CTW was an offshoot of the Crosstime Challenge, which first debuted in September 2008 on another board and ran until February 2011. What made CTW different is that the wrestlers were brought in originally by The Dark Menace to do battle in an arena on the edge of time, fully aware of their past history and completely understanding of the fact that many are coming from different eras. Later the reigns were handed over to legendary GWF manager Solaris and the events moved to the Kronos Arena. Although this will be downplayed with the re-branding of the promotion, it does figure prominently into one of the main feuds.
What has gone before:
- Lou Thesz made a successful debut and was touted by Bill Apter in a post-match interview as perhaps the greatest world heavyweight champion of all time. That did not sit well with Nature Boy Buddy Rogers, who claimed that honor belongs to him. Complicating matters was the subsequent debut of Dick Hutton, who believes his name has been overshadowed in the annals of history and wants to prove he belongs listed amongst the elite. Eventually the debate was complicatred further with the sudden appearance of a group calling themselves "NWA Evolution" consisting of Chris Candido, Brent Albright, and Adam Pearce. They, all former NWA champions as well, claimed the other three were little more than "quaint nostalgia" and wanted to prove that they were far superior in every way. Apter noted that most fans did not take their version of the NWA title very seriously. The men vowed to gain respect by any means necessary.
Hutton and Rogers were set to square off one-on-one when Hutton made a pre-match appeal to Rogers to set aside differences and team up to quiet NWA Evolution. Rogers would have none of it and backjumped Hutton. Hutton was saved by Thesz who ran off The Nature Boy and accepted Hutton's offer to join forces. Thesz would go on to face Candido in the first match between the two factions. Thesz picked up the win but NWA Evolution jumped him after the match. Hutton came to the rescue, but the numbers were on the side of Evolution until ANOTHER former NWA champion, Dan "The Beast" Severn, evened the sides and helped fend off NWA Evolution.
- First CTW champion Frank Gotch made a triumphant return to CTW during the last Crosstime Challenge, winning back his championship and earning the trust and respect of the fans by vowing to do everything above board and mend his former underhanded ways. Rob Van Dam, on the other hand, lost the respect of the fans (and the title to Gotch) after he turned his back on his ECW team and made it clear he looks out for one man and one man only: Rob Van Dam. It remains to be seen if Van Dam will come looking for revenge or slink away into the night.
- Harley Race was looking to put himself in position to challenge Heritage Champion Bruiser Brody when he was derailed by an upset loss to newcomer Magnum TA. TA went on to get the title shot and came up short in a fantastic effort. Needless to say, Race will be looking to prove the loss was nothing but a fluke.
- The Sheepherders steamrolled through the Crosstime Challenge tag team division, going 5-0 and upsetting teams like the New Age Outlaws and former longtime champs the Kings Of Wrestling along the way. They also caught the eye of The Fabulous Kangaroos, who have come to the promotion looking to take the tag team championship from the Midnight Express. Words were exchanged between the teams and a brawl broke out. The grudge between Australia and New Zealand will be played out in the ring.
- Pepper Gomez has found an unlikely partner in Tiger Mask to help him with his ongoing problems with bitter rival Ray Stevens and Stevens' partner Nick Bockwinkel.
- The Masked Superstar debuted his big partner Masked Superstar II, but things did not go as planned when Superstar II was upset by Pepper Gomez. Superstar berrated and slapped the larger masked man and II did not take it well. A feud ensued and Superstar II ended up winning a loser leaves town match. In a subsequent interview with Bill Apter Superstar II said he never wanted to be the Masked Superstar, he always wanted to be an American hero and, to that end, he was turning over a new leaf and wanted to be known as CAPTAIN USA. His mission to combat the enemies of the USA hit a brick wall in the form of Fritz Von Goering and The Bolsheviks. Hillbilly Jim and Cousin Luke joined up to help the Captain and the battle continues. Von Goering has since left the promotion and new Russian manager Nikita Breznikov promises to debut a new man who will turn the tide in favor of the Russians.

History Unfolding show 1 Bill Apter welcomed Harley Race to the interview area to start the show. Race was furious about his loss to Magnum TA and said he wouldn't have blown the title shot like Magnum did had he been in the ring with Brody. Race said he'll get TA first then prove he's superior to Brody in every way. That last comment caught the attention of Bruiser Brody, who made his appearance and said if Race had something to prove then he didn't see any reason to wait. Brody said he was going to go find the commissioner right now and he and Race can get this done in the ring tonight. Race agreed and said he'd see Brody in the ring later and then Brody would see that Heritage belt around his waist for the last time. Ilio DiPaolo beat Mr. X in record time with an arm wringer toss and Airplane Spin.
Adrian Street defeated George South in commanding fashion with a Cobra Clutch. Following the match Street was interviewed by Apter and said he was back in CTW to bring some style and class to a promotion sorely lacking in both. He pointed to DiPaolo as a shining example of the lack of class and refinement here, saying he looks like an ape and likely smells about the same as well. Street put everyone in CTW on notice that he will settle for nothing but the best in his personal life and in the ring, and that means his outfit simply will not be complete without a gold championship belt around his waist. Jerry Lynn defeated Super Crazy in a 4-star match. These two pulled out all the stops in a fast-paced, high impact match. Crazy went for the Triple Moonsault, but Lynn raised his knees on the third one and Crazy was in trouble. With Crazy reeling on the apron Lynn went on to use a jarring sunset flip power bomb from the ring to the floor and followed with a top rope Huracanrana for a long two count. A Cradle Piledriver sealed the deal and gave Lynn the victory.Tiger Mask beat Ray Stevens when Bockwinkel's interference backfired. Stevens and Mask had a good bout, but Tiger Mask's speed was too much for Ray. Mask went for the pin after a twisting moonsault and Bockwinkel jumped in to try to break it up. He tried to drop a knee on Mask, but he moved and Nick hit Ray instead. A jumping spin kick got rid of Nick and Tiger Mask scored the pinfall win.Dan Severn defeated Brent Albright with a choke sleeper. Adam Pearce was in the corner of Albright and Hutton accompanied Severn to make sure no shenanigans would take place. Albright hit some good early offense, including an exploder suplex for a near fall, but Severn turned things around and locked in the choke sleeper out of nowhere to get the win. Buddy Rogers was seen looking on from the aisle during the match. The Fabulous Kangaroos won by disqualification over The Sheepherders. This was a strong match, as would be expected from these great teams. It broke down at the end when Luke Williams broke up a pin by Costello on Butch. Heffernan got involved and a brawl broke out with all four men in the ring. Red Berry jumped up on the apron and tossed his cane into the ring, but Butch intercepted. He used it on Costello and the referee was forced to disqualify the Sheepherders.Harley Race was introduced for the main event. As he waited for his opponent, Heritage Champ Bruiser Brody, a commotion broke out behind the entrance curtain. Brody came hurtling through the curtain, tossed out by Terry Bamm Bamm Gordy. Gordy and Brody brawled as referees and security tried to separate them. Finally order was restored and Gordy was forced to the back. Brody was cut, but refused to call off the match and insisted the referee call for the bell. Harley Race won a classic match over Bruiser Brody to win the Heritage Championship. This match had it all and was truly a classic. It looked like Brody was going to come back from his early disadvantage and score the win, but Race somehow managed to kick out of the pin after the Jumping Knee. Likewise, Race went on to hit the Piledriver but Brody kicked out at the last instant. The action went to the floor where Brody set up Race for a big boot against the steel ringpost. Race moved and Brody hit steel hard. Race got Brody back into the ring and applied the Indian Deathlock for the win.

I ran Crosstime Wrestling on the other board for almost two and a half years. That was "wide open" in that a lot of the conflict revolved around the fight to see which era was superior. With this I'm stripping it down and running it more like a traditional wrestling show. The underlying idea in my head is that this is taking place in the Champions Of The Galaxy universe on Kronos in simulated arenas, but you'll never see that portrayed in the write-ups and it won't be a theme. The only place where it's hinted is the war between the factions of NWA champions. Once that runs it's course it won't even be an issue.
Imagine the television shows looking like they take place in a bigger, more well lit version of the old studio wrestling shows (similar to the TNA Impact Zone in size but without the modern stage pieces), complete with hosts' set/ interview area.

History Unfolding show 2 Bill Apter welcomed Magnum TA to the interview area to start the show. Magnum noted how Harley Race was so mad about what he called an upset loss to Magnum at the start of the last show and said he couldn't wait to get revenge. But now that Race is Heritage champion, Magnum wonders how eager he'll be to try his luck again. Apter noted that Magnum has a tough match coming up with Boris Zuchov later. Magnum talked up the match with Zuchov and then said after that he'd be gunning for Race and that Heritage title. The Sheepherders (w/Jonathan Boyd) beat Les Thatcher and George South. Thatcher did his best to lead his team to victory, and they looked good for a while. However, the teamwork and brutality of the Sheepherders was too much for them and the Double Gutbuster on Les sealed the deal. During the bout new cornerman Boyd got in a flagpole shot on South when he was tossed from the ring, displaying a new dimension of danger in the Sheepherders reportoire.Following the match Butch Miller spoke and introduced their new cornerman Lord Jonathan Boyd. Boyd said his cousin Luke Williams made the call to him after last week to come in and neutralize Red Berry and that's just what he'll do. Boyd warned that if Berry sticks his nose or his cane into Sheepherder business again he'll lose both "straight where the sun don't shine". Dick Hutton (w/Severn) defeated Adam Pearce (w/Albright). Pearce tried his best against Hutton, but it wasn't good enough. Severn returned the favor from last week by watching Hutton's back and preventing Albright from interferring.Hutton scored the win with a side salto.Buddy Rogers was again seen watching the match from the aisle. After the bell he motioned for the members of NWA Evolution to come to him, said something, and they walked to the back together. Terry Gordy demolished Mr. X Gordy thrashed Mr. X, picking him up on two pin attempts before finally finishing it with a power bomb. After the match Gordy spoke with Apter about the attack on Brody last week. Gordy said if a big dog walks into the yard he doesn't make a name for himself by picking on a poodle, he takes down the biggest, meanest dog he can find and that's just what Gordy did with Brody. The interview was broken up by Bruiser Brody, who rushed out and attacked. The men fought all over the ringside area until security guards, referees, and wrestlers managed to pull them apart. Magnum TA pinned Boris Zuchov (w/Nikita Breznikov). Boris looked good in defeat, and Magnum took a beating for a good portion of the match. However, TA scored with a pair of dropkicks before rolling an abdominal stretch into a pinning combination to take the hard earned win.Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens were brought to the interview area. Apter spoke of the embarrassing turn of events in the end of last week's match between Stevens and Tiger Mask. Bockwinkel said Tiger Mask was trying to make them look foolish but he who laughs last laughs loudest and Bockwinkel and Stevens will be laughing very loudly when it's all said and done. Nick said he'd show up next week to face Pepper Gomez and then he wants Tiger Mask in the ring one on one to give him a lesson in respect. Nature Boy Buddy Rogers pinned Dan The Beast Severn with his feet on the ropes. Albright, Candido, and Pearce made their way to the ring during this hotly contested bout. Although they did not interfere it seemed to take Severn off his game and Rogers took him down for the pin, putting his feet on the middle rope for leverage as he did. After the match NWA Evolution entered the ring and shook hands with Rogers, signalling a new and potentially power-shifting alliance. Next Week: The Championship Edition -CTW champion Frank Gotch in a non-title match. -CTW tag team champs The Midnight Express in action. -Heritage champ Harley Race defends the title versus Jerry Lynn.

History Unfolding show 3 Bill Apter welcomed fans and announced that Bruiser Brody and Terry Gordy had been barred from appearing tonight due to actions last week, but they would face off against each other in next week's main event! CTW Heavyweight champion Frank Gotch was then brought to the interview area. Gotch talked about his upcoming non-title match with Ilio DiPaolo later in the night and then Apter asked him who he'd like to face at the upcoming super show at the Legendary Dome in three weeks' time. Gotch mentioned the names of men like Rogers and Thesz, and was interrupted by Rogers and NWA Evolution right on schedule. Rogers said he and Thesz don't even belong in the same sentence, much less the same ring. He told Gotch he was taking the young men of NWA Evolution under his wing to try to teach them a thing or two and help him "achieve greatness on the level of Buddy Rogers". Thesz then appeared with his partners Dan Severn and Dick Hutton. Thesz warned Rogers that his mouth was about to cash a check his body couldn't afford. Gotch took control of his interview time once again and told them both they needed to settle the score between them first and then he'd be glad to face the winner in the main event of the super card in three weeks. Thesz said it sounded like a great idea. Rogers, seemingly backed into a corner of sorts, agreed and said he needed another week to get ready and he'll meet him in the ring here in two weeks. Ivan Koloff (w/Nikita Breznikov) beat Hillbilly Jim after a big leg drop. The manager Breznikov proudly announced Ivan Koloff as the crown jewel of his Russian stable of athletes and promised he'd be the end of Captain USA. Hillbilly Jim tried to spoil Koloff's CTW debut, but it did not happen as the Russian fought hard and kept Jim down after an offensive flurry ended by a big leg drop across the throat for the pin.Jim Cornette introduced his tag team champions for the upcoming non-title match and went on a tirade about the lack of competition in CTW. He said they sent out an open challenge and no one but "these two guys nobody ever heard of" would come calling, and they look too stupid to know what they're getting themselves into or too dumb to care. The "two guys" in question were announced as Mark and Jay Briscoe and the match got underway. Mark and Jay Briscoe upset the Midnight Express in a non-title match. (!) Cornette and his men apparently took the Briscoe boys a little too lightly and paid the price. Things started well for the Express and they seemed to be toying with the competition. The bout heated up and the Express got into and out of trouble before using the ROCKET LAUNCHER on Mark. Jay made the save and rallied his brother to make the hot tag. A brawl broke out and the Briscoes took the advantage. Eaton got dumped out of the ring and the upset went down as Lane got pinned following the DOOMSDAY DEVICE.Nick Bockwinkel (w/Ray Stevens) defeated Pepper Gomez. There were lots of tense moments for Nick as Pepper Gomez fought hard to try to pull off the second upset of the show. Gomez actually dominated the action most of the bout until Nick blocked a monkey flip out of the corner and applied the Boston Crab for the submission.CTW champion Frank Gotch beat Ilio DiPaolo in a non-title match. DiPaolo fought hard and proved that he belonged in the ring with the champ. Adrian Street was in the commentary booth for the match, doing his best to underplay Ilio's offense and make comments about his appearance and lack of refinement. Ilio managed to get the Airplane Spin on Gotch, but the champ got his foot on the bottom rope to cause the break on the pin. Gotch fought back and won with a grinding hammerlock. The Kangaroos (w/Red Berry) beat The Sheepherders (w/Jonathan Boyd). This was another tag team war between the surprisingly evenly matched duos. Both cornermen got involved at different points in the match and ended up brawling at ringside. Berry's cane ended up in the ring once again and, as the ref, Miller, and Heffernan were distracted with the fight on the floor, Costello hit Luke with aforementioned cane to KO him and get the pin.An angry Boyd got in the ring after the match and challenged Berry to step in the ring beside his boys next week to face the Sheepherders and Boyd in a six-man tag. Jerry Lynn won by disqualification over Harley Race in a Heritage Title Match. Race was in control most of the match until a big comeback by Lynn. Race retreated from the ring after a near fall and Lynn gave chase. Race cut him off and ran him shoulder first into the steel corner post. Race did it again despite the ref's warning and got disqualified.Race, angered by the result, continued his assault after the bell until Magnum TA ran out to make the save and chase Race away.

History Unfolding show 4 Bill Apter welcomed everyone to the show and brought in Heritage Champion Harley Race. Apter asked about Race's title defense against Lynn last week and the outcome. Race said that was a lesson everyone needed to learn; messing with Harley Race gets people hurt. He told Apter Magnum must not have taken notes because he decided to get involved last week. Race warned that in two weeks at the Legendary Dome Magnum will take a final exam he will never forget. Captain USA defeated Larry Sharpe via BACKBREAKER. Sharpe fought hard but had trouble taking the Captain off of his feet. USA finally had enough and came back strong to finish with the submission win.Exotic Adrian Street mauled Johnny Rodz. Street tore into him at the bell and kept on going until the end. Rodz got in some minor offense, but Street was like a pit bull and got the win with the London Bridge.Ilio DiPaolo confronted Street at ringside after the bout. Ilio asked Street what his problem was with him, and Street told him. He informed Ilio that he was offended by the uncouth, unrefined, hairy, smelly brute who doesn't belong in the same ring with Adrian Street. DiPaolo issued a challenge for Street to meet him at the super show at the Legends Dome. Street said he doesn't answer challenges, he makes them, but he would be there and he would come with more than DiPaolo can imagine. Chris Candido (w/Tammy) defeated Les Thatcher. Tammy Sytch got involved to buy her man some time as Thatcher was on a roll, and may have been the difference in the victory. Candido ended up picking up the win with the Blonde Bomb. The Bolsheviks (w/Breznikov) beat The Hillbillies. This one didn't even have a chance to get going. Jim paired off with Boris and brawled all the way out to the floor as Nikolai and Luke went toe-to-toe. Nikolia blocked a slam attempt and countered with a throat drop on the ropes for the quick pin.Bill Apter was joined in the interview area by Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express. Cornette didn't even let him get a word in as he went off about the upset loss to the Briscoe Brothers last week. Cornette said they took the match out of pity and no one ever heard of Mark and Jay Briscoe, but now that they know who they are and just what levels they'll stoop to in order to defeat a better team like the Midnight Express they won't have the element of surprise on their side agian. Cornette warned that would be the end for the Briscoes next time they meet. He finished by saying Bobby and Stan would soften them up individually next week and then finish the job in a tag team title match the week after that and then the Briscoe Brothers can go back into obscurity once and for all. Lord Jonathan Boyd won by disqualification over Wild Red Berry. It was not hard to figure out how this was going to go. The two fought for a while, then the Kangaroos broke up a pin attempt. The Sheepherders got into the fray and a six-man brawl ended up spilling out of the ring and all the way to the locker rooms.Brent Albright and Adam Pearce (w/Buddy Rogers) beat Dan Severn and Dick Hutton. The Nature Boy's new charges fought a competitive match with the individually more skilled Hutton and Severn. The teamwork and underhanded tactics of NWA Evolution was enough to score them the win, as Albright pinned Hutton to make it a done deal.Following the bout Rogers beamed with pride and said next week it was Thesz' turn to fall in defeat and the week after that Rogers would go on to beat Gotch and become the new CTW champion. Bruiser Brody and Terry Gordy wrestled to a double countout. The monsters of the mat wasted no time tearing into each other. Gordy tried to get a quick win with a piledriver but Brody kicked out. Brody powered back into the match with a one-arm slam and the match went to the floor. Neither man would listen to the referee's warning and the bout resulted in a double countout.Next week: Buddy Rogers and Lou Thesz wrestle for the right to challenge CTW champion Frank Gotch at the super show at the Legendary Dome. Bobby Eaton vs. Mark Briscoe Stan Lane vs. Jay Briscoe Sabu vs. Super Crazy Jerry Lynn speaks to Bill Apter plus more.

Bill Apter welcomed Mark and Jay Briscoe to start the show. Mark said the Midnight Express are feeling silly after a pair of "nobodies" beat them a few weeks ago and they're looking to save face. He said they'll get their chance next week at the Legendary Dome but they've got a pair of warm-up matches tonight to serve as a reminder of what's in store and they're not going to like it. Jay finished by saying he was about to hit the ring against Stan Lane and next week we get to see if the Express and Jim Cornette are going to"man up!" Jay Briscoe defeated Sweet Stan Lane (w/Jim Cornette). This was a great opening match and a fantastic preview of what's to come next week in the big tag team title match. Cornette tried to save his man but Jay would not be distracted and scored the winning fall with the JAY DRILLER.Sabu pinned Super Crazy in a short but wild match. The two wild high flyers engaged in a hight impact bout that ended when Sabu tossed Super Crazy to the floor and followed up with a dive that caused enough damage to allow Sabu to toss his opponent back into the ring and get the pin.Apter did a quick rundown of matches scheduled for the Legendary Dome next week, including the Harley Race/Magnum TA Heritage title match and then welcomed Jerry Lynn to the interview area. Lynn told Apter that he heard what Race said last week and it sounded like the talk of a man full of excuses. Lynn contended that Race got himself disqualified because he knew Lynn was inches away from taking that Heritage title. He also noted that he heard Magnum TA and, although he respects Magnum and thanks him for stepping in to help him out a few weeks back, he thinks TA needs to get over the idea that he's the only dog in the race for that belt Race is wearing right now. Lynn threw out a challenge to the winner of next week's title match to come face him and prove who the better man really is. Beautiful Bobby Eaton (w/Cornette) won by disqualification over Mark Briscoe (w/Jay Briscoe). Yet another very good match between members of the two teams set to do battle for the belts next week. Bobby looked like he had the win with an ALABAMA JAM, but Mark managed to kick out. Briscoe used a CUT THROAT DRIVER later, but Bobby got his foot on the bottom rope to break the pin. The action spilled to the floor where Cornette tried to blind side Mark with the tennis racket. Jay ran over and grabbed the racket and swung at Cornette and Bobby when Bobby tried to come to his manager's aide. The ref called for the bell and Eaton and Cornette high-tailed it away from ringside as The Briscoes jumped back into the ring and held higher ground. The Briscoes have momentum on their side going into the title match.Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens beat Pepper Gomez and Tiger Mask. Nick and Ray jumped the opponents at the bell and Tiger Mask took a hard fall on the arena floor. Pepper rallied against Stevens and was completely outclassing his rival until Ray used a knee to the gut and made the tag out to Bockwinkel. Bockwinkel went over and popped Tiger Mask to knock him back down to the arena floor and went to work on Pepper. Gomez came back but was not able to make the tag and Nick took over once again. Bockwinkel slapped on the FIGURE FOUR and Pepper had no choice but to submit. Tiger Mask recovered and jumped in the ring to come to his partners side, but it was too late as Bockwinkel and Stevens rolled out of the ring and were declared the winnners.CTW champion Frank Gotch was introduced before the main event, number one contender's match. He took a seat at ringside and prepared to see who would face him next week for the CTW championship in the main event at the Legendary Dome. Buddy Rogers was introduced and went to the ring with members of NWA Evolution. He got in Gotch's face and Gotch told him if he wanted to prove himself he'd send his cronies to the back. Rogers refused but the referee stepped in and forced the issue. Rogers was livid as the Lou Thesz was introduced and stepped into the ring to get things started. Lou Thesz defeated Buddy Rogers via GRECO ROMAN BACKDROP to become the number one contender for the CTW championship. The classic match-up one would expect was exactly what was delivered by these two mega-stars. They exchanged holds early and Rogers took over with a cheap shot. An enraged Thesz revered Rogers in the corner and fired back. Rogers retreated from the ring and took a shot at Thesz as he tried to pull him back into the ring. Rogers got a near fall on a piledriver and Thesz rolled out of the ring. He turned the tables on Rogers with his own tactic and went on to get the winning pinfall.Following the bout Gotch approached Thesz and extended his hand. The men shook hands and wished each other luck for next week. Next week: Super Show at the Legendary DomeMain Event: CTW title match Frank Gotch vs. Lou Thesz CTW Tag Team Title Match Midnight Express vs. The Briscoe Brothers CTW Heritage Title Match Harley Race vs. Magnum TA Bruiser Brody vs. Terry Gordy Tiger Mask vs. Nick Bockwinkel challenge match Ilio DiPaolo vs. Adrian Street Captain USA vs. Ivan Koloff

Captain USA defeated Ivan Koloff (w/Nikita Breznikov). The Russian team still hasn't found the answer to beating Captain USA. Ivan Koloff had him in trouble for a while, but USA fought back and scored the winning pin on his first try with a double arm suplex.Ilio DiPaolo was introduced for his match with Adrian Street. Street made his way to the ring and said there had been a mistake and he had never personally agreed to wrestle DiPaolo. DiPaolo disputed that, but Street said Ilio could talk to Street's new bodyguard Ox Baker. With that said Ox jumped into the ring from the crowd and beat down DiPaolo from behind. Ox set up DiPaolo and floored him with a Heart Punch before referees could step in to stop the attack. Street, Miss Linda, and Ox took off and the match never got underway. Nick Bockwinkel won by countout over Tiger Mask. Bockwinkel tried to use his size to push Tiger Mask around early, but Mask countered with his stunning agility and got a quick two-count with a twisting moonsault. Nick capitalized on a missed dive from the ring to the floor by Tiger Mask and got him in the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER. Mask got to the ropes and Bockwinkel knocked him out of the ring and to the floor. There Nick used a bone-jarring suplex to incapacitate Tiger Mask and take the countout win.The Midnight Express (w/Jim Cornette) defeated Mark and Jay Briscoe to defend the tag team championship. The tag champs had to earn this win, as the Briscoes nearly pulled off the upset again. However, in the end it was a "double goozle" on Jay as the referee was busy getting Mark Brisoce out of the ring that spelled the end and allowed MX to defend the belts.Buddy Rogers and NWA Evolution (Candido, Albright, and Pearce) made their way to the ring. Rogers spoke for them and said CTW was afraid to put them on the big show because they don't want the so-called main event to get shown up. Rogers let everyone know that made them very unhappy and when Rogers gets unhappy people tend to get hurt. He finished up by saying it doesn't matter who wins the CTW title match tonight because Rogers and NWA Evolution will be waiting for them. Harley Race beat Magnum TA to defend the Heritage championship. Magnum came out strong at the bell and had Race in trouble early. The match settled down and went back and forth for a while before Race went to work on Magum's knee. Magnum managed to get to the ropes twice when Race locked in the Indian Deathlock, but the third time was the charm and Race took the win to defend the championship.Bruiser Brody pinned Terry Gordy in a wild match. This one lived up to the hype and the wild nature of their last meeting. Gordy and Brody traded heavy blows early and Gordy came out on top. Brody powered out of a pin attempt after a power bomb and the match went to the floor. Brody won the brawl outside and took it back to the ring and after some more brawling action got the win with the JUMPING KNEE DROP.Lou Thesz defeated Frank Gotch to win the CTW championship. A mat classic was expected and delivered. Thesz got on a roll and hit the THESZ PRESS, but Gotch kicked out. Thesz went right back to it and got another near fall. Undeterred he then hit the GRECO ROMAN BACKDROP but Gotch would STILL not stay down. In all Gotch managed to kick out of four Thesz Presses and one Greco Roman Backdrop and still fight back to nearly get the win with the rolling knee bar. It was time for Thesz to show his resiliance as he survived three Iowa backdrops and came back with an airplane spin and a second Greco Roman Backdrop to get the pin and become the new CTW champion.Following the bell NWA Evolution members Albright and Pearce ran down the aisle and attacked the weary Thesz. Gotch recovered and came to the aide of Thesz. Together they fought off the duo and sent them running back down the aisle. Gotch then stepped out of the ring and grabbed the CTW title belt. He stared down at the belt for a moment before getting back into the ring and handing it to Thesz. Gotch raised Thesz' arm, the men shook hands, and Gotch headed back down the aisle to allow Thesz his time in the spotlight as new CTW champion.

History Unfolding show 7 Bill Apter welcomed new CTW champion Lou Thesz to start the show. Lou accepted Apter's compliments and commented on how hard-fought the win was and how much respect he has for Gotch. Thesz asked Frank Gotch to come out to the interview area and he did. Thesz went out of his way to thank Gotch for helping him when "the pups" tried to act like wolves and jump him after the match and said that if the championship committe grants it he'd love to give Gotch a rematch sometime down the road. But first, he wants to ask Gotch to be his partner next week against Albright and Pearce. Gotch told Lou that men like Albright and Pearce are everything that is wrong with wrestling today, cheap shot artists who'd rather cause controversy than hone the skills to win, and it'd be his honor. The Bolsheviks (w/Breznikov) defeated The Hillbillies when Volkoff pinned Jim. Cousin Luke and Boris started the match and things progressed until Jim and Volkoff ended up in the ring to finish it. Boris and Volkoff used a bouble team clothesline to set up the Backbreaker Drop on Jim for the win.Jim Cornette and The Midnight Express entered the interview area. Cornette said some people had their doubts the Express would come out on top and those people were a bunch of fools. Cornette again stated that there's no team in CTW that can hold a candle to the Midnight Express and they may as well retire the belts because no team will ever beat them with the titles on the line. Wild Red Berry entered the scene to disagree. He said his Fabulous Kangaroos would beg to differ with Cornette's assesment and are very willing to prove it any time Cornette chooses. Cornette told Berry that the time he chooses is a week from never and led his men away. Dan Severn pinned Chris Candido (w/Rogers). Candido held his own against Severn, but a big German Suplex got the pin for "The Beast" in about ten minutes. After the bout Rogers was very upset with Candido and told him to watch the main event tonight and see how it's done, then do it or he is the one who'll be "done, as in 'done as part of NWA Evolution'".Les Thatcher pinned Johnny Rodz. Thatcher wasted little time dispatching Mr. Unpredictible, getting the pin with a flying head scissors in just over a minute. After the match Terry Gordy entered the ring and attacked Thatcher. He took him out hard with a piledriver, then turned and gave Rodz a power bomb for good measure. Gordy grabbed the mic and said that just because Bruiser Brody won one battle at the Legendary Dome doesn't mean the war is over. Gordy promised to be here next week and warned that if he and Brody cross paths it'll be mass destruction. Ilio DiPaolo won by disqualification over Ox Baker (w/Adrian Street). Ox and DiPaolo engaged in a hard hitting match. Ox had him in trouble but Ilio fought back and seemed on the verge of getting the pin when Adrian Street entered the ring and broke it up. Street and Ox pummeled Ilio, ending with a vicious Heart Punch by Ox. Street then pulled out the lipstick and smeared it all over Ilio's lips and face before giving him a well-placed boot to the jaw on the way out.Heritage champion Harley Race joined Apter in the interview area. Apter spoke of Race's win over Magnum then addressed the situation with Jerry Lynn. Race said Lynn talks tough for such a little man, but that may just be the brain damage Race gave him last time they met doing the speaking for him. Harley said he's never ducked a challenger in his life and in fact he'll defend the belt right here agaisnt Lynn next week. Race said for Jerry Lynn it'll be one of those cases of being careful what you wish for because when you get it you'll have no idea what hit you. Nick Bockwinkel pinned Tiger Mask with a piledriver. This rematch delivered all of the action of their previous bout and more. In the end there was no controversial ending, as Bockwinkel took advantage of a miscue by Tiger Mask and used the piledriver for the clean win.Nature Boy Buddy Rogers defeated Dick Hutton. A tremendous main event that could have gone either way saw Rogers gut it out and get the win with his version of the figure four. As the show went off the air Rogers was in the ring telling the camera that he was the number one contender and the uncrowned heavyweight champion of the world.

History Unfolding show 8 Bill Apter did the show intro and welcomed Adrian Street w/Miss Linda and Ox Baker to the interview area. Apter talked about what Street did to DiPaolo last week and Street told Apter that he did Ilio a favor by improving his looks but he could do nothing about the hairy ape's hygene. Street said he can't understand why Ilio can't see that he's only trying to help him. Street finished by telling Apter he'd be here next week and he hopes Ilio has the guts to show up so he can continue the beautification process. Mark and Jay Briscoe defeated Mr. X and Larry Sharpe. The standard highlight match for the Briscoes saw Jay pick up the pin on Sharpe after the Spike Jay Driller.Following the match The Briscoes spoke with Bill Apter. Mark said they came within inches of winning the tag team championship on their first try and got a lot of people's attention. Jay said they're not the types to give up after just one try and they'll try and try again until those tag team title belts are around their waists. In the ring Lord Jonathan Boyd grabbed the mic for pre-match comments. He warned that Red Berry was awful confident last week but he forgot that his issue with the Sheepherders is long from over as far as their concerned. Boyd called out the Kangaroos and Berry for their match so the Sheepherders could stuff Berry in Al Costello's pouch and Costello in Heffernan's pouch and then flush the whole bloody mess down the commode where they belong. The Sheepherders and Boyd won by disqualification over The Fabulous Kangaroos and Wild Red Berry. The wild action between these two teams continued as the action-packed match ended with all six men brawling on the arena floor. Berry's cane came into play again, but this time the ref saw it and disqualified the Kangaroos. clearly nothing is settled here.Terry Gordy defeated Les Thatcher via a power bomb. Les came out quick, trying for revenge from last week. However Gordy blocked a monkey flip and used a Bamm Bamm Slamm and a power bomb for the easy win. After the bell Gordy went for one more power bomb when Bruiser Brody came out to stop him. Mayhem ensued again as the men brawled all over the ringside area. Security stepped in to get Gordy out of there, but Ivan Koloff took advantage of the situation and jumped Brody before their scheduled match. he tossed Brody in the ring and things got underway. Bruiser Brody defeated Ivan Koloff with a Jumping Knee Drop. This was a really good brawling, hard-hitting match. Koloff nearly got the win when he moved as Brody charged the buckle and covered for a long two count. Brody fought back and ended up using his patented knee drop for the win.To the surprise of no one, Terry Gordy raced out once again and attacked Brody after the bell. This time the police got involved and, under the orders of a CTW official, handcuffed both men and took them out of the arena through seperate doors. Sabu defeated George South via Camel Clutch. Sabu picked up the easy win over South after showcasing some of his impressive offensive manuvers.Harley Race defeated Jerry Lynn to defend the Heritage championship. This was a really great match. Lynn came within inches of winning on two occassions, once on a reveral out of the corner and once with a big German Suplex that came as close as possible without getting the win. In the end Race scored the victory after wearing Lynn down with the Indian Deathlock and using the piledriver for the pin.Buddy Rogers appeared in the interview area before the main event. He touted his win over Hutton last week and said he may not agree with Hutton in matters outside of the ring, but he sure knew he was in a fight with a great former NWA champion. He then said it was curious that the current champ Thesz asked Frank Gotch to be his partner tonight instead of a supposed teammate and friend in Dick Hutton. Rogers speculated that Thesz was only keeping Hutton on his side to keep him away from the title and, that being the case, he'd have to give credit to Thesz for being a man after his own heart. Rogers finished by noting that a man like Hutton would make a great addition to any team and then left to head to ringside to coach his pupils in their big main event. Lou Thesz and Frank Gotch defeated Adam Pearce and Brent Albright. Pearce and Albright had a lot to prove and did so by hanging with the champ and the former champ for about twelve minutes. Pearce even almost pinned Gotch after his Jumping Piledriver, but in the end it was Thesz making Pearce give up to the STF that sealed the win for the champ's team. After the bell Thesz challenged Rogers to get in the ring, but The Nature Boy simply told Lou they'd meet on Rogers' terms and not Thesz' and ordered his men to pick themselves up off the mat and head to the back.

History Unfolding show 9 Bill Apter opened the show with Buddy Rogers. Rogers said he'd be watching his protege Chris Candido tonight and it's feast or famine for him because if he can't win he'll be out a job. Then Rogers said he still hasn't heard from Lou Thesz about putting that belt on the line. Apter said there would be a major announcement later in the show about a title match scheduled for next week. Rogers smiled broadly and said the matchmakers in CTW must have finally wised up and decided to give ROgers what he deserves. Apter remained skeptical at Rogers' claim to the number one contender slot but Rogers brushed him off and walked away. Ox Baker demolished Mr.X. Baker took apart the masked journeyman and won with the HEART PUNCH in less than a minute. Mr. X had to be carted away on a stretcher.Following the match Ox Baker and Adrian Street with Miss Linda were interviewed by Apter. Street said that kind of result is the reason he went out and hired Ox to watch his back, then noted that he was here but Ilio hasn't shown his face. Apter said Ilio was still hurt from the brutal and humiliating attack from two weeks ago, but he has promised he will be back next week and he would surely be seeking revenge. Street was not scared and said his total focus was on tonight and humbling Dan Severn. Apter assured Street it wouldn't be that easy and Ox interjected by saying he was sure it WOULD be, raising his fist and laughing as he made that statement. Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens beat George South and Frankie Williams. Nick and Ray took apart South and never let Williams get in the ring. Nick got the pin for his team.Following the bout Nick Bockwinkel spoke. He said Tiger Mask had run back to Japan with his tail between his legs after losing to him and now there's no one to protect Pepper Gomez any more. Nick said the day of reckoning for Pepper comes next week and after Ray Stevens shows why he earned the name "Crippler" it's on to bigger and better things for Bockwinkel and Stevens. Exotic Adrian Street (w/Linda and Ox Baker) defeated Dan Severn. Street did just what he said he would, and pinned Severn in convincing fashion. Baker got a few jabs in from ringside for effect, but Street needed no help in picking up the win. The Crucifix proved inescapable for Severn and Street remains unbeaten.Bill Apter had two big announcements. First, the CTW commissioner has decided that Bruiser Brody and Terry Gordy must settle their differences and must keep the action in the ring for the safety of the fans and the wrestlers both. To that end he has scheduled a lumberjack match pitting Brody versus Gordy for next week. Furthermore, the CTW championship will be on the line as Lou Thesz will be challenged by a man who has quietly put together an impressive winning streak in recent months, Captain USA. The Captain came out to speak and was very humble. He said he has beaten every enemy of the USA that has been thrown at him and if that earned him a title match he would be happy to test his skills against a former enlisted man and American hero Lou Thesz. Lord Jonathan Boyd had heard enough and the mouth that won't shut up came out to get in the face of the big man. Boyd said the Captain didn't deserve a title shot and he'd prove it in the ring right now. Body slapped the Captain in the face and headed to the ring. Captain USA apologized to Apter for having to cut the interview short, but said he had a challenge to go answer. Lord Jonathan Boyd pinned Captain USA after a piledriver. That did not go as planned. Boyd attacked at the bell, but Captain shrugged it off and delivered some heavy blows and a series of shoulders in the corner. Boyd got in a cheap shot off the ropes and pulled out a foreign object that knocked Captain silly. He then used a piledriver and got the surprise win. After the match Boyd grabbed the mic and said that as fas as he's concerned the title match had just been changed and if Thesz has any guts he'll be there next week to lose the CTW championship to Lord Jonathan Boyd, the pride of New Zealand. Chris Candido (w/Tammy) beat Magnum TA. These two wrestled a great match. Magnum took over late and hit the belly to belly suplex, but Tammy got up on the ring apron to distract before TA could go for the pin. That gave Candido a chance to recover and he floored Magnum then delivered a big diving head butt to get the pin.NWA Evolution members Brent Albright and Adam Pearce hit the ring to congratulate Candido on keeping his spot on the team but he blew them off and left with Tammy, leaving them confused and the fans with questions (to be answered next week). commentary: The dice decided Captain USA did not deserve a title shot, apparently. Or else the ghost of Lord Jonathan Boyd is watching out for his LOW counterpart. Either way, I can't go through with the match I had scheduled so I literally came up with the idea of Boyd changing the match on his own as I saw the dreaded "snake eyes" on the pin attempt. We've probably seen the last of the Captain as he and his feud with the Russians wasn't clicking for me anyway. I didn't expect Candido to get the win either, to be honest. That won't change plans much in the long run, though. In fact it actually gave me a better idea. Next week I start cycling in some different guys and moving out those who aren't doing much for me. Expect a little turnover that way on the low-to-middle part of the roster about every two months to keep things fresh.

show 10 The show opened with Bill Apter welcoming Chris Candido to the show. Before Candido could speak Buddy Rogers entered the scene to confront him. Candido said he saw through Rogers and his NWA Evolution scam and he won't play anyone's lackey. He said he didn't need to prove himself to Rogers or anyone else. Albright and Pearce showed up to surround Candido and things looked bad until Frank Gotch came to his side. Gotch said Candido proved he has a brain in his head, but he's not so sure the other two have a clue. Gotch said he'll find out later tonight because he's issuing an open challenge to any Rogers, Albright, or Pearce for later tonight and it'll be interesting to see which one shows up in the ring. Gotch concluded by saying he'd love to test Rogers claim to the number one contender spot, but he doubts it'll play out that way. The Headshrinkers defeated The High Flyers in this dual debut match. This was a good, competitive match from start to finish. It looked like the High Flyers had it won but Alofo broke up a pin attempt by Brunzell after the High Flyin Dropkick. Gagne got in and it ended up being Alofa who got the pin on Gagne after a double team while Samu kept Brunzell out of the ring.Ilio DiPaolo hit the ring following the bout and said he didn't want to wait any longer for revenge on Ox Baker and Adrian Street. DiPaolo said they tried to hurt his pride but instead he will hurt their bodies and send them both on their way out of CTW. Street and Baker showed up at ringside. Street gave Ox his instructions and sent him into battle before making his exit from the arena. Ilio DiPaolo pinned Ox Baker in a wild match. DiPaolo ended the slugfest by coming out on top, getting the pin after the Airplane Spin. Ilio tried to call out Street after the match but he did not appear. The Bolsheviks (w/Breznikov) beat Mark and Jay Briscoe. The manager made the difference for Boris and Nikolai. He saved them by distracting the ref after a Spike Jay Driller on Boris and eneded up getting his team the win as Boris went on to pin Jay after the Soviet Slam.Lord Jonathan Boyd went to the ring and crowed about how he would win the CTW championship and shock the world and next week his Sheepherders would beat The Kangaroos in a 2 out of 3 falls match to settle their feud and get the next tag team championship match. Then New Zealand would be the championship capitol of the world. Lou Thesz beat Lord Jonathan Boyd to defend the CTW championship. Boyd was a stiff challenger and caught many by surprise with his potent offense, but he did not have enough to topple Thesz. Lou got the win with the Greco Roman Backdrop.Frank Gotch beat Adam Pearce (w/Rogers). Rogers went to the ring with Pearce and made a show of getting into the ring to face Gotch before sending Pearce into battle instead. Pearce put up a good fight but Gotch slapped on the Gotch Toehold and won by submission. Gotch held the hold a little after the bell and challenged Rogers to come in and break it up, but Rogers would not budge.Bill Apter welcomed the newest member of the CTW roster The Crusher. Crusher amused with one of his typcial Milwaukee stories before threatening any "turkey neck" in CTW to come get in his way to the championship. Pepper Gomez won by disqualification over Ray Stevens (w/Bockwinkel). Pepper was about to pick up the win with the Mexican Cradle when Bockwinkel ran in and broke it up. Bockwinkel and Stevens began beating and stomping Gomez until The Crusher ran in and chased them away.Terry Gordy beat Bruiser Brody in a lumberjack match. The brawl between the heated enemies ended when Gordy tossed Brody out of the ring and into "enemy territory". The Russian trio of Zuckov, Volkoff, and Ivan Koloff began putting the boots to Brody until Magnum TA and the Briscoe brothers rushed over to fight with the Russians. While the ref was distracted Harley Race ran out and tossed a pair of brass knucks to Gordy. When Brody got back in the ring he got blasted by Gordy and fell victim to the pin.

show 11 quick results ("the lost show"; apparently forgot to post and detailed write-up is missing) Hillbilly Jim and Cousin Luke beat Johnny Rodz and Larry Sharpe. Bill Apter called the Hillbillies over to the interview area following the match to address the rumor that their friend Captain USA had left CTW. Hillbilly Jim verified that it was true, saying that when Boyd humiliated him like he did in that interview, then pulled the foreign object in their match to get the cheap win, it was like it destroyed the big man's spirit. Jim vowed to get even with Boyd for that and if that means tangling with the other two Sheepherders too, then so be it. The Crusher defeated Mr. X with ease, winning with a stomach claw. After the match Crusher spoke at ringside. He said he'd dealt with "turkey necks" like Bockwinkel and Stevens before and he'll be happy to partner up with Pepper Gomez next week to deal with them again. He finished by saying that when he handles problems they know they've been handled and Bockwinkel and Stevens will know when they count the knots on their heads just how handled they've been. The High Flyers defeated The Headshrinkers in a rematch from last week when Brunzell pinned Alofa following a HIGH FLYING DROPKICK. Bill Apter welcomed Heritage Champion Harley Race to the interview area. Apter asked Race to explain his actions of last week, when he interferred and helped Terry Gordy defeat Bruiser Brody in the lumberjack match. Race said he's the type of man who likes to repay a favor. Race reminded Apter that Gordy softened Brody up before their Heritage title match and he's man enough to admit that it made his championship win that much easier (although, he added, the win was never in any doubt). Race concluded by saying that a champion makes a lot of enemies and a man like Terry Gordy is a powerful ally to have. Race exited the area and Apter wondered if Race had just added fuel to the fire of Bruiser Brody and if that move would ultimately come back to haunt him. Chris Candido (w/Tammy) defeated Brent Albright (w/Pearce) following the Blonde Bomb. Magnum TA won by disqualification over Ivan Koloff when Nikita Breznikov interferred to break the pin after the belly to belly suplex. Following the decision Magnum gave Nikita the belly to belly for good measure and left in disgust. Jim Cornette came out with his Midnight Express and spoke to Apter before the main event. He said that the championship committee "in their infinite wisdom" has decided that whichever team wins tonight gets a tag team title match next week. He reminded everyone that this is the same championship committee that thought the Briscoe boys deserved a shot too, so there apparently is a rigorous screening process consisting of "rock, paper, scissors" to decide who gets championship matches. Cornette said it doesn't matter who it is, the results will be the same anyway. Apter asked Cornette about the run-in with Wild Red Berry several weeks ago (show seven) and said it sounded like Cornette was ducking the Fabulous Kangaroos. Eaton and Lane crowded Apter after he said that and Cornette told him the interview was over, motioning his men to follow him back to the locker rooms. The Fabulous Kangaroos defeated The Sheepherders 2 falls to none to win the match and be deemed the number one contenders to the tag team championship. fall one: wild, lots of brawling, Sheepherders disqualified on the floor. fall two: Boomerang on Luke gives Heffernan the winning fall.
