get past Crusher and secure the third win of the season for Boston.
Philadelphia (3-2) @ Oklahoma City (3-2) (Oklahoma City Arena) - The Extreme Three came to OKC to take on the Big Three this week. In Match Number one, Justin Credible put away Eddie Edwards, much to the shock of everyone in attendance. Philly's good fortune would end there as Steve Williams destroyed the Sandman, and Nick Bockwinkel forced Steve Corino into submission in what was the Game of the week.
Columbus (1-4) @ San Diego (3-2) (San Diego Sports Arena) - Columbus took it on the road to San Diego this week, but all they have to show for it is another loss as they fell victim to the attack of Mark Briscoe in match one, and Larry Hennig put away Greg Valentine in match two.
Dallas (2-3) @ Orlando (5-0) (American Airlines Arena) - Orlando keeps its undefeated streak alive as they hosted a strong Dallas team this week. Ted DiBiase submitted Brad Armstrong, but Angelo Mosca proved too much for Bobby Eaton. In OT, Don Leo Jonathan took the win over Tiger Mask to keep Atlanta's momentum alive.
Houston (1-4) @ Atlanta (2-3) (Phillips Arena) - Atlanta played host to a struggling Houston team, and finally got themselves back on track as their captain Curt Hennig took care of George Hackenschmidt, and Roderick Strong forced Jim Brunzell into submission.
Montreal (2-3) @ New Orleans (4-1) (Hirsh Coliseum) - Is that a rumbling Giant I hear? On this night it was as Andre lead the Destroyers to a two-match victory over Montreal. Andre got the Big Splash against Don Muraco, and Chuck Taylor took care of Hacksaw Duggan to bring New Orleans' to second place in the Eastern Conference.
Detroit (3-2) @ Chicago (3-2) (Allstate Arena) - Detroit didn't even need to push Overtime as Sabu and Terry Gordy got it done in Chi-Town, beating Bruiser Brody and Delirious respectively, the D is well on its way to establishing itself as a threat in the East.

Week 6 Recap:
New York City (5-1) @ Utah (1-5) - The long road trip continues for NYC as they land in Utah for a match with the Pioneers. Jim Londos started for the first time this season, easily defeating Brent Albright. NYC sent in The Masked Superstar, who dealt with Red Bastien. Dan Severn finished the night off, submitting Antonio Inoki with the Wakigatame to bring NYC to 5-1.
Phoenix (4-2) @ Seattle (3-3) - Following their first loss of the season, Phoenix headed to Seattle to look to regain momentum. On this night, the game couldn't come together as Kip James put down Rick Rude, and "Superfly" took flight to take down Nigel McGuinness. Seattle, a team that once looked like it had no chance this season is now at .500, and the Glory's losing streak grew to two.
Tokyo (2-4) @ Portland (6-0) - The Rose Garden backed their team to the fullest tonight as they had arguably their toughest challenge to date in this Tokyo team. Match one saw Giant Baba lose to his mentor Rikidozan's thunderous chops, much to the surprise of the fans in attendance. DDP would step it up for Portland, hitting the Diamond Cutter on Frank Gotch to secure the victory and send Tokyo's Jushin Liger into overtime against Ox Baker. You guessed it, one heart punch later, and Portland remains on top in the West.
New Mexico (1-5) @ San Francisco (2-4) - Two teams that desperately needed a win collided in the Cow Palace. Brian Blair fumbled the match against Koko B. Ware, but not one to give up the fight, Chris Hero knocked out King Kong Bundy, forcing this mandatory two-match game to a decision where the judges concluded the knockout of King Kong Bundy was more impressive than Koko's win. San Fran goes up 2-4.
St. Louis (5-1) @ Los Angeles (3-3) - Harley Race lead STL into the STAPLES Center for their first season matchup with the LA Express. RVD would not be doing much thumb pointing on this night, as he tapped out to Bryan Danielson's Cattle Mutilation, and Harley Race quickly disposed of Nikolai Volkoff with the Piledriver.
Mexico City (1-5) @ Oklahoma City (4-2) - Mexico brought a pretty tough three game losing streak to the Oklahoma City Arena, where they would find no sympathy as Danny Hodge, starting for the second time this season, quickly put away Konnan, and Steve Williams beat Mil Mascaras. After opening the season with two losses, OKC has been on a rampage.
Boston (4-2) @ San Diego (3-3) - Two of the premier teams in each conference met at the Sports Arena in what was a heated battle. In match one, Mark Briscoe took down Danny Doring. Chris Candido bounced back, pinning Larry Hennig. In the third and final match, Bobo Brazil beat Eddie Kingston with the Coco Butt to drop SD to .500, and bring Boston to 4-2.
Philadelphia (3-3) @ Orlando (6-0) - As every other team to cross them has found out, Orlando may just be unstoppable. Philadelphia rolled into town and ran into a bit of foul trouble as Sandman exceeded the foul limit in the opening match with Bobby Eaton. Ted DiBiase put away Steve Corino in the second match, and Orlando remains #1 in the East.
Columbus (1-5) @ Atlanta (3-3) - CBUS continued a long losing streak this week in the ATL as Curt Hennig beat Larry Zybysko in a competitive match, and The Destroyer did just that when he got in the ring with Greg Valentine.
Dallas (2-4) @ New Orleans (4-2) - Andre the Giant started this week, winning a close match against Angelo Mosca. There is where the week fell apart for Watts' New Orleans team. In match two, Brad Armstrong beat his father Bob Armstrong, and in match three, Tiger Mask pinned Chuck Taylor with a Tiger Suplex, proving that starting Andre the Giant was a huge mistake, and giving Dallas a much needed win.
Houston (1-5) @ Chicago (4-2) - George Hackenschmidt came to Chicago with the intention of building momentum for his team. He beat Delirious in Match #1. Road Warrior Animal pinned Mad Dog Vachon in match two, and in the final match, Bruiser Brody beat down Jim Brunzell to give Chicago win #4.
Montreal (2-4) @ Detroit (4-2) - Detroit didn't need Overtime at the Joe Louis Arena as Sabu and The Missing Link beat Montreal's power combination of Jim Duggan and Don Muraco, dropping Montreal to an embarrassing 2-4. Detroit, after a period of uncertainty, seems like they're on the right track.
LEAGUE NEWS: - Davey Richards (FA) signed by Tokyo - Gran Akuma (FA) signed by Boston - Antonio Rocca (DET) for Tiger Mask (DAL) for Chris Candido (BOS)

WWL TV Week 7 Recap;
New York City (6-1) @ Seattle (3-4) - Seattle welcomed the Titans for what was a very entertaining match this week. Match one saw Ray Stevens start, losing to Brent Albright. Match two went the way of Seattle as Kip James put down Brutus Beefcake. As we went to overtime, Seattle was ready to shock the world, and nearly did, but in the end the Beast Choker was too much for the Superfly, and Dan Severn helped NYC reach 6-1. Seattle sent a clear message to the league in this one: "We won't go down easy"
Utah (1-6) @ Portland (7-0) - The Pioneers rolled into the Rose Garden with one of the worst records in the league and unfortunately, they left the city with an even worse one. Ox Baker wasn't playing around as with one Heart Punch, he took down Red Bastien. Jim Londos beat DDP in a great match. And the second game of the week went into overtime as Antonio Inoki and Giant Baba fought to a ten minute draw. The match went to the judges, and Portland got the win for the commanding victory of match one. Utah's still struggling to get any momentum going.
Phoenix (4-3) @ San Francisco (3-4) - Gorgeous George returned to the Cow Palace this week, starting for San Francisco and defeating Nigel McGuinness in match one. This was a short game, as Chris Hero put down Rick Rude to send Phoenix further down the ranks in the West.
Tokyo (3-4) @ Los Angeles (3-4) - A new look Tokyo team had a lot to prove this week and ultimately did as Davey Richards knocked out RVD in the first match, and Rikidozan chopped down the Russian Nikolai Volkoff to give Tokyo a huge win in LA.
New Mexico (1-6) @ Oklahoma City (5-2) - OKC putting together quite a playoff resume and it continued at home when New Mexico came into town. Steve Williams took down the mammoth King Kong Bundy in match one, and as if there was nothing to it, Danny Hodge beat Koko B. Ware to bring this game to a very bitter end for New Mexico.
St. Louis (5-2) @ San Diego (4-3) - The question all season has been, "Do extended rosters work?" Today, it was proven that indeed they DO as Jay Briscoe pinned Bryan Danielson. Harley Race got Mark Briscoe in match two, but when the lights were on bright, Eddie Kingston blasted Claudio with a lariat to give San Diego their biggest victory of the season.
Mexico City (1-6) @ Orlando (7-0) - Los Bandidos could not get it together in Orlando as the Mormon Giant took care of Mil Mascaras in match one, and Konnan proved to be no match for Ted DiBiase in match two. Orlando continues to be the leader in the East, while Mexico City falls to the bottom of the barrel.
Boston (3-4) @ Atlanta (4-3) - Two teams come in at .500, but only one left Phillips Arena with the W. Bobo Brazil took the fight to The Destroyer in match one, a brutal, hard hitting match that saw Bobo win with the Coco Butt. Match two would be a bit tougher as Tiger Mask took on Stan Lane in a losing effort. With the lights on bright, Gran Akuma took on Curt Hennig in a short OT match, as Hennig hit the Hennigplex to bring it all to an end for Boston.
Philadelphia (4-3) @ New Orleans (4-3) - Philly came down to the Superdome in New Orleans to prove that a Giant meant nothing, and they proved that point this week as Steve Corino outlasted the Giant in the first match of the night, winning by countout when Andre couldn't get back in the ring. It looks like Andre's leg was reinjured. This isn't good for Bill Watts. Chuck Taylor took on Justin Credible in a losing effort, and the once dominant Destroyers are looking less than good, losing a decisive match to Philly.
Columbus (1-6) @ Chicago (5-2) - Playoff dreams for Columbus are becoming more pipe dreams as they lose more and more matches, and this time it was a one-two punch from the roughest team in the league. Greg Valentine fell to Road Warrior Animal, and then Ed Lewis lost to Bruiser Brody in match two.
Dallas (2-5) @ Detroit (5-2) - The Shooters looked to show off new acquisition Antonio Rocca, but didn't get much of a chance as Terry Gordy hit him with a Powerbomb, and Sabu used the Arabian Facebuster on Brad Armstrong to bring Detroit's winning streak to 5.
Houston (2-5) @ Montreal (2-5) - Montreal's bad luck continues as Houston came to the Centre Bell with ill intentions for the Quebeccers. Jim Duggan would defeat Jim Brunzell in the first match, but Mad Dog Vacon would take down Don Muraco, and in overtime, Jacques Rougeau would fall before George Hackenschmidt as Houston breaks the slump in Montreal.
LEAGUE NEWS: - Andre the Giant's leg injury has become even worse as a result of the match with Steve Corino, Andre will almost certainly be out for the rest of the season.

ESPN - Bill Watts Fired, Andre the Giant and Destroyers Roster Update:
--- NEW ORLEANS; Announced by New Orleans GM after the game tonight against Philadelphia, Bill Watts has been fired from his head coach position due to his "constant endangering of Andre the Giant" and "deliberate disregard for the wellbeing of the Destroyers".
This decision isn't much of a shock given that New Orleans lost in Week 6 to Dallas, whom only had 1 win on the season prior to that game, and New Orleans' loss to Philadelphia in Week 7.
Watts made the bold prediction in the Pre-Season that his team would win at least 30 games, and win the league championship. His trade of Brent Albright and Steve Williams for Andre the Giant seemed to cement this statement until Andre was injured, and cleared to wrestle but only for Overtime matches.
The GM said that Watts disregarded the statement from doctors because he wanted to prove that Andre wasn't just an overtime wrestler, a decision that Andre disagreed with and was the key reason he wanted to be traded from New York City to begin with.
The decision Watts made to trade away both of New Orleans' draft picks for the upcoming season didn't sit well with management, either. Watts said the ends justified the means.
Many within the league questioned Watts' decision to put Andre in the ring with the Road Warriors in what was ultimately the team's first loss in a crucial overtime period. The following week, Watts started Andre against Don Muraco, whom attacked Andre's leg. Every team was out for blood, and the GM said that Watts was, "Reckless in his mission to prove that he was the best coach in the league."
Jim Ross, Oklahoma City Head Coach, said after OKC's win over Mexico City that he'd love to have Watts as an Assistant Coach, but it seems that Watts may be taking over the St. Louis team at the recommendation of Harley Race.
When asked, Watts made no comment.
As for Andre the Giant, he will most likely be out for the entire season, but would be able to return for the post-season should New Orleans make it to the post-season. He had several fractures in his left leg, and Corino's relentless attack caused severe damage to an already serious problem.
The team may just survive however, because two major, crucial trades were made as they traded Johnny Valentine to Phoenix for Rick Rude, and traded Bob Armstrong and Year 3's First Round draft pick to New Mexico for Mike Quackenbush. Rude and Quackenbush, within estimation of experts, are more than qualified to carry the team, paired with Chuck Taylor and Brodie Lee, New Orleans has a solid lineup should Andre be out for the full season.

Seattle (4-4) @ San Francisco (3-5) - San Francisco's Gorgeous George returned last week to help his team pick up a win, but Seattle didn't seem phased. Tokyo (3-5) @ San Diego (5-3) - Things are looking a crap shoot out in the west, no teams really performing well and two teams went head to head that needed a win, and San Diego pulled it out at home as Eddie Kingston damn near beheaded Jushin Liger, and Larry Hennig took care of Frank Gotch.
New Mexico (1-7) @ Orlando (8-0) - By the time Orlando stepped into the ring this week, they were the only remaining undefeated team in the league, and they left the ring tonight the same way. St. Louis (5-3) @ Atlanta (5-3) - Bill Watts was nowhere to be seen here after being fired by New Orleans last week, and St. Louis could have used some direction. Boston (3-5) @ Chicago (6-2) - After a good first 6 weeks, Boston's nosedive continues as they took on the Warriors at Allstate Arena. Bruiser Brody Knee Dropped his way to a victory over Bobo Brazil, and Delirious pulled out the upset of the week, beating Tiger Mask to give Chicago win number 6.
Philadelphia (5-3) @ Detroit (5-3) - Two of the most physical teams in the league went at it at the Joe Louis Arena, and Philly emerged with the victory as Steve Corino beat Terry Gordy in overtime. Sabu won the first match over The Sandman, and Justin Credible pinned The Missing Link. Both teams go to 5-3.
Columbus (2-6) @ Montreal (2-6) - Two struggling teams in the east battled at Centre Bell, and neither put on a convincing performance as Greg Valentine wrestled Don Muraco to a draw in match one. Match two saw Jim Duggan beat Larry Zybysko, and Ed Lewis beat Jacques Rougeau in overtime. The game went to the judges, who awarded Columbus the win for Lewis' dominant win over Rougeau. The once dominant Montreal team is at the bottom of the east.
Dallas (2-6) @ Houston (3-5) - The Texas had themselves a shootout this week, and Houston picked up their first win at home thanks to George Hackenschmidt's victory over Brad Armstrong in overtime.

WWL TV Week 9 Recap:
With Orlando tearing up the league, entering at 8-0. Every long standing undefeated team has lost their undefeated streak at home, will the Hurricanes follow suit?
New York City (8-1) @ San Francisco (3-6) - San Francisco hosted the New York Titans this week, and we had a bloodbath on our hands. Gorgeous George started again, easily defeating Brutus Beefcake. Brian Blair would lose to Dan Severn in the second match. Overtime would prove that NYC is one of the great clutch teams in the league as Brent Albright submitted Chris Hero to bring NYC to 8-1.
Portland (8-1) @ Los Angeles (3-6) - After a huge loss last week to the Titans, Portland took it on the road this week to face a struggling LA team. Nikolai Volkoff felt the full power of Ox Baker's heart punch, and Giant Baba quickly put down RVD to bring an end to what could have been a season-altering losing streak.
Seattle (4-5) @ Oklahoma City (7-2) - A determined Seattle team came to Oklahoma this week looking to prove that they belong among the top teams in the league, not just the West. Kip James would actually defeat Steve Williams in the first match with his Fame Ass Er. The fans in OKC didn't give up on their team as Nick Bockwinkel beat Jimmy Snuka, and in overtime, Danny Hodge took down Ray Stevens to bring OKC to a strong 7-2.
Utah (3-6) @ San Diego (5-4) - Utah has had a rough season so far, and they took it to San Diego this week, winning two straight matches as Jim Londos took down Eddie Kingston, and Antonio Inoki's enzugiri would put down Larry Hennig. Utah is still near the bottom of the West, but this was a huge win for them.
Phoenix (4-5) @ Orlando (9-0) - Orlando would not be deterred by rumors for a home team disadvantage for undefeated teams this week. Match one saw Bobby Eaton defeat Johnny Valentine via the Alabama Jam. Nigel McGuinness took out Ted DiBiase in a huge upset, but in the overtime period, Don Leo Jonathan would bring down the Necro Butcher. Phoenix's losing streak grows to 5.
Tokyo (4-5) @ Atlanta (5-4) - Tokyo hit the road this week to take on a tough Atlanta squad in front of a sold-out Georgia Dome. Rikidozan went right after Curt Hennig, winning with those heart-stopping chops. The night would be short for the ATL, as Jushin Liger put down Stan Lane with a Liger Bomb to bring Tokyo to 4-5.
New Mexico (1-8) @ New Orleans (6-3) - Note to the West: If you're not wrestling at a high level, don't come to the East. New Mexico learned that this week as they took yet another big loss, this time to the Destroyers. Rick Rude hit the Rude Awakening on King Kong Bundy in Match #1, and Adam Pearce fell prey to the Chikara Special from Mike Quackenbush.
St. Louis (5-4) @ Chicago (7-2) - Two of the roughest, and toughest teams in the league went head-to-head at Allstate Arena this week. Road Warrior Hawk pinned Bryan Danielson in the opening match. Claudio Castagnoli took down Delirious in Match Two. In a moment of brilliance from the two coaches, Harley Race and Bruiser Brody, each team's heavy hitter, were called in for overtime, forcing a 10 minute draw. The game went to the judges, who ruled that Hawk's victory over Danielson and Brody's dominance of the 10 minute draw would give Chicago the victory.
Mexico City (1-8) @ Detroit (6-3) - The Joe Louis Arena was white hot as the Detroit Riot took to the ring against Los Bandidos, who were looking to snap a huge losing streak. That didn't happen tonight as Mil Mascaras would lose to Sabu, and Terry Gordy would drop Konnan. Detroit continues to be the little engine that could, and are one of the most feared teams in the East.
Boston (4-5) @ Montreal (2-7) - The Boston Stranglers have had an up and down kind of season so far, but they came to Centre Bell to walk out with a huge win, and they did just that. Danny Doring defeated Jacques Rougeau, whom was starting for the first time this season for Montreal. Match two would be easy as Bobo Brazil took down Don Muraco to give Boston the W.
Philadelphia (6-3) @ Houston (3-6) - Philly flew down to Houston for a big match with George Hackenschmidt's Oilers. Hackenschmidt beat Sandman in no time at all, sending a clear message to the Revolution. Steve Corino responded by beating Mad Dog Vachon in convincing fashion, and Justin Credible took down Jim Brunzell to give Philly its sixth win of the season.
Dallas (3-6) @ Columbus (2-7) - The Shooters were in desperate need of some momentum, and they got it in CBUS this week as they mowed through Greg Valentine and Ed Lewis. Angelo Mosca took care of the Strangler in match one, and Brad Armstrong secured the win in match two over Greg Valentine.
LEAGUE STANDINGS: EASTERN CONFERENCE: Orlando (9-0) New York City (8-1) Oklahoma City (7-2) Chicago (7-2) New Orleans (6-3) Philadelphia (6-3) Detroit (6-3) Atlanta (5-4) St. Louis (5-4) Boston (4-5) Columbus (2-7) Montreal (2-7)

Yahoo! Sports - New Mexico Goes With An Entirely New Look; Playoff Thresholds:
-- SANTA FE, New Mexico. It was announced today that the New Mexico Coyotes did something unthinkable - they waived three of their four wrestlers, and signed four new ones in their place.
Why, you ask? Because according to the head coach, Gary Hart, it was necessary.
"You see, we didn't have a great lineup before we got Koko and Bundy, but now, I think we'll at least be able to make up for lost time and by Week 20, I think we'll be alright." said Hart earlier today at the press conference.
The players waived? Bob Armstrong, Koko B. Ware, and Adam Pearce. Simply put, Hart didn't see any of them as key ingredients to a winning team.
So, who did he see as that? The One Man Gang, a wrestler not unlike King Kong Bundy. Jimmy Jacobs, a talented young wrestler who can take a beating to give a beating. Erick Stevens, another young wrestler with more of a focus on power and whom many compare to Steve Williams. And yet another young, yet talented superstar in Jack Swagger. Swagger is a 6'5, 260 pound monster from Oklahoma City who also wrestles like Steve Williams, but has an amateur background.
Of the new team, Hart spoke, "I think with the combination of power, size, and speed we've got, we can make a run at the playoffs. Maybe not this year, we'll have to see. But definitely, this team can do it next year."
Speaking of the playoffs, speculation has begun as to what record will get teams into the playoffs. Now obviously this won't be more concrete until around Week 25 or so, but the expected Win-Loss thresholds in each conference are: East: 25-10 West: 20-15
There's a pretty big gap between the two conferences, but looking at the current standings, it would appear to be a miracle if more than a few teams in the West reached 20 wins.

WWL Week 10 Recap:
The hunt for the first loss of the year for Orlando continues, and does Gary Hart's bigger, younger New Mexico squad put the team back on track?
New York City (9-1) @ Los Angeles (3-7) - The long, long road trip for the Titans continued as they rolled right on to LA to take on RVD and the LA Express. Match one saw Dan Severn tear The Crusher down with the Wakigatame, and Match two would end the game as The Masked Superstar beat Rob Van Dam. NYC goes to 9-1 and looks ahead to next week's showdown in Oklahoma City.
Oklahoma City (8-2) @ San Francisco (3-7) - Meanwhile, in San Francisco, we had a hard fought battle between two tough, never say die teams. Gorgeous George fell to Danny Hodge in Match 1, a very classy show of respect after the match in the form of a handshake. Nothing like that in match two as Chris Hero would take down Steve Williams with the Emerald Elbow Pad. In Overtime, it would be Eddie Edwards coming off the bench to put away B. Brian Blair and putting OKC to 8-2.
Portland (8-2) @ San Diego (6-4) - The Lumberjacks hit up the San Diego Savages, who lived up to their name in one of the most brutal matches this week. Ox Baker would fall to Eddie Kingston's lariat in the opener. Jay Briscoe lost to Giant Baba in Fall 2. DDP got in the ring with Larry Hennig in overtime, and The Axe chopped down the master of the Diamond Cutter to give San Diego another major win.
Seattle (4-6) @ Orlando (10-0) - The Hurricanes will enter double digit wins, being the only team in the league to do so as their undefeated streak continues and they hosted a determined Seattle lineup. Ted DiBiase took out Jimmy Snuka in the opener with the Million Dollar Dream. The night would end shortly thereafter, as Kip James lost to Don Leo Jonathan.
Atlanta (5-5) @ Utah (4-6) - The ATL fought a tough Pioneers team, and came out on the losing end as Antonio Inoki pinned Roderick Strong in the opening match, and Curt Hennig lost to Jim Londos.
Phoenix (4-6) @ New Orleans (7-3) - Formerly one of the top teams in the West, Phoenix's losing streak grows to 6 as they battled the Destroyers at the Superdome. Rick Rude made short work of former teammate Nigel McGuinness, hitting the Rude Awakening. Chuck Taylor's Awful Waffle took down Bob Armstrong, bringing New Orleans to 7-3.
Tokyo (5-5) @ Chicago (7-3) - Rikidozan and company flew to Chicago for a huge away game with the Warriors, and came out at .500. Rikidozan's chops took down Road Warrior Animal in the opening bout. Bruiser Brody beat Jushin Liger in the second fall, and in the third fall, Davey Richards beat Delirious to give Tokyo another big win.
New Mexico (1-9) @ Detroit (7-3) - The Riot hosted a completely new Coyotes team, and they had a hell of a showdown. The opener was a tag match between King Kong Bundy and One Man Gang and Detroit's team of The Missing Link and Terry Gordy. One Man Gang's 747 Splash put The Link down, and nearly gave New Mexico the win. Chris Candido beat Jimmy Jacobs, and Sabu took down Erick Stevens to give Detroit win #7.
St. Louis (6-4) @ Montreal (2-8) - Rumored coach was not at Centre Bell to help the STL pick up another win, not that they needed him. Harley Race hit a big piledriver on Jim Duggan, and Bryan Danielson submitted Don Muraco to further plunge Montreal to the bottom of the East.
Mexico City (1-9) @ Houston (4-6) - Los Bandidos came to Houston hoping to get a second victory, and George Hackenschmidt sent them back with another loss. Mad Dog Vachon made short work of Konnan, and Hackenschmidt beat Mil Mascaras, giving Houston their fourth win.
Boston (4-6) @ Dallas (4-6) - Dallas had a hard week, but they fought through it and beat a tough Boston team. Tiger Mask returned to his former home in a losing effort against Brad Armstrong. Bobo Brazil fumbled a match against Antonio Rocca and just like that, Boston took another big loss.
Philadelphia (7-3) @ Columbus (2-8) - Essentially neighboring teams went to war at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, and Phildelphia shed the blood of the veteran team before winning the game. Ed Lewis beat Justin Credible in the opener, but Sandman quickly beat Larry Zybysko. In Overtime, Steve Corino's Old School Expulsion would put down Greg Valentine, and keep Philly near the top of the East.
LEAGUE STANDINGS: EASTERN CONFERENCE: Orlando (10-0) New York City (9-1) Oklahoma City (8-2) Chicago (7-3) New Orleans (7-3) Philadelphia (7-3) Detroit (7-3) St. Louis (6-4) Atlanta (5-5) Boston (4-6) Columbus (2-8) Montreal (2-8)

WWL TV Week 11 Recap:
Two of the superpowers in the East collide in the featured game of the week, plus a struggling San Francisco team sets out to dethrone Orlando. Do they succeed? Let's go to the recap.
Game of the Week: New York City (9-2) @ Oklahoma City (9-2) - The Titans' road trip continues through Oklahoma City where they ran into just a bit of trouble as OKC would deal them their second loss of the season. Nick Bockwinkel started against The Masked Superstar, winning the match with the Bockwinkel Sleeper. Match two would end the game as Steve Williams hit the Oklahoma Stampede on Dan Severn to give NYC it's biggest loss of the year so far.
Los Angeles (3-8) @ San Diego (7-4) - The San Diego Sports Arena were hot as their home town team took down a weakened LA lineup. RVD started in a losing effort against Eddie Kingston, falling to a lariat from the King of Diamonds. Larry Hennig beat Nikolai Volkoff to send LA home with their eighth loss.
San Francisco (3-8) @ Orlando (11-0) - Still the only team in the league with a double-digit W/L record, Orlando made quick work of San Francisco as Ted DiBiase beat Gorgeous George and Bobby Eaton beat Chris Hero to give Orlando their 11th straight victory going into next week's game against Oklahoma City.
Portland (8-3) @ Atlanta (6-5) - Portland came to Hotlanta with the intention of going up 9-2, but the Atlanta Fire torched the Lumberjacks in a 2-1 matchup. Match one saw Giant Baba take down Stan Lane. Matches two and three would close the gap for Atlanta, as in match two Curt Hennig beat Ox Baker, and The Destroyer beat DDP.
Seattle (4-7) @ New Orleans (8-3) - Rick Rude lead his New Orleans team into battle against Seattle who were looking to regain their momentum. That would not happen, as Rick Rude hit the Rude Awakening on Kip James, and Brodie Lee pulled out a huge upset against Jimmy Snuka to give New Orleans their 8th win of the season.
Utah (5-6) @ Chicago (7-4) - The Warriors hosted the Pioneers this week, and this one was brutal. Antonio Inoki squared off with Bruiser Brody in what might have been Overtime Match of the Year as they went to a draw, with the decision going to Utah. Match one saw Jim Londos beat Delirious, and Match Two saw Road Warrior Hawk pin Red Bastien.
Phoenix (4-7) @ Detroit (8-3) - The Riot have been on a major tear this season, and took on a Phoenix team facing a seven game losing streak. Johnny Valentine took on Sabu, who took down the legend with the Arabian Facebuster. Match two would put Phoenix at seven losses as Terry Gordy beat Nigel McGuinness.
Tokyo (6-5) @ Montreal (2-9) - The Centre Bell has been the sight of some of the most disappointing performances all season, and this was no different as Rikidozan and Jushin Liger took down the team of Don Muraco and Jim Duggan in matches one and two, giving Montreal their ninth straight win.
New Mexico (2-9) @ Houston (4-7) - The New look New Mexico went to Houston this week and did as much damage as you'd expect a team of this size to do. George Hackenschmidt started, defeating One Man Gang. It was all downhill from there for the Oilers, as Jack Swagger took down Mad Dog Vachon, and Erick Stevens took care of Jim Brunzell.
St. Louis (7-4) @ Dallas (4-7) - Harley Race and new coach Bill Watts charged into the Shooters' Arena in Dallas looking to climb back to the top of the East, and they took a big step towards that as Harley Race hit a piledriver on Angelo Mosca, and Bryan Danielson beat Brad Armstrong to give STL win #7.
Mexico City (1-10) @ Columbus (3-8) - Two of the most disappointing teams in the entire league clashed at Nationwide Arena, and Greg Valentine started in a winning effort against Konnan. Ed Lewis came off the bench to face Mil Mascaras, and won that encounter to give Columbus their third victory for the season.
Boston (4-7) @ Philadelphia (8-3) - The Revolution hosted the Stranglers at the Spectrum, and much to the chagrin of the Boston fans, this was not the big win they were hoping for. Bobo Brazil lost to Steve Corino to start the night off. Gran Akuma did beat the Sandman, and Chris Candido ultimately failed to beat Justin Credible.
LEAGUE STANDINGS: EASTERN CONFERENCE: Orlando (11-0) New York City (9-2) Oklahoma City (9-2) New Orleans (8-3) Philadelphia (8-3) Detroit (8-3) Chicago (7-4) St. Louis (7-4) Atlanta (6-5) Boston (4-7) Columbus (3-8) Montreal (2-9)
WESTERN CONFERENCE: Portland (8-3) San Diego (7-4) Tokyo (6-5) Utah (5-6) Seattle (4-7) Phoenix (4-7) Houston (4-7) Dallas (4-7) San Francisco (3-8) Los Angeles (3-8) New Mexico (2-9) Mexico City (1-10)

Yahoo! Sports: Several Last-Minute Trades Finalized:
-- NEW YORK: With the Trade Deadline at Week 13, teams all around the league scrambled to get their final lineups for the season ready to go, with the following trades being finalized:
Brutus Beefcake (NYC) for Ed Lewis (CBUS) The Masked Superstar (NYC) for Antonio Inoki (UTA) Brad Armstrong (DAL) for Delirious (CHI) Don Muraco (MON) for Nikolai Volkoff (LA) Stan Lane (ATL) for Tiger Mask (BOS) Larry Zybysko (CBUS) for Jim Duggan (MON)
These are likely the final trades of the season, and several of them are head-scratchers or eyebrow raisers. Time will tell to what extent the teams involve will be effected by the trades, but it seems that some of them will certainly benefit.

WWL TV Week 12 Recap:
The Game of the Season happens this week as the Oklahoma City Outlaws come to Orlando to try to put out the 11 game undefeated streak of Orlando, and Portland heads to Chicago for a battle of East vs. West superpowers.
San Diego (8-4) @ New York City (9-3) - Jesse Ventura tried out both of his new wrestlers this week, but to no avail as San Diego racked up yet another win over one of the league's top teams. Eddie Kingston dealt with Brent Albright, and Larry Hennig put down Antonio Inoki to give the Savages' momentum another big jolt.
Game of the Week: Oklahoma City (10-2) @ Orlando (11-1) - Ding-dong, the witch is dead! Jim Ross brought a very tough, physical match to Orlando this week, and the Outlaws took down the Hurricanes in one of the most exciting matches of the season. Match one saw Ted DiBiase beat Nick Bockwinkel in a close match with only a few seconds remaining. Match two saw the rookie Eddie Edwards defeat Bobby Eaton. In overtime, the two bulls went at it as Steve Williams defeated Don Leo Jonathan to give OKC its tenth straight victory, and Orlando its first loss of the season.
Los Angeles (3-9) @ Atlanta (7-5) - The acquisition of Don Muraco would be a non factor for the Express as Curt Hennig lead the Fire into battle this week. Hennig pinned RVD in the first match, and Tiger Mask would end up beating Don Muraco to give Atlanta another win.
San Francisco (3-9) @ New Orleans (9-3) - The Destroyers hosted an admittedly pathetic San Francisco team this week. Gorgeous George did not start, to the surprise of everyone else in the league. Rick Rude took care of Chris Hero with the Rude Awakening, and Mike Quackenbush beat Brian Blair to give New Orleans their ninth victory of the season.
Portland (9-3) @ Chicago (7-5) - Physicality was the theme of this match, as Giant Baba lead the Lumberjacks into the Warriors ring for a hard fought victory. Baba pinned Road Warrior Hawk with his Neckbreaker Drop. Match two saw Brad Armstrong pin DDP, and in overtime, Ox Baker beat Bruiser Brody to put Portland up 9-3.
Seattle (4-8) @ Detroit (9-3) - The Riot brutalized Seattle this week, ending both matches within only a few moves, and cementing their claim for a playoff spot. Sabu pinned Kip James easily, and Terry Gordy took down Jimmy Snuka with a powerbomb.
Utah (6-6) @ Montreal (2-10) - The Pioneers, with new captain Masked Superstars, came to Centre Bell where the welcome mat apparently says, "FREE WINS HERE!" Masked Superstar beat Larry Zybysko in match number one, and Jim Londos took down Nikolai Volkoff in match two.
Phoenix (4-8) @ Houston (5-7) - George Hackenschmidt beat Johnny Valentine to start this week off. It wouldn't be much longer before the game over screen came up for the Glory as Mad Dog Vachon beat Necro Butcher. Phoenix's losing streak grows to eight.
Tokyo (7-5) @ Dallas (4-8) - The Dragons took on the Shooters in a really close game this week. Rikidozan went right after Antonio Rocca and won with the thunderous chops. Match #2 saw Delirious beat Davey Richards, and in overtime, Frank Gotch beat Angelo Mosca to bring Tokyo to 7-5.
New Mexico (3-9) @ Columbus (3-9) - The new look Coyotes brought their win streak to two this week, as Jack Swagger dominated Brutus Beefcake, and the One Man Gang took out Greg Valentine to put New Mexico at 3-9.
St. Louis (7-5) @ Philadelphia (9-3) - Bill Watts proved to be a non factor this week as his team's technical ability was neutralized by a brawling team in the Revolution. Harley Race pinned The Sandman, but Bryan Danielson lost to Justin Credible to force overtime. Claudio Castagnoli did well against Steve Corino, but not well enough as the King of Old School won in clutch time to put his team up 9-3.
Mexico City (2-10) @ Boston (4-8) - Los Bandidos finally tasted victory again this season, winning at Boston Garden against a newcomer in Stan Lane, pinned by Mil Mascaras, and Gran Akuma, beaten by Konnan. The Bandidos have a long way to go if they want to crawl out of the bottom spot in the West.
LEAGUE STANDINGS: EASTERN CONFERENCE: Orlando (11-1) Oklahoma City (10-2) New York City (9-3) New Orleans (9-3) Philadelphia (9-3) Detroit (9-3) Chicago (7-5) St. Louis (7-5) Atlanta (7-5) Boston (4-8) Columbus (3-9) Montreal (2-10)
WESTERN CONFERENCE: Portland (9-3) San Diego (8-4) Tokyo (7-5) Utah (6-6) Houston (5-7) Seattle (4-8) Phoenix (4-8) Dallas (4-8) San Francisco (3-9) Los Angeles (3-9) New Mexico (3-9) Mexico City (2-10)

WWL TV Week 13 Recap:
After their first loss of the season, Orlando starts on a rough road trip as they take on the Titans in NYC in our Game of the Week. The two Superpowers of the South, New Orleans and Oklahoma City collide in their only meeting this season, and San Diego attempts to put out the Atlanta Fire. All coming up as we recap the thirteenth week of the WWL.
Game of the Week: Orlando (11-2) @ New York City (10-3) - Orlando takes their second loss of the season against a rebuilt NY Titans squad. Ted DiBiase would fall to Ed Lewis in the opening match. Jesse Ventura very boldly started Antonio Inoki, who defeated Don Leo Jonathan to put NYC at 10 wins, and Atlanta's losing streak to two.
San Diego (9-4) @ Atlanta (7-6) - The Savages took a trip to the Georgia Dome to face off against one of the most promising teams in the league in the Fire. Eddie Kingston put down Tiger Mask in the opening match. Match two saw The Destroyer defeat Larry Hennig. Overtime would be a tag match, and The Briscoes defeated Curt Hennig and Roderick Strong to give San Diego a huge victory.
Oklahoma City (11-2) @ New Orleans (9-4) - The Destroyers host Jim Ross' Outlaws in one of the most hotly anticipated and contested games of the season. Steve Williams opened against the big man, Brodie Lee in a winning effort with his Backdrop Driver. The second match would also go the way of OKC as Eddie Edwards defeated Mike Quackenbush. OKC's win streak grows to 11, and they've now tied Orlando for the longest winning streak of the season.
Los Angeles (3-10) @ Chicago (8-5) - The LA Express has had a pretty rough season, and coming to Chicago, they knew they'd have to work hard to win. Don Muraco lost to Brad Armstrong, and Bruiser Brody put down Rob Van Dam to give the Warriors another victory.
San Francisco (3-10) @ Detroit (10-3) - The Riot had a bumpy start to the season, but through trades and FA signings, they've easily become one of the biggest threats in the league. They would host the Lions, looking to get a victory, but they would be denied. Terry Gordy beat Gorgeous George in a massive upset, and in the second match, Sabu pinned Chris Hero to give the D their tenth win of the season.
Portland (10-3) @ Montreal (2-11) - Montreal has failed to gain momentum this season as their losing streak grows to 11 as they take on the biggest threat in the West, the Portland Lumberjacks. Ox Baker took care of Nikolai Volkoff, and Giant Baba hit the Neckbreaker Drop on Zybysko to give the Lumberjacks a double digit win record.
Seattle (5-8) @ Houston (5-8) - Two struggling teams in the West met in Houston looking to get something going. Kip James pinned Mad Dog Vachon to open things up. Houston wasted George Hackenschmidt on a relatively easy match with Ray Stevens. In overtime, Jimmy Snuka beat Jim Brunzell to give Seattle their fifth victory.
Utah (7-6) @ Dallas (4-9) - Dallas hosted a rejuvenated Pioneers team, and they didn't waste any time taking it to the Shooters. Jim Londos would gain the first victory of the game over Antonio Rocca. Red Bastien would lose a close match to Delirious, and in the end, Angelo Mosca failed to beat The Masked Superstar. Utah shows that they have some fight left in them as they break .500.
Phoenix (5-8) @ Columbus (3-10) - After eight long games of losing, Phoenix snaps the streak in Columbus. Johnny Valentine took down Greg Valentine in a great opening match. Brutus Beefcake wouldn't be much of a factor as Nigel McGuinness hit the Tower of London to break the slump for Phoenix.
Tokyo (8-5) @ Philadelphia (9-4) - The Dragons came to the Spectrum with a new lineup and a new coach in Kantaro Hoshino, and it paid dividends as Rikidozan's group took down the Revolution. Rikidozan pinned Steve Corino after the Thunderous Chops, and Davey Richards beat Justin Credible to give Tokyo win number 8.
New Mexico (4-9) @ Boston (4-9) - Gary Hart's new lineup once again scored a victory, as Jack Swagger lead the Coyotes to a big win over Boston. In the opener, Bobo Brazil took down Erick Stevens. It would be the only win the Stranglers would get, as Jack Swagger took down Gran Akuma, and the One Man Gang beat Stan Lane.
St. Louis (8-5) @ Mexico City (2-11) - The Bandidos hosted the Spirits at a white-hot Arena Mexico this week. Mil Mascaras got his biggest win of the season, pinning Harley Race with the Flying Bodypress. Match number two saw Konnan lose to Bryan Danielson. As we went to CLUTCH TIME, Claudio Castagnoli proved that you can't win against the Eastern teams if you're not at a high level by beating Dennis Condrey to end the week, and give STL its eighth win.
LEAGUE STANDINGS: EASTERN CONFERENCE: Orlando (11-2) Oklahoma City (11-2) New York City (10-3) Detroit (10-3) Philadelphia (9-4) New Orleans (9-4) Chicago (8-5) St. Louis (8-5) Atlanta (7-6) Boston (4-9) Columbus (3-10) Montreal (2-11)

WWL TV Week 14 Recap:
This week, we have not one, but two games worthy of the Game of the Week honor. Orlando heads to New Orleans to take on the Destroyers, and Oklahoma City faces off against the Detroit Riot. Week 14 Recap, up next.
Atlanta (7-7) @ New York City (11-3) - The Garden was electric as the Titans took on the Atlanta Fire in their final home game before they head to New Orleans. Curt Hennig started off, defeating Antonio Inoki with the Hennigplex. Match number two saw Brent Albright defeat Roderick Strong, and in the final match, Dan Severn beat The Destroyer. NYC is now at 11-3, next week they head to the Superdome.
Co-Game of the Week: Orlando (11-3) @ New Orleans (10-4) - Orlando's losing streak grows to three as they entered the Superdome to take on the Destroyers. Bobby Eaton opened up with a loss to Mike Quackenbush in a shocking upset. Orlando's night would get worse from there as Ted DiBiase would lose his match against Rick Rude. New Orleans enters double digits as the East keeps heating up.
San Diego (10-4) @ Chicago (8-6) - The Savages continue their roll against The Warriors in a down right physical game. Road Warrior Hawk fought Larry Hennig to a double count-out, emphatically putting pressure on his team to win the second match and overtime. Match two went to Chicago as Animal beat Jay Briscoe. In Overtime, Eddie Kingston beat Bruiser Brody to tie the game at 1-1-1. The judges ruled in favor of Kingston's dominant victory over Brody, giving San Diego a controversial win.
Co-Game of the Week: Oklahoma City (12-2) @ Detroit (10-4) - Oklahoma officially claims the record for the longest win streak in the league as their streak grew to 12 in Detroit. Terry Gordy pinned his old buddy Steve Williams in the opener with a powerbomb. Danny Hodge outperformed Sabu in the second match, winning easily and in overtime, Nick Bockwinkel took the match from Chris Candido, giving OKC Win #12.
Los Angeles (4-10) @ Montreal (2-12) - Montreal continue to be the most disappointing team in the East with another loss, this time to the struggling LA Express. RVD and Don Muraco took down Nikolai Volkoff and Larry Zybysko, both in convincing fashion. The Express are still fighting to be in the playoff hunt, while Montreal can hang it up for the season.
San Francisco (3-11) @ Houston (6-8) - Gorgeous George was out this week with a minor injury which forced a two match night. George Hackenschmidt made quick work of Brian Blair, and Chris Hero pinned Jim Brunzell. The judges went in favor of Houston, giving them their sixth win.
Portland (11-3) @ Dallas (4-10) - The Lumberjacks continue to prove that they're the most dominant team in the West with another big win over Dallas. Ox Baker gave Antonio Rocca a heart punch early in their match, resulting in a victory for him. Delirious would be victim #2, as Giant Baba put him away with the Neckbreaker Drop. Portland is now 11-3 with the best record in the West.
Seattle (6-8) @ Columbus (3-11) - Seattle came in with an easy task: Beat Columbus. And they did just that as Kip James pinned Brutus Beefcake with the Fame Ass Er in the opening match. Greg Valentine put up a fight against Jimmy Snuka, but once the Superfly took flight, it was all over for Columbus. Seattle moves up to 6-8.
Utah (8-6) @ Philadelphia (9-5) - The Pioneers rolled into Philly with the intent of showing that fighting dirty isn't needed to be a successful unit, and they proved their point. The Sandman fell to Jim Londos in Match One. Justin Credible shocked the league by beating Red Bastien, and in the main event, in crunch time, Steve Corino failed against The Masked Superstar.
Phoenix (5-9) @ Boston (5-9) - Stan Lane sealed the victory for Boston with a pin on Nigel McGuinness. Phoenix wrestled like the Phoenix of old, but it just didn't get the job done as Bobo Brazil hit the Coco Butt on Johnny Valentine, and that was it.
Mexico City (2-12) @ Tokyo (9-5) - The Dragons hosted Los Bandidos, and you can guess what happened from there. Mil Mascaras fell to Rikidozan's chops in the first match, and Jushin Liger dealt with Konnan as the Bandidos take another loss.
New Mexico (5-9) @ St. Louis (8-6) - Bill Watts' Spirits took on the rebuilt Coyotes, who continued their win streak here. Harley Race pinned Erick Stevens with that big Piledriver, but that was all STL had to claim this week. One Man Gang beat Claudio Castagnoli, and in overtime, Jack Swagger took care of Bryan Danielson as New Mexico went up to 5-9.
LEAGUE STANDINGS: EASTERN CONFERENCE: Oklahoma City (12-2) Orlando (11-3) New York City (11-3) Detroit (10-4) New Orleans (10-4) Philadelphia (9-5) Chicago (8-6) St. Louis (8-6) Atlanta (7-7) Boston (5-9) Columbus (3-11) Montreal (2-12)

WWL TV Week 15 Recap:
We near the halfway point as a bittersweet game between the Andre-less New Orleans Destroyers and the New York Titans is our game of the week.
Game of the Week: New York City (12-3) @ New Orleans (10-5) - The Titans came into New Orleans knowing they wouldn't have to deal with a rumbling giant, but they were given a hell of a fight from the Destroyers. Dan Severn submitted Rick Rude to open up the game. A super hot Superdome crowd backed Brodie Lee in a huge victory over Brent Albright. Overtime would see a tag match as the team of Antonio Inoki and Ed Lewis took down the team of Chuck Taylor and Mike Quackenbush. NYC up to 12 wins for the season, they meet again Week 36.
Atlanta (8-7) @ Chicago (8-7) - Two of the once top teams in the league hover around .500 as they go toe-to-toe this week. The Road Warriors opened the game with an impressive victory over Tiger Mask and Roderick Strong. Match two saw Curt Hennig beat Brad Armstrong, and in crunch time, The Destroyer would beat the big man Bruiser Brody.
Orlando (11-4) @ Detroit (12-3) - The Riot hosted a tough Orlando team this week, and it would be one of those nights for the Hurricanes as they could not stop the Riot. Don Leo Jonathan started tonight, narrowly beating The Missing Link. This would prove to be a bad omen, as Orlando lost their next two matches. Bobby Eaton to Sabu, and Ted DiBiase to Terry Gordy. Detroit takes win #12 on the year, and Orlando heads to Houston next week with a 4 game losing streak.
San Diego (11-4) @ Montreal (2-13) - Montreal have given up for the season, it seems. San Diego came in as the superpower of the West, and they took names as they humiliated the Quebeccers at home. Jacques Rougeau started against Eddie Kingston. King wasn't havin' it, and a lariat took down The Mountie. Match #2 saw Nikolai Volkoff's power neutralized by Larry Hennig, who hit The Axe and won the game for San Diego.
Oklahoma City (13-2) @ Houston (6-9) - Can anyone stop the Outlaws? Since they beat Orlando, it doesn't seem likely. They came to Houston with the intention of continuing their league record win streak, and they did just that. Danny Hodge got George Hackenschmidt in a thriller to open the game. Match two saw Mad Dog Vachon beat Austin Aries. Crunch time saw Jim Brunzell take on Steve Williams. You can guess what happened here, Doc Death lived up to his name as OKC reaches 13 wins, and doesn't seem like they're letting go of the top spot in the East any time soon.
Los Angeles (5-10) @ Dallas (4-11) - The Express finally pick up a win in Dallas as they took on the Shooters. Delirious failed to beat Don Muraco in the opener and RVD ended Match Two by hitting that Five Star Frog Splash on Antonio Rocca.
San Francisco (4-11) @ Columbus (3-12) - The Nationwide Arena was less than 25% full due to bad weather, and the Cardinals could have definitely used some crowd support as the Lions came to town and ran the show. Gorgeous George got the first win over Jim Duggan, and Chris Hero lived up to his "Young Knockout Kid" moniker, scoring the first ever knockout in the WWL on Brutus Beefcake.
Portland (12-3) @ Philadelphia (9-6) - The Spectrum was rockin' as the Lumberjacks rolled in to continue their Conference topping roll, and that's what they did. Steve Corino's Old School Expulsion put down DDP as Corino showed his former team that they might just have made a mistake in trading him. Turns out they didn't, as Ray Stevens beat The Sandman, and Giant Baba beat Justin Credible to put Portland at 12-3.
Seattle (7-8) @ Boston (5-10) - The Boston Garden was not amused at the performance of the Stranglers this week as the team's momentum just seems to start and stop. Kip James beat Bobo Brazil, who had a minor injury but continued to wrestle through it. Jimmy Snuka took flight against Stan Lane, and that was it for Boston.
Utah (9-6) @ Mexico City (2-13) - Mexico City would be doing great if you could just invert that Win-Loss record. The Pioneers went south of the border to face Los Bandidos, and you can guess what happened here. Mil Mascaras was unable to continue in a match against The Masked Superstar, giving Utah the first match. Match two saw Jim Londos take down Konnan, and Mexico City's playoff dreams went up in smoke. Well, they did a long time ago but you get the point.
Phoenix (5-10) @ St. Louis (9-6) - Phoenix looked so dominant 10 weeks ago, but since then they've lost 9 of those 10 games, and this was no difference. Bill Watts gets his first win as STL coach as Harley Race dumped Johnny Valentine on his head with the Piledriver, and Bryan Danielson submitted rival Nigel McGuinness with Cattle Mutilation.
Tokyo (9-6) @ New Mexico (6-9) - Experience vs. Youth this week, and youth won out. Rikidozan started against King Kong Bundy. He managed to chop down the monster and create the initial momentum for the Dragons, but One Man Gang pinned Jushin Liger, and Jack Swagger beat Davey Richards. New Mexico has won 5 straight with this new team, they're on a roll as they face Utah next week.
LEAGUE STANDINGS: EASTERN CONFERENCE: Oklahoma City (13-2) New York City (12-3) Orlando (11-4) Detroit (11-4) New Orleans (10-5) Philadelphia (9-6) St. Louis (9-6) Chicago (8-7) Atlanta (8-7) Boston (5-10) Columbus (3-12) Montreal (2-13)
WESTERN CONFERENCE: Portland (12-3) San Diego (11-4) Tokyo (9-6) Utah (9-6) Seattle (7-8) Houston (6-9) New Mexico (6-9) Phoenix (5-10) Los Angeles (5-10) Dallas (4-11) San Francisco (4-11) Mexico City (2-13)
