No one had any comments on last week's show?
Anyway, this one was probably the best yet. There were two very solid tag team matches (although Bucks and Bravados had the obligatory Bucks "complex choreographed looking spot" thrown in) and a nice video package getting people up to speed on the Kevin Steen saga. Of course the World's Greatest Tag Team got their obligatory interview time yet again. Young Bucks new gimmick being the guys who won't shake hands in the company known for the "code of honor" handshake works out pretty well. The main event between the American Wolves and Elgin and Strong was pretty great, IMO.
I'd go out of my way to see this one again (which I will be able to do at 11PM tonight)

Last week was really unremarkable to me. I didn't care for the episode. This week's episode looks real good though.

The only match that I've seen of late was TJ Perkins over Mondo or whatever that guys name was, I cant stand that guy he looked like a fool. I tried watching lastnight but I just cant get into ROH like I thought I would and overall I'd rather roll the dice for my Wrestling Edge Australia or watch a random match from the past...

I actually liked Mike Mondo when he was in OVW. But he had Kenny Bolin talking for him. He's kind of a goof when left to his own devices. Not a good RoH fit honestly.

Got around to watching this episode last night. Thought it was really good, I liked the main event and Bravados/Bucks was pretty good too.

This fails the bullshit detector if you ask me. If they had a million viewers, those ratings would be plastered all over the internet. But you really can't find anything on RoH television ratings other than they're doing good ratings in some markets.
You have to look at it like this. They're on in let's say 22 markets. Some of those markets they're doing really well in and some of those markets they're not doing well in. To get a million viewers they would need to be averaging 50,000 viewers per market to get that. I don't think they're averaging that. I think they might be getting close to 100,000 viewers in a couple of markets but I think they're probably getting next to zero in other markets. They just don't have the timeslots to pull those ratings.
NWA Hollywood is a local, single market promotion that's been on television for a year and I think they get something like 100,000 viewers a week and that's considered a huge success and they have a better timeslot.
It's just hard to pull those ratings late at night.
It's also a bad indicator but you literally have to dig and dig and dig to find any discussion of RoH television on the internet.

Didn't see the show yet. Heard O'Reilly/Davey was good but it's Davey and O'Reilly, I can't see this being something I'm going to lose my mind over honestly.

It would seem virtually impossible to get anything but a small measure of their ratings due to the multiple markets and probably time slots.

O'Reily and Richards sure know a lot of moves. It wasn't my type of match; came off more like an MMA exhibition in most parts, but it was good for that type of affair. Mondo's gimmick would work better somewhere with actual giant guys to play off. As it stands, he really is one of the more jacked guys in the company so the "little big man" thing doesn't play. I was glad to see the WGTT segment from last week got recapped: I was getting worried those guys weren't getting enough airtime. Are they TRYING to get Steen over as the anti-hero face? It seems to be working that way, but that may be accidental. In 2011 will people cheer the likes of "reformed" Corino and Jacobs and boo Steen?

My cousin and I talked about the show yesterday. He DVRs it and is a more casual fan. He watches any wrestling that is on television but he had a lot of complaints about the show:
1. Only have a couple of matches a week. 2. He hates Davey Richards. 3. He thinks it exposes them to be making the WGTT such a big deal in the promotion. 4. Too much talking from people that can't talk. 5. Doesn't understand why Jay Lethal isn't their top star as in his eyes, Lethal is the biggest star they have. 6. Too much filler.
He didn't really complain about the production or anything. Overall, he isn't enjoying the product.

I've always liked WGTT, but not that much that I want to see them as the focal point of the company. Lethal now does not seem like the same Lethal as he was in TNA. He's too toned down and seems to have forgotten how to cut an exciting interview/promo. I think Steen will and should be the main man soon, and no matter what anyone else says I think the Briscoes are solid as it comes. Those rednecks are so unlike anyone else in wrestling today that it sets them apart and they can go in the ring.
Richards and all this MMA type stuff with the camps and teams that train together and all that----if I wanted MMA I'd watch MMA.
ROH is definitely rebuilding, and I hope they get their momentum going full swing. The US fans deserve a good alternative. I've seen a lot of potential good to go with the stuff that's less than good. I've seen some really good matches in the past few weeks and I'll stick with it to see what happens.

Thinking they push WGTT so much is because they must feel that they are the most recognizable stars on TV that they have since they had such a good run in the WWE a few years back. Jay Lethal was good in TNA, but not like he was a world champion or anything. And since generally WWE gets 3-4 times the ratings of TNA, probably no where near as well known as WGTT to the casual wrestling fans. They got to do something to make it interesting story wise though or they won't ever grow as a company, or will most likely lose this TV deal. Cornette is the only one in the whole promotion that can talk. It can still be focused on wrestling, but they need to use a lot more of their roster than what they have been doing, and got to find some storylines that people actually care about. It seems like the more hardcore ROH fans are bored with Richards/Edwards feud.....so why would casual fans want to watch this?
