It looks like a police line-up, not a PPV poster

Has Rhino been positioned to headline a PPV as a challenger?

Has Rhino been positioned to headline a PPV as a challenger? His only losses on TV/PPV since the Sinclair stuff started are to Davey and Eddie, and Rhino beats Eddie by ref stoppage to get the title shot, so I guess if nearly killing Eddie Edwards makes you a PPV challenger, yeah he has. Rhett Titus and Charlie Haas? With Shelton Benjamin on the poster? curious... Benjamin is "suspended" in ROH (he's really in the G1 in New Japan). On an upcoming TV, Titus and Haas argue over some shit and they agree they'll be partners and then fight each other when they win the tag belts. Yeah, it makes no sense.

Their tournament has really been a mess. Just wait until Titus and Haas are the champs because we totally haven't seen that before.
I wasn't sure on Rhino. He kind of seemed like a non-entity that just showed up here and there. I guess that's an interesting match up. I'm really burned out on the Rhino thing so I'm a bad judge of him due to that.

Man, stuff like that makes me wax nostaligic for the Gabe-run RoH.

Man, stuff like that makes me wax nostaligic for the Gabe-run RoH. Hell, Pearce-run ROH was awesome too. I'd love to have 2010 ROH back. Way better creative direction plus Pearce was the guy responsible for the tag team that made me care about ROH again. (The American Wolves, btw)

Thinking about it, I am not thrilled at all at the prospects of Steen vs. Rhino, especially since Steen's going to win. I like Kevin Steen a lot, but he should not be ROH World Champion. He doesn't fit with the lineage of that title (Joe, Punk, Bryan, Aries, Black, etc) and I hate seeing the ROH Title defended exclusively in garbage style matches

The problem is, who else can they put the belt on? Steen is a better stylistic match for what they have on the roster than Eddie Edwards would be at this point. And they've really mismanaged guys like Lethal and cut any kind of momentum they might have had.

Face it: that group of talent in ROH with Danielson, Nigel, Punk, Joe, etc comes around once in a lifetime. You cannot fault ROH for not having that kind of talent on the roster right now. They DO have a group of good, motivated guys and a few up and comers right under the radar. Steen is the most over guy on the roster right now, so it makes sense for him to be champion. With that said, Rhino has been getting some great crowd reactions himself. I'd like to see this built a little while longer and Rhino take the title. But we all pretty much have the feeling that's not going to happen. At any rate, I expect a very good match.
If Steen would take a little more pride in his physical appearance he'd be something special; the complete package. Right now ROH seems to be in a rebuilding stage and I think guys like Bennett, Mondo, and Ciampa are going to be big names as they continue to grow and improve. But for now it's going to be Steen unless something happens to change that.

And they've really mismanaged guys like Lethal and cut any kind of momentum they might have had. Michael Elgin, Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly....all three of those guys fit the 'mold' of ROH Champion better than Steen and all three of those guys are perfectly capable of having a great match against almost anyone on the roster. Face it: that group of talent in ROH with Danielson, Nigel, Punk, Joe, etc comes around once in a lifetime. You cannot fault ROH for not having that kind of talent on the roster right now. I'm not trying to fault them on not having that level of talent, but I can fault them for fumble fucking around and costing themselves Callihan, Generico and half the guys working for Gabe. Steen should hit the gym, but he won't because he doesn't need to. He'll look like a slob and he'll still be over and he'll never come across as a star. Bennett is another guy who doesn't fit the ROH 'mold' but could end up being very good for them. Still don't see shit in Ciampa, though.

Michael Elgin is the only one one those three that wouldn't completely tank the company in a matter of weeks.

Michael Elgin is the only one one those three that wouldn't completely tank the company in a matter of weeks. As of right now? Yeah, because he's the only guy out of those three pushed as a main eventer. The other two are midcard guys right now. O'Reilly as a heel is a fresh face to a stale main event scene and Cole could easily contribute to the main event scene if they'd just let him do his shit instead of being a bland babyface character.
