I've talked with a few friends and have seen the same comments that the SBG broadcast production is worse then the HDNet broadcast production. If that's the case, thats a horrible thing but I guess when your a indy fed with less money backing you, you take what you get... The HDNet show wasn't produced badly at all outside of the fact you couldn't really hear the crowd. The only thing wrong with the production of the SBG ROH shows (this is going off of a whopping one episode) is the lighting which could be easily fixed. I mean if the problem persists at the second taping (lord knows they had this problem for the first one) then I think we're going to have a serious problem.

Yeah the lighting really played havoc with the picture quality and if I recall Episode 2 was filmed the same night as Episode 1. I believe that if they only show Two matches per-show, that those matches were from the same night, which I've said is not a good thing to record so far out...

Yeah, they taped the first four episodes in the same night. I think if enough fans bring it up to them they might change the lighting setup, or not. I don't know but it needs to be fixed.

They're back on schedule here (4AM Saturday) so I just got done watching the second episode. This was another solid effort. They continue to do a nice job introducing new fans to the personalities and the general tone of ROH. Bennett and Jacobs had a decent match. I think Bennett has a lot of potential but he's still just average in the ring. Brutal Bob Evans needs to quit messing with that cigar every five seconds but I like the character. I hate to write it, but Jacobs is just kind of "there" now. Leathal and Generico had a nice match. Some will call it excellent, I'll say it was very good.
To me this is what a modern wrestling show (not sports entertainment) should be like. They're not trying to be WWE-lite like TNA has fallen into doing and they're not trying to necessarily reinvent the wheel, either. It's what works and what has always worked about wrestling done in a modern way. Furthermore, they may now have the best commentary team of any national wrestling or sports entertainment show. I'll take Nigel on commentary over Booker, Lawler, or Taz any day.

I thought the show was kind of tedious. Futureshock vs. Bravados was a really poor choice to start with. I also don't understand why they aren't producing this like the HDNet show. That show looked fucking great and like it was a big league show. This looked third rate.
The online streaming quality is also unacceptable.

I agree that it's amazing on how they went from the quality of HDNET production to this third rate production on Sinclair. I doubt I'll be giving ROH much of a chance, I like the concept but if they don't improve it's production it's not worth it...

I read the spoilers for the next set of shows. Looks like they're sticking to 2-3 matches a week and some of the shows look really weak inring. I really don't know what they're thinking with this show. It looks like they taped like 5 episodes in the Davis Arena again. I'm sorry but the Davis Arena is not the place to go to make your product look like a big deal.

I started watching that this weekend and it's a lot of fun.

Caught the tail end of the show, with Jay Lethal and El Generico. Not flashy like WWE but it reminds me of the way the old ECW Hardcore TV used to look. So I am cool with that.

I think it's kind of poor booking to do the "5 more minutes" thing on your first television title defense. Why have the gimmick if you go away from that the first time it's on tv? Is it going to make sense the next time they do a time limit draw with the belt? It worked for Jay Lethal and the precedent is set... everyone might as well demand it!

I kind of feel like the RoH show has some fundamental flaws that won't let it pull the kind of numbers it would need to survive. The production is bad, the angles really seem to be lacking, they aren't doing a good job of getting the roster on tv, etc. I kind of wonder how long this will go before we see a major shake-up in the booking staff and filming crew.

I watched the first show over the weekend.... eh. I agree Future Shock Vs. the Bravados was a poor choice for an opener.... all 4 guys scream 'generic indy wrestler #425'... it was a decent match, but very eh.
The did a good job with the promo packages and highlighting the last PPV, but I was left to think 'where are all these great wrestlers?
The ME was good, though again, why the KoW? Isn't Claudio gone? Why not sub in a talent still on the roster if it was filmed before he left.
I agree the production quality wasn't great.. far inferior to NWA Hollywood (which I really need to watch more of) The sound was all over the place, and it seemed very dark in the arena. Hopefully that will improve with the next batch of shows.
I'll try to check this one too once it's available on Thursday, but I'm not waiting with baited breath or anything.

KOW/WGTT was announced before KOW going to WWE hit the dirt sheets, that's why they got the title shot.

I think I would've gone more like this for the match structure:
Eddie Edwards d. jobber Homicide d. Grizzly Redwood WGTT vs. KOW
I would've run an angle for Lethal/Generico in some fashion.
I would've kept the Richards promo and some of the highlights of him winning the belt. I would've then run an angle to maybe set up his next challenger. Maybe have Homicide and Edwards both cut promos after their matches talking about how they want the belt.
Less Nigel McGuinness.
