I think Cole could be a main eventer with more experience and a little seasoning in the ring. I honestly don't think O'Reilly is a main event calibur guy.

My thing with Steen is, he looks like a fucking hobo half the time. I don't care if he's a little chunky. Go back in the older eras of wrestling. Dick Murdoch was a quality main event talent and he had a fucking beer gut. But he didn't dress like a total slob either. That's really my thing with Steen. Stop dressing like a slob, hit the gym and tighten your body up a bit and no one will give a shit that you're fat. And to further that a little bit.
Dear RoH,
Don't use side shots of Steen for promotional posters. People are going to ask why Rhino is fighting a pregnant chick and that's just going to be awkward as shit.
Sincerely, Everyone

Cole could be real good in the future. There's no reason to elevate him too soon, though. O'Reilly is not ready for anything big at this point. He may never be; his MMA schtick does nothing for me. Elgin needs to hit that next gear and dump his weird Canadian hair.
Generico is still on their roster page and has wrestled for them since they've been on Sinclair Broadcasting. I hope he shows up again soon. Sami Callihan has come a long way in the past few years and may be a star waiting to happen. They may have missed the boat on him. I wouldn't be surprised to see the WWE be his next big stop.
With a lot of these guys like Bennett we're seeing the development stages and growing pains inherent. I remember watching a young Terra Ryzing, Vinnie Vegas, and a up and coming Steve Austin on WCW Saturday night in the early 90s; don't over-think the comparisons, but I see several guys in ROH right now as being in that same kind of developmental stage. I don't know what kind of passion and mind for wrestling Bennett has, but he has the physical tools to be a success.
Maddog,
In this instance I'll just let your comments about side shots of Steen speak for everyone.

O'Reilly could be a good main event heel, IMO. Not best heel ever by any means, but he could be good if he's booked properly. Elgin is already there, the guy is unbelievable in the ring and a far better pick for World Champion than Steen. Cole could be money but not with this current character. His stuff in CZW as the Panama City Playboy is tremendous, but that adds another heel to an already heel heavy roster.
They did miss the boat on Sami. He worked for them a few times in 09, was treated like a jobber, and when he started to get hot, Gabe signed him and put him out of reach, Generico probably won't be back soon since he doesn't have an actual contract with ROH and he's been working a lot for Gabe.

You know, that'd make a great angle. After Steen drops the title, have him lose a few in a row, make fun of his being fat, etc... have him go work out for six months off TV, then come back and massacre everyone.

Generico and Sinclair management also have a bad relationship. So I doubt he comes back.

This is an honest question. Would any of you trust the current management group to actually take advantage of quality talent if it landed in their lap?

I mean look at Finlay's brief run with the company. I feel like there was some buzz on him at the time he came in and they really didn't capitalize on him at all. He kind of came and went with no impact on the product.
They really feel a lot like TNA did until James Storm won the title. It has that same feel that you could give them any talent in the world and they would find a way to botch it no matter how big the name was.

Updated the card. Seriously underwhelming outside of the two singles title matches and even then that's not a particularly strong group of matches.

Lethal/Cide, that would've been a really interesting match... 5 years ago in TNA...
Cole/Mondo, that's not a great style fit IMO.
That tag title tournament is a mess considering what should have been the final is a semi-final. I'm guessing the final will be Jacobs/Corino vs. Haas/Titus which I don't think sets anyone's world on fire. The rest of the tournament... meh, when one of your semi-final teams are jobbers, that's bad.
ACH/O'Reilly... shit... NEXT!
Steen/Rhino might be a good garbage brawl. The only real downside to this match is there's zero suspense because RoH is going to have the belt on Steen for a long time and this match feels like a filler feud. I think the actual match will be good but not what an RoH main event is supposed to be.

Pretty much and the worst part is the Elgin match next month is only there to kickstart the feud with Elgin and Roddy that should already be close to blowing off.

Honestly, I would have Rhino win the belt here and have Steen win it back at the next tv tapings. They need to throw the fan base a curveball to build some interest. They are brutally predictable right now.

Holy fuck, Irish Airborne are back in ROH and nobody gives a shit. I like those guys, they're good and all but that match doesn't make me want to drop $15 on this PPV when I can pay that for one of the PWG shows I need to get to be caught up.

They're kind of overexposed at this point. Any major indy and they work that fed. I think that's a good signing for the tag team division though. That adds some depth that's really needed.
