Apparently they did a few more squash matches on the second taping. Personally I'm more concerned with them fixing the lighting setup.

You have to get your roster on tv though. Guys wrestling once every month or two isn't going to cut it. At the rate they're going it's going to take months for them to get people familiar with the roster. I mean, with that taping they're 2 months in and guys like Grizzly haven't even appeared yet.

I have to agree the Lighting needs fixing which is a major part of productions issues with these tapings. Speaking of tapings, ROH broadcasting these matches that are months past is honestly a bad thing. Example is KOW are no longer there and I know atleast one other wrestler I recall is no longer in ROH who I'm sure has a upcoming match. I guess we are looking for a far better product thats not present in ROH that was during it's HDNET run, but if they don't fix their issues we'll see ROH off of Sinclair in the future...

To add to this: Doing squashes with OVW talent instead of the ROH guys just because you're in Louisville isn't going to help this problem. ROH broadcasting these matches that are months past is honestly a bad thing. Example is KOW are no longer there and I know atleast one other wrestler I recall is no longer in ROH who I'm sure has a upcoming match. The KOW thing was out of their control. They couldn't bump the start date of the TV up, at least I'm sure of it and the complaint about airing matches that are months past and then praising the HDNet show is hilarious because they'd tape months of stuff at a time for HDNet. I guess we are looking for a far better product thats not present in ROH that was during it's HDNET run, but if they don't fix their issues we'll see ROH off of Sinclair in the future... The only difference in the HDNet and SBG shows is the lighting and commentary. The wrestling and segments (the Inside ROH videos, Best in the World recap, etc) are done exactly the same as the HDNet show.

Pfft. As long as the lighting is better than Hardcore Heaven 97 then it's fine by me.
(Afterwards, while shilling a Hardcore Heaven poster on Hardcore TV, Joey Styles would say "The lighting on the poster is better than the lighting on the Pay Per View!")

I never knew the HDNET broadcasts were also taped far in advance because I didnt follow the fed that much, plus I've only heard that HDNET was better produced because HDNET handled the production of the show...

Maybe less, I remember the stuff they'd tape in June would last them through like October or November once the stuff from March was done airing. plus I've only heard that HDNET was better produced because HDNET handled the production of the show... Yeah, they did. They had the HDNet cameras and I think a studio HDNet put together for them to do promos/shots of the commentators. I think the graphics they have now look cooler than the HDNet ones, though.

I agree with less Nigel... I like him, and he did a pretty good job, but he didn't need his own entrance.

Finished getting paid to watch this a few hours ago. Well, it was on while I was at work, so I didn't technically get paid to watch ROH but I did get paid while watching the show. I still think this looks more like a "wrestling" show than anything on the air right now. I like the darker, grittier production. It gives the show a distinct look instead of just doing a low-budget version of WWE (see TNA). I read some people here saying their TV couldn't handle it but it looks fine where I'm watchin. The camera work could use to tighten up a little; a few big moves were missed in both matches while the camera was on the managers.
About the matches: I'm not a fan of Andy Ridge's work. I'll say he's not a master at the art of selling (and this is a massive understatement). Anyone who watches the end sequence of his match with Ciampa will know what I mean. I don't get Tomasso getting put over as an undefeated big deal. He just kind of comes off as another wrestler to me, but I guess they have to work with what they've got. His little tiny trunks are also disturbing.
Tale of the tape had Richards listed at 5'9" next to Strong's 5'10". Then they stood face to face at the beginning of the match immediately after that graphic was shown and blew the credibility of that little factoid as Strong looked about three inches taller. Not a shock or revelation, I just thought it was amusing. They beat the crap out of each other, did what they do, and had a good match (again, no revelation, more stating the obvious). People who like Richards' style will get off on this match, the critics will have plenty of ammo.
Again, I thought it was a solid show. I don't know how much my opinion is colored by this being the only national wrestling show that actually focuses on wrestling, but I'm enjoying it.

I thought like TNA back in October of 2005 Ring of Honor would be that wrestling product that would draw me back in and so far it's a failure. It's cool that your enjoying it Mark T, but I honestly find it boring and I'm not sure I'll tune in any time soon and with LLUSA back on which I do like, I'll be watching that instead...

Friend told me that I'd like Richards/Roddy, turns out he was wrong. It was a good match but he was saying I'd think it was match of the year. Didn't turn out like that. Honestly, this is only slightly above the first episode when it comes to the best of the three. Next week should be good with Edwards/Elgin and ANX/Briscoes.

ROH is coming to Spartanburg (about 30-40 minute drive) on December 3rd. Going to have to seriously consider this show! They're gonna be in Dayton on November 18th and there's a meet and greet before the show. $15 for GA seats is worth it if I get to meet Eddie Edwards, not to mention the show is Survival of the Fittest.
