Along with guys like Lombardi and Horowitz, Jim Powers became sort of ubiquitous on WWF television in the late 80s-early 90s and had a cult following despite the won/loss record. I was happy to see that his name was included in the voting for the last pdf release because that meant he was eligible for a card, but kind of relieved when he didn't get included since that left open the chance he'd get a physical card released at some point. Fortunately the latter came to pass. That tag team match of Survival from the Survivor Series '87 is still one of my favorite SS matches (not likely to be challenged since they don't do a proper SS anymore).

Wow...signings must REALLY be getting slim. Claudio Castignoli.

It is starting to look skimpy. I only hope there's an actual major name left as Mulligan and Castagnoli while great names just don't feel like headliners like the others have.

Wow...signings must REALLY be getting slim. Claudio Castignoli. I think its probably more of decison based on his current run in the WWE same as Bernard.

I'm glad for this card because I just debuted him in my fed recently and this card will be a stronger representation of him.

Claudio art got pulled from the website. Tom writes that it was the wrong art, and Steve Stanley is working on a different one. QUESTION: Did anyone bother to save that original image before it got pulled? It was a really solid drawing.

Cool. Thanks. I kind of suspect this got pulled when Tom read that what I wrote about it being sourced directly from a WWE photo. That's a "no no" that can get someone in trouble with the owner of the photograph. Marvel comics ran into that problem a few years ago when one artist kept using photos of famous people as reference for his characters. They had to send a memo to tell artists that the images had to be altered enough that a person couldn't immediately tell the source or else it would open the company up to legal problems from the owners of the photos.

And when they do ROH alumni or legends set of guys already in the game with cards, Claudio will get another one.

I'm not seeing the problem here. Look at how many Star Warrior cards have been made. Look at all of the Wolf cards in different COTG sets. Claudio has a different wrestling style now so he gets an upgraded card just like a COTG character would. He's also very popular with a lot of game players and could attracts the casual fan when his image is used in adverts (just like Bryan Danielson). Of course, I was going to make a new Antonio Cesaro card (modified promoter special edition card with revised moveset) for my own personal use, so this saves me the trouble. Therefore my opinion may be a little colored by that.
I get how some people want all new cards, all the time. However, this is his first Legends card. There are threads all over the message boards about how some people don't mix black and white and color cards and want (for instance) Rhino in Legends even though he's in the ROH set. Or how people don't think Legends and Chikara mix stat-wise. Now we've got the other end of the argument from people who think some wrestlers get too many cards. I think this is yet another case of "you can't please all of the people, all of the time".

I just think its a little too soon. Bryan won the Heavyweight title before his second card. Just don't see the US title as that big of accomplishment to warrant an update. Also just don't know how you can improve on the perfection of his Chikara card.

One point someone brought up a while back was it looks bad when someone signs on to be part of the game and then has to wait years if ever to see a card. It could make LOW and Filsinger games look some sort of scam. A lot of wrestlers especially the older ones are already leary about giving permission to have names and likenesses used there's no need to make it more difficult to sign people. I have nothing at all against Castagnoli but think if they wanted an updated card they could have put out a special edition one like they did with Danielson and give one of those guys that's been waiting a while spot in the set.

Naw. The wrestlers love it. Get your 3 Colt Cabana cards autographed and he'll tell you all about how much he loves it.
